If this item is monk usable, and monks are a leather class, then shouldn't druids be able to use it, too?? So should clerics. I sometimes fail to understand the reasoning behind making items usable by certain classes and not others. All leather goods should be usable by any class that can wear leather or better.
If you were me and I were you, would we still be friends?
I like to think of it that the effects of this item only work when worn by one with a 'fighter's' spirit, so it is pointless for druids/shaman/cleric to equip, cos they would get no benefit :)

Pallies can outtaunt pretty much any class if they know what they are doing. My 54 pally can and has on many occasions outtaunted a 60+ war simply by using stun and root. Stuns grab major agro. And when a mob is rooted it will attack the closest person to it. Sure HT will grab SOME agro but its limited to 1 hit. Once the pally taunts or stuns again the mob is on him/her (tho ive yet to see a female pally). If you have 2 pallies in a group you can almost be assured the casters wont grab agro if both pallies chain stun.

You guys are dumb, why are you guys arguing if it is plate or not, it says plated get it? PLATED means coated, dipped not real! if it was SILVER PLATE BRACERS that would be different and just because it looks like plate doesn't mean ****. Think about it, gold plated earrings look gold to me. And hence the name does say SILVER plated for the intellectually numb people out there this armor is plated in silver. Silver is a type of metal. It is similar to steel and is shiny. so I can see how it looks like Plate armor. So all you ppl out there saying this is plate, you really need to learn yer English language a tad bit better.

I don't know why anyone cares to argue about this piece of CRAP!!! item.....it's 7ac and +5 save disease/poison...i don't know why anyone would wear this....but whatever, have fun arguing about what type of crap this is.

You guys dont know the difference between complete plate armor and platED armor this is not plate armor it is just silver coated hence the name silver platED. and for that post way down there serpentine bracers arent plate either if these things were really plate armor they would have like 10AC and they dont this is close but no cigar buddies................ just my 2cp

actaully no its not Plate...it IS plated. which means that it is some type of material plated or covered in silver. that little d on the end makes a big difference. but really who cares what it is or what its called the only thing that matters is can i use it, is it better then what i got now or can i sell it for lots of cash....and the answer is yes no no ( in this case)

Paladins rock they can save a entire party if the cleric going down and he is the only healer they do loh and the wholl group is saved. I have done it many times

he has a point. i rarely use LOH on anyone but myself becuase were don't do more damage the warriors, we cann't heal like clreci, and we can cast spells like other casting raceses except for rangers and SK. but like he said a SK is able to do a lot of damage with HT, how ever a paladin can out tuant a warrior there level as matter of fact i out tuant and damage most warriors at my level, and that incudes the major twinks i out every thing them. just wait till you get FD then see how fast people want you in a group (you can bash with the weapon and it dies alot of damage)

if you are outtaunting sk's in your party then they either don't know what they are doing, or are not trying to get aggro.
with our debuff and dot spells and when bashing with 1h weapon we can easily outtaunt even a warrior.
the only class i ever have problems getting aggro off of is a bard.
in my guild, which is comprised mostly of lvl 60 players, the main role of the sk's is to taunt and place mobs because they are the best at it.
paladins i think tank better than sk's though cuz they have more hp's i think. (not sure on this). also LOH is better than HT i think. HT is really not THAT much damage. i mean at lvl 35 doing 350 dmg. is great, but once a day??? not real useful. occasionally saves a party, but as you say LOH'ing the cleric when he is going down is more important.

i agree that sks are good at holding agro, sometimes even when they dont want to. this kinda sucks seeing as im a warrior. lol
I've hardly ever seen a Pally use his LoH on anyone but himself... That's why Pally's aren't so big in groups, whereas a ShadowKnight will use HT when him OR the team is in trouble.

I am sorry to say some pally are a crummy self-center player..and that's not how that class should be play imho. IF you look at the class description of a pally..it's Valor, honor, noble etc...and if you check out the AA they even got something call ACT OF VALOR. Where a pally would sacrifice his HP to save someone.
I play a pally and I use my Lay hand sparingly. when I solo it's on myself ..but when i am in a group..it's ON those that need Lay hand the most and cleric is oom I don't even think of using it on myself unless we are doing some serious name mob.
Now if you want to compare how Grand a SK is..well they are pure and simple "EVIL". How can something evil be noble?! as for their Harm touch--how can Harm someone be good??! So the choice is really to use HT on mob or use it on a MOB, NOT very hard to do..but with LH it's self or other. And when a pally is tanking they got very short amount of time before they or their group member dies...so they don't have that long to think about using it. And just because a pally have a higher purpose on the class they play doesn't mean they are any less then an SK who is supposedly be "good".
If you have experience the bad part of a Pally then you have yet to experience the better part but not every pally is the same and or will act selfishly.

Your a crummy warrior if you cant out taunt a pally. The only trouble my warrior ever has is with super-twinked monks if they dont feign (but monks dont like aggro so they feign) or good bards.

Well I can't say much for other Paladins, But I usually am the first to die. I also hardly ever use LoH on myself. If you play a Paly and RP you know why.

IF this is "Plate" then why can rangers use it?
Rangers cannot use non-magical plate armor. However, they can where some of the Magical plate armor types. Its a restricted list, but yes, we CAN wear plate in some instances. :)

This is not plate armor. Notice how monks, rogues and rangers can use. Hmm may just be me but I have never seen a monk in plate armor.

This IS plate armor. Hence the name. Also, look at the graphic. Also, i believe even int the EQ booklet or on one of the major websites (this one or CAsters Realm i believe) in the character creation section, tells how rangers are able to use some high level plate armors. This is plate in my opinion. Also, isn't a serpentine bracer a form of plate? Judging by the skin... I say so, AND monks can wear as well. Oh well, its Verant's fault for being inconsistant, so dont flame eachother or the items over petty differences and odditties. Also, isnt mithril plate? and cant rogues wear? Just my thoughts.

Hey, pallys aren't ALL bad, i mean sometimes you want a warrior, sometimes you want a celric, might as well have both in one, even if they don't serve the purpose a full cleric and full warrior might serve, they are still good. A less than average warrior, a crappy cleric, with half the loot split and exp take, so leave us pallys alone, we aren't bad! :)

Lots of items that used to be ALL/ALL were changed to ALL/all but Iksar around the time Kunark launched.
