WARNING: There is a mob that pops in South Karana
with the same title and look except it is duel
weilding 2 black swords. I was in SK tonight with
friends trying to get quillmaine's epic drop. I am a 62 paladin weilding a windblade. This mob
was green like all the other "a Tesch Mas Gnoll"
mobs. I started wacking on it and it was dispelling itself. I did over 30k damage and it was still 100% on health. My friends joined in and we fianlly killed it. Someone mentioned it was a tier 1 mob! If your solo and accidentally
attack this mob, I recommend just running to the zone. It does not hit hard but will wear you down as it regens at a crazy rate. Look for the black swords (It had a GLOWING BLACK SWORD and a normal fine steel sword when looted)

Me and a chanty friend were campin a spire in SK (I was helpin him lvl cause he couldn't find a group) we were both oom and meddin when A Undead Cyclops came over and killed the chanter in 4 hits. He left me, a DE necro alone though. It would have been kinda funny if he hadn't been my friend. So careful at spires (We were at South Spire but I dont think it matters which one.) cause he hits hard. Hehe but leave DE necros alone...

I have recently completed a tour of duty in S Karanas from levels 19 through to 26 and have a few insights I'd like to share on the ongoing KFC vs Splitpaw loot row.
At KFC levels 19 to 22 I soloed The egrets,darters and rooks...with harriers at level 21-22.The exp was great (made 2 levels in 4 hours) and the loot was as follows:
6 amber...1 plat =change each I think.
3 topaz
5 ivory
4 bronze weapons ( 2 plat each}
8(yes 8) jade at 4 pp each
ice of velious
8 pages selling from 3gp each
6 pearls.
The gems aside, I made 34 plat in coin. In total after selling all the loot this amounted to roughly 150 plat, give or take a few.
At paw the mods were harder though a level 22 beastlord could solo fairly easily. I looted 13 fine steel, some belts, gloves and tunics and a bucket full of eyes.monetary loot was better than KFC....68 plat in the same 4 hours for a total of 147 plat. made a level here too.
The best way I have found to make money in S Karana is to kill Aviak darters....they often have gems, many of which can't be bought at a vendor so sell well to jewelers.

though admittedly not easily, my 27 Gnome Warrior is able to handle these guys (with typical warrior downtime)
But if you think it's great at the spires, you should try Inside Paw-More enemies (more loot/exp), exp bonus (dungeon), plus even some special dungeon loot (deeper into splitpaw)
Paw is a great place if you can get a group together!

So goto Rm or Fm. for the Paladin up above...no your not l33t...paladins cant be 1337 rofl. these things are just extremely weak.

These things hit suprisingly to mages and i am lookin for some companions to go against them and sooner or later i will leave my guild and make one concerning the lord of the rings.... Fine Steel Staff, the critter with this was able to stun really easily. The staff also sold for plat more than the other items to the centaurs

The argument between KFC and out side of PAW is easy it depends on if there is a spire open or if KFC has a group. If you are not a pulling class KFC is goning to challenge you. Don't belive me you solo there. PAW is a great partner spot a PAlly Ranger combp or 2 pet classes rule here. Also my favorite is the icky monk/bard combo that is non stop exp.

I was camping splitpaw with a group of 4 other people, and after awhile a Helle Splitpaw-Haunt dropped off this gnoll at the spires. I have no clue what it does, neither did anyone in the group. I think it is kinda rare because i only saw the 1 I got. Also when you read it it tells you somethin bout how a god made gnolls I think. The message is in common. If anyone knows what this is for tell me plz.

The Helle Splitpaw-Haunt is an item needed for the gem inlaid gauntlent quest

I think that it works as sort of a wildcard for the other tanned splitpaw skins to turn in for the gem inlaid gauntlet quest. I had one of these and then looted skins numbers 2, 3, and 4. When i checked my inventory the next time and read it, it read just like the number 1 skin that i was missing. I figured what the heck and turned the four of them in to see if it would work and voila! I was set to make the run to Freeport to get the book bound.

I've seen a couple of those too. Since they're lore, I wonder if they'll be part of some new quest....
At first, I thought it was in German or Dutch & I just had the settings wrong. Lol!

i can solo the gnolls at spires at 23 as a beastlord, they are red to me, but i can take em down. they hit for 58's, you should be fine with 1 more person, i have a pet so i can hang back and med/heal

What lvl could i solo a spire as a monk with jmace, stave of shielding, FBSS, some acrylia reinforced and studded armor, i think i have about 820HP, currently lvl 26.
now, or a couple lvls back, you should be fine....make sure FD is maxed for when you get jumped :)

I'm a Rogue, I don't even have a book to look at.
SoW I buy it in a bottle and support my Shammy Friends most of the time. At times I do plead for a SoW for a CR or just to have a safer run throgh KF, but I ask PC's by their name after doing a "/who". I have even sit out during a Dru,Shm,Rng group fighting and do the last 25% kill of the MoB. I dont' think I have ever been turned down.
But then I know it's not a Dru or a Shammy that is giving me a SoW or buff. It's a person. Of course there are AsHo's in the game, they are most likly just like that in real life. In LR a level 56 Cleric watched me fight a losing battle and when I died offered a 90% Rez for 200pp.
I can live without a SoW and I have looted my cold dead body without a Rez a lot of times, including that time.
But then I'm like this in real life, I don't think anyone has to give me anything, I hate beggers in the game and out of the game.

I mean I thought of all of the different things each of the different classes had to offer and what finnally made up my mind to play a druid is all of the ******** and moaning that i heard about them. I figured well these guys are not liked by very many ppl so it should be easy to get a full group with them. He he unless you have tried it yourself you would never believe how well a group of 5 druids and a bard works. I was level 20 when I rounded up 4 other druids who were between lvl 18 and 22 from my guild then we met a lvl 21 bard, we proceded to camp all 3 of the spires in SK (granted there wasn't anyone else in the zone) we stayed there as our group for 5 hours when i left i was lvl 24. I don't care what any of you twinked to $hit warriors have to say. There is no way you can gain the exp for the amount of time that we do by having a full group of the same class. And by all means please write down your names and servers for all of the druid haters that way when we see you shouting out "can i get a sow for CR" we know to shout "LAUGHS".

A good strategy for making lots of money off of stuff no one really wants to loot like Dagger of Dropping, SP Belts and whatnot that sell for like 3 gold(and I'm a bard with 110 cha and faction song!) is to go to NK to sell all your merch to the guy in the tower by wizzy spire then send auctions selling all the 3 gold items, charge like 1 pp per pierce, sell like hotcakes, normally before I can even zone back into SK =)

this gnoll spawns somewhere and then procedes past the hermits house killing all the newbies there and then going on south I think. He usually hits for around 50 so casters beware. this information might be wrong so don't count on me.

On my first trip to the hermit, I had a water elemental all conjured up and was meditating the last few bulbs getting ready for the hermit. Suddenly, I found my pet has been attack THROUGH THE WALL (stupid design!). Sure if enough it was this guy. At level 22 I realized that my pet was a goner, but I didn't think he was able to cross the wall to get me. Sure enough he "leaped" the wall or whatever MOBs do to physical obstacles. Next thing I know, I'm back to level 21 and rememming my spells.

Does it even still take this path? I camped the hermit for a week and never did it show up. True half the time I was supercamoed but in that time I think I would have been attacked at least once seeing as how after I tried hiding on the chimney (yes I jumped the roof and sat on the chimney and I'm a halfling so anyone can get up there) and lost half my life getting back down I always sat at the wall well inside the porported attack zone

I thought this was for posting about Gnolls!?! but whatever i've read enough random posts about how druids, necros, enchanters, rouges...etc suck/kick a$$ or a really mean. So didferent people think different things. who cares if u don't like druids dont talk to them. i think the "nice" druids that posted here deserve a little more respect. NO i haven't played a druid wiz or shaman so i don't know what it's like having sow or tp but they arn't neccasary just a extra nice thing. Also when i get a tp or sow for free it feel thankful and usually donate more than i would pay for a tp or port...(when i'm feeling nice and not greedy hehehe).Were all playing Eq to have fun i hope so let's keep it that way. One last thing. I really apriciate that druid's post on "Why Kite?" it was insiteful to not kite as the next person said and the next person was obviously cool too.
