This guy will also drop rusty weapons. Might want to let people know that so when he spawns with a blade in his hand they don't get all excited because it might not be the GB they have been spending hours looking for.

Okay, so 11/29/21 camped the froglok shin lord @ /loc -12.08, 275.64, -94.84 with my 75 sk. Cleared the room and approx 13 - 15mins later the froglok shin lord pops on top of me with Ghoulbane. That was after the first time I cleared the room. I don't really know if they changed spawn rates or rarity of his spawn or whatever. Maybe I was lucky or maybe they changed it. With Brewall's maps the spawn location is shown in the far Southwest corner of Upper Guk.

Seems on Ragefire the spawn is 13 minutes 15 seconds

After playing on Fennin ro (now known as Cazic Thule-Fennin ro) since the game was released, i felt it was time for a fresh start, so i made a pally (with mage box) on Bristlebane, leveled my toons up to about 21, then went into upper guk to camp the ghoulbane, have been here for 2 days now, cleared the entire section (room by room) about 50 times, and have yet to see him even spawn. so good luck to anyone that decides to camp him,
also, i just cleared the room at 10:45 AM, room respawned at 11:00 AM, so its about a 15 min spawn, give or take 5 mins

cleared the room 51 times, on the 52'nd spawn, he spawned with none other then...... a rusty short sword (and the bracer)..., 53'rd spawn. bracer..

I've been here off and on now for 6 days......Killed the froglok shin lord maybe 10 times in that period and dropped the bracer each and every time......When will it all end and drop the ghoulbane.

This guy dropped like a stone. Camped the room #17 on the map and he spawned by the fake wall in the room after 3 hours.

What is the freaking spawn timer on this camp? Cause killing them takes all of like a minute with my 70 pally and I do not want to sit here on my butt staring at an empty room for half an hour.

Yes, the sword does drop. I camped the room (#17 on the EQ Atlas map) for about an hour with no luck getting the guy to spawn. I logged out and the next time I logged back in, there he was! Took him down with no problem and he dropped the Ghoulbane the first time. Even if you're not this lucky, though, it's still easier that doing the quest.

I figured as a 55 SK i would be able to kill this guy easy, i was way wrong. After one round of spawns and him not up i buffed up and got out pet for next spawns, and what popped was The Fabled Froglok Shin Lord, Never knew that was his name, but anyway i throw some nukes at him and run in and attack. He started hittin me for like 240-260 each hit, my guess is hes a big under-con well ima go get me a rez cause i just lost lvl and now ima camp him all over again

Ok so I figured out thats these were for the 5th anniversary and that people have been seein tons of these mobs, which is great to get people back into old world zone that are way under populated. Anyway I had someone kill the Fabled Shin Lord and he let me loot Fabled Ghoulbane, I was campin him for my epic and this fabled one better work for turn in or ima petition for a normal one cause as a SK i have no need for a pally only weapon

Im a 58 sk and had a tough time with the fabled one. Asked a guildie to help me out. He dropped both the Fabled goulbane and the regular one. I took the regular one for my epic and had my pally loot the fabled. :)

Congratulations my friend you just found a special NPC for EQ's 5th anniversary celebration. SOE buffed up a lot of the old world named mobs to make them hit harder, have more HP's and just be much nastier in every way.

Check the Map of Upper Guk on EQAtlas; the Shin Lord spawns in area 17. Note that this is on a level below the entrance level for the zone. There are some ladders to the North-West portion of the zone that get you down to the correct level. Go via area 8 then double back towards 17 once you are on the right level.
For SK's hunting here, Invis is your friend. There are also periodic places to refresh Invis without attracting aggro.

Just to update eveyone he does still spawn in the same spot. I took him down on 8-25-03 after about a six hour camp. I was wondering if he still spawned then he showed up in about the third hour. Four pops later I had the Ghoulbane. Now its tucked away in the bank waiting on the rest of the things needed for my epic.

I do have better sword than dis but im a level 28 pally 5 blu bubs to 29 and bout to farm in unrest, thought about it and want to get this sword in upper guk i was wondering if this is a no drop now on the server or it can still be drop by this mob, i havent really decided on camping out n doing the gb quest but u know i was just wondering.

I just camped this A hole for 5 hours. Killed all the warriors, knights and shamans in the area and he never spawned once. Is it bugged or am I just missing something. I must have killed everything in tha hall and all rooms around that pit 20-30 times and nothing.

My SK is camped out in the room. As I type this, I am holding the entire area down with nothing but my 37 mage and a fire pet.

16hours of this friggin boring camp and it finally dropped. The spawn is 17min, and the loc is neg25, pos260. The Shin Lord Knights & Warriors are his common PH, though sometimes a shammy will as well. I have 12bracers...and he only spawned about once out of every 4 or 5spawns...so good luck.
Since most posts here are savvy...Is this spawn soloable by a lvl 39th DE SK. With a MOSS, and around 780 ac/ 820 atk, and 1312 hps.
I think this is close to the actual stats, if it matters.

you shouldnt have to much of a problem
i soloed this camp at 41 without any troubble
jsut be careful with pull, bring alot of bandages and keep your 130hp DD ready for runners. oh and snare all and everyone too.

Just camped the Shin Lord yesterday on Innoruuk server. Ghoulbane does still drop, but as stated in other post, is no drop now.

Hey folks, Well, I got my ghoulbane finally, and I decided after reading these posts that the besttime to get it was during off hours. I must have had a run of bad luck unlike the lower post cause it took me 8 hrs to get er. I had gone thru 4 Shin Lords. Oh, btw, they Pallies and use LOH mostly before they getto half health, thank god for stupid AI*lol*. So what I noticed was he respawned shortly before my HT returned which putis it at roughly 80-90 min pop timer but the 4th was a lot longer. I assumed that the 4th would have it cause of him being rare that 1 time and sure enough. Best part is, he didn't LOH that last run but nailed me for 3 X 154 when I tried to land DoTs but went down rather easily. Another part of epic complete. Good luck to all who hunt here :)

YOu are unlucky i have camped this thing for 47 hours so far longest being 14 hour stretch i killed this stupid SHIN LORD 31 times. Yes this is right 31 times he has dropped 30 silver plated braders...1 pearl....3onyx... NO GHOULBANE NONE.....and all kinds of words. am i doing something wrong or what i clear every frog within a mile of it i WANT My epic and i need this stupid no drop sword huh.... well wish me luck back to my camp...

Just wanted to update everyone about the ghoulbane, I camped the lord for roughly 4 hours, in a two day period. First night I spent three hours in the room clearing everything, no lord popped. Next night I log in and kill a couple shin warriors and POP, theres the lord. The weapon wasn't in his hand, so I thought he wouldn't drop it. MANY MANY heals later, he finalyl died. This guy can heal himself and has what seems is never ending mana. I killed the shin warrior and other warrior before attacking the lord, and the lord healed them both the whole time, BOTH OF THEM and then himself THE WHOLE FIGHT. man this guy had some mana...Anway, way off track here. It DOES still drop, just kill all the ph's and wait patiently. Oh yea, I am a 42 SK and had no trouble keeping the area clear.
