YAY for purified stuff, I've done this quest a million times with my 'phat lewtz' from ToFS, I usually just do it for fun but I really want a crystalized shadow tunic. Pity they are no drop otherwise I'd but one

This IS a range equipable item. Even though it says only "PRIMARY SECONDARY" in the SLOT entry, any item that has a range on it (Range: 40 on this item) next to the weight is equippable in the range and possibly the AMMO slot (but I don't think the ammo slot adds the stats) because it is a THROWN weapon.
Just be careful to not hit your RANGE ATTACK button when this is equipped. Or if you ever get Charmed, you may expect to have the spell wear off and find that you threw your shiny magic dagger at your friend.
Also, this item comes from a Faded Shadow Dagger. If you use a Crystallized Shadow Dagger with the Soulforge Hammer, you get a "Purified Crystal Dagger" with a little better stats.

I have one of these myself but I haven't gotten around to sending in the Screenshot. And yes it IS equippable in the Range slot and it does NOT have "RANGE" in the "Slot" entry of the description just like this item.

Ahh, but it MUST be able to be eqipped in the range slot. It has a Range value of 40! :) Can't throw something from the Primary or Secondary, can you?
Ah! too true. I now see the mention of it in the description as opposed to the pic. Funny how it isnt mentioned in the pic. I /bow to your superior knowledge.
Most (if not all) throwable weapons that aren't range slot only don't list range as one of their equippable slots. Range is usually only listed if it's only a ranged weapon, or it's some range slot stat modifier like a resistance stone.
