Our forefathers gave us many tasks to better us. We learned the way of the sword, and the way of magiks. At each test we proved victorious, and for a time, quite prosperous. In time, we grew to be a large race, and created a ruthless empire that spanned many a mile. Our worth was broken down into a caste system, and many were made slaves.

I picked up several of these and have yet to find a purpose for them. Nor could I locate any site that even noted their existence, only the Lore skins volume 1 to 4 exist. Are the non-lore some forgotten leftover from the early days?

The 4 different skins are used in the Gem Inlaid Gauntlets Quest.

If you hunting in SK at the Spires these drop often enough that you should end up with all 4 without much dificulty. The person you give them to is located by facing the bank door in Qeynos, go right towards Soulbinder left from her take next right turn and stop by the first door on your left go inside and hail the NPC. The reward is a decent ear ring. These drop often enough I would not pay for them. Ask the spire groups if you are young and determined to complete this quest and they may let you Vulture off their kills.

Is there any use for the not lore item of the same name? It looks like unrolled scroll, like spells. Thanks.

How are you supposed to hand 4 of these at once whne you can't pick more than one up at a time? I have one on me and when I went to pick up another it said that I already had that Item and it wouldn't like me pick it up.

There are 4 different ones. If you keep trying to pick up others, you'll find that you'll be able to get some different ones.
You can also identify which one(s) you have by reading it. Even if you cannot read gnoll, there's a number in the text that doesn't get turned into gibberish. This number can be 1, 2, 3 or 4. In my experience #3 is probably the hardest one to get, but it's pretty random. The skins are often either left to rot, or sold to vendors too. They are very cheap to buy from the vendors if you can find them there.
The skins can be found on Split Paw gnolls inside the lair, in South Karana near the lair, or in a few other places where Split Paw gnolls occasionally show up (BlackBurrow for instance).
