Drops much more commonly from watchers than devoureres. **IF** any drop, it's usually in bunches of 3 or 4.

And how in the world are 54+s supposed to solo here? I'm a 60 chanter w/o dire charm and it is dangerous!

A total of 75 are need for part 5 of Coldain Shawl Quest. Clerics, Warriors, berserkers and surprisingly Bards and perhaps rogues the ground Floor of velketors is Easily Soloble by 54+ characters for all other classes.
Only the crytalline Spiders drop the threads but all others can drop gems and velium, which you'll need in part 8, and are worth killing. When a Crytaline Drops them they invariably drop two to four.
are they found in CC?

Lvl to solo hunter
# Apr 24 2003 at 2:14 PM Rating: Decent
what lvl can I solo this guy? I already have a post for the one that drops Schr, but i think I can solo this faster without having to be 60 or 60+ hehe. I just wanna know what lvl these can be solo'd as an Sk. Ty for all the help.

he was an rather easy kill for me at lvl 50 as a shaman, 3 e-bolts and my pet attacikc as i had slowed the mob did the trick. took 2 bubs of mana and pet had 65% hp left after. get a chanter or shaman to slow for you and you have him dead. otherwise it'll be very hard as he hits for 120 max and hit fast.
silk fibers

The silk fiber you get from combining 5 silk threads is NOT stackable. Unless you have a lot of bag space I would not combine as I go.

Taking the Glowing Bile Soaker (and 5 looted biles) with you as well as your sewing kit makes looting the Silks a much more productive process. As the threads drop, combine 5 and put 1 bile and the new silk into the Bile Soaker. Get 3 silks total, hit combine (a no-fail combine) and you have 1 of your Glowing Crystalline Silks prepped and ready.

Also, if you fail a thread combine, you are still in place to loot more.

Coldain Tanners Kit
# Jan 29 2002 at 1:04 PM Rating: Good
Tanners kit works fine for combining the THREADS. Dont' know about the silks, just need the threads at this time. Combine the threads 5 at a time. Trivial about 51 tailoring. But I failed one at 144 Tailoring. **shrugs**
spiders
# Nov 29 2001 at 11:18 AM Rating: Decent
these drop off of crystalline watchers, hunters, etc... usually drop 3 or 4 at a time.

what is the name of the special tailoring kit you need to combine these? i have a Coldain Tanners Kit and it hasent worked for me.

please tell me if you know, it'll really help me out!

You not need the wurm bile to combine, these pearl necklace looking webs, in the bile soaker. Go back to the Shawl quest info. and read the 2nd to the last paragraph.

I have successfully combined these in large & deluxe sewing kits, I heard it's possible but never tryed coldain tanners kit. 5 at a time.
buy a sewing kit...
# Oct 22 2001 at 1:59 PM Rating: Decent
and combine the threads as you go. They are a common drop and spiders often drop more than one at a time.
End up with xp, skill points in tailoring, and sooner or later the quest pieces you need.

Almost forgot to mention you'll need a special sewing kit to work with crystalline stuff. Bought mine in Thurg.
Spiders?
# Aug 28 2001 at 9:19 AM Rating: Decent
Are these just off the spiders in Velks?
