This guy's spawn timer is not 16 minutes like some other posts said. I have timed the placeholder over the last 5 spawns and it's somewhere between 13 and 14 minutes. I hope this helps anyone on the fence trying to decide to camp this awesome pally weapon!
Level: Conned Dark Blue to a 47. Estimated level of 45.
Respawn: Timer is 16 minutes (Real time)
HP: 10,000 Hits: 30 - 250 damage against AC 1250
Combat Sequence: First time he gets below 50% health he will Lay on Hands, putting him back to 80% + health. After that he will cast greater heal on himself every time his life gets below 50% until he is out of mana. He casted heal approx 20 times on himself. HE DID NOT ATTEMPT TO FLEE.
2cp: With a 52 Paladin, a 47 Warrior, and a 53 Cleric grouped, he was easy as a halfling's foot is hairy.
Drops from 1st Kill: Fabled Ghoulbane, Ghoulbane
Drops from 2nd Kill: Fabled Ghoulbane, Silver-Plated Bracer
Both Ghoulbane and Fabled Ghoulbane are lightsources

Don't know what is up with this pop but we camped the room from 10pm until the server shut down at 3 am ~ killed countless placeholders ~ and never saw the Shin Lord. Going back soon to try again. <sigh>
I got this bad baby today, and it was a relatively easy fight. After an hour or two of searching for a group to help me, a 62 ranger guildie logged on (thanks Pash) . Anyway, it was my main (55 war) and the 62 Ranger. After about 5 or so rounds of Place holders (we were there for an hour) he literally popped ontop of me. He quickly got me down to 50% when the ranger took over. He was blue to me at 55. When we finished the fight (maybe a minute later) the ranger was at 50 and i was down to 20%. He DID LOH, but it was very small. He WAS rooted, althought it didnt last long. It was an easy and fun fight, got the fabled, the regular, and a rusty weap. Its a must get for any pally (at least until they are gone).
Soloed this mob once and assisted twice in killing this mob and thought to share a few notes about the experience.
Conned Dk blue to my lvl 60 pally who was buffed with Virtue and Brells for a total of 5148 hp and 1234 AC and wielding a War Marshall's Bladed Staff. Spells loaded were: Celestial Cleansing, Light of Life, Cease, Desist, and Force of Akera, Divine Aura, Flash of Light and Nullify Magic.
The Fabled Froglok Shin Lord is Immune to stuns and root, does cast heals and buffs on himself, hit me no harder than 308 damage, he does bash, spawns exactly were Benonai describes. (excellent description on the room)
Facing into the area which hold the spawn room, you will be facing a circular room with a pit /w ladder in the center that is empty and leads nowhere. There are 3 frogloks that will spawn here. Clockwise starting on your left, the 1st room holds one froglock spawn. The 2nd room on your left is the Shin Lord's room. This holds 3 spawns and has a false wall in the back leading to the next room. The 3rd room, which is straight ahead of you holds 2 spawns and has a false wall leading to the Shin Lords' room. The 4th room also has 2 spawns. The 5th room which will be on your right has 2 Foglok spawns and finally the 6th room is just a dead end with no spawns.
Shin Lord Spawn time: My experience was 5 Place holders followed by 2 back to back spawns of the Fabled Shin Lord. The next cycle was 5 place holders, Fabled Shin Lord, another place holder followed by another Fabled Shin Lord.
The Solo Fight: I kept all the spawns cleared in a cycle which would leave only the PH/Fabled up if he should spawn to avoid the distraction of green adds as well as the heals and buffs that come with shamans and knights nearby any fight in Upper Guk. (This is why I told you all that info on spawn placement). As soon as he popped I saw him cast something that surrounded him in a Divine Aura. I pulled with Nullify Magic and his immunity to stuns was verified as I proceded to chain stun to stop the small heals I saw take place when he hit about 60 percent health. I kept Celestial Cleasing on myself with intermittent casts of Light of Life to keep my health percentage higher than the Fabled's health. Flash of Light did bring a noticable reduction in damage recieved and I do reccommend using it. Just remember not to get out of melee range or use a knock back stun. Finally I switched to adjutant's saber and shield for bashing in case of Lay on Hands or other large type heals. The fight ended with my health at 23 percent, mana at 30 percent, and no need to use my Lay on Hands.
I never saw any significant heals take place on the Fabled (25% or better), but I was frustrated to see alot of smaller jumps in his health despite chain stunning and bashing to interrupt his casting. I was interrupted by his bashing also. Coincidental or not, I did notice i was hit less and for lower amounts of damage when the Fabled was blinded by Flash of light.
The drops on all three of my kills including this solo one, I had the bracer, and the Fabled GB drop only.
As far as the 2 kills duoing with a 53 shaman... well if one can solo a mob, then having the support of a shaman makes the incident trivial. I should have asked about slows and other spells he used, but then didnt think I'd pass this on until I saw how little info was actually posted.
The only other comparison of difficulty i could give is a 55 pally and 46 ranger duoed him just before me, with the pally using 3 charges of CH from his soulfire before managing to defeat the fabled. I healed them both afterwards (having just arrived) and they both had less than 20 percent health. The pally was only self buffed (no virtue)and was low on mana when the Fabled "spawned on his head".
Hope you find something worthwile in this post and goood luck.
The camp was open when we got there and we went through 4 or 5 place holders before the fabled popped. Conned dk blue to my 54 druid; killed him easily paired with a 57 monk. I just kept regrowth on the monk and tossed a few heals. Nuked about 3 times before I drew aggro. He hit me once for 308, the rest were from 30 - 100. The fabled used LH at around 50%, but was still relatively easy.
thats wrong he's not 65; he conned blue to my paladin at 60 so probably like 50-55ish now. I could almost solo him with LH but not quite so had to heal once with my cleric. Blasted him also to speed it up hit me max around 300 i think but mostly jus 70-150 ish not too bad. Always drops fabled GB obviously, only dropped bracer though no normal GB; didn't need it anyways. He does use LH but only gives him about 25-30% hp from what I saw; he used it at about 45-50% hp. Wasnt hard to take right when he popped although I heard he can be a pain if he buffs himself so dispell him if hes already up. Good luck
I just camped him. It took about 6 or 7 PH to spawn him. My group was a 58 drood, my 58 rogue, a 61 warr, and a 57 bard. He did hit in the 200s on me (a rogue) but he hit in the 100s most of the time on the warr. And he has no elemental gear or anything. He dropped in about 30sec and only one heal from the drood to the warr. Also, he conned blue to the 57 bard, so he's not anywhere near lvl 65.
He spawned in the same room, the same spot as the regular Froglok Shin Lord. If you dont know where that is, eqatlas.com has his spot listed on their map as #17. In the area where teh 17 is, his room is the second on the left of the circle of 6 rooms at the dead end. In case you're still confused, the room where he spawns has a hidden wall in the northeast corner of it that leads into another room to the right. His spawn seemed random. We tried not killing anything but mobs in that room, then we tried wiping the whole dead end, but neither seemed to work better than the other.
As far as loot goes, he drops BOTH the Fabled Ghoulbane and the ORIGINAL ghoulbane. So if you know another pally, take them along. Also, there was noone else camping him when i got there. As a matter of fact, since the problems with the login server, there hasnt been anyone else in the zone.... Hope this post helps someone. GL
