The cell door to get to Ekeros is at -112,-62,-23. Jumped through bars with Monk per previous post, no key required. Had to use origin to get out of the room.

There are two locked cells .. one with a hole .. easy to get out of, the 2nd one I cannot get out of. If I have a Rogue or someone who can pick locks with me will that help? Or is there an easy way to get there? HELP .. the only thing I need is this Sapphire.

I did this last nite and found that My human Monk could stand between the bars and jump through them with no key, I hope this helps ya
did this the other night with level 32 monk - virtually everything in the dungeon was "green", a few light blues & blues. took along a high level cleric who basically kept me healed when needed (and, if everything in room was green just wiped the mat with them to save time). we cleared both rooms out four times before ekeros spawned - he spawned immediately after rathyl spawned, who came out of his cell completely into jail area and attacked - he was blue to me, took him out (he respawns immediately as rathyl reincarnate, a big skellie who was also blue); ekeros just stood around and watched the fight, then took him out - he was green. got the drop. rathyl, on the other hand, didn't drop diddly... anyway, enough rambling, i have my red sash!

I went to the ogre captain and got a shiny metal key and when I go to where Ekeros spawns it says that I dont have the key... I also have a guards keyring.. anyone know what key it actually is??

You have the right key, but do you have it in your cursor or in your inventory. It matters. I forgot to get it out of my inventory. I'm blonde at times, comes with being a wiz. We need that (C)rack </drool>.
So Sapphire of Souls is just the alternative name for Blackened Sapphire.

Enter in Najena and stay on the left side of the wall and follow it till you enter a torture room. Walk through the wall and there will be a path on your right till you see two doors. Choose the door on your right, head straight till you see a path on your right. Stick to the left side of the wall and you will see the Orge Captain(#9 on EQ AtlasMap), kill it and retrieve the key. Head back out and and go to #6 on EQ AtlasMap and drop into the trap and fall into a jail room. The wall of the jail has an opening, duck and crawl out. Move on to #11 on EQ AtlasMap and use the key to open the bars with the magicians inside. Kill all the magicians in that room.(so called waiting room for Rathye) Ekeros has a placeholder, which is the magician in the right hand side corner. Ekeros is a rare spawn, so be patient. Spawn time is about 20 minutes. Good luck.

(Optional: You can also pick up a key from Orge Guard before you head down.(Name of key is called guard's keyring. Main use for that key is when you drop into the traps you can open the jail doors.)

Ekeros spawns in the waiting room outside of Rathyl's room, in Najena. It's in the jail area, off to the side, and requires a key to open. The middle magician is his ph. Ekeros seems to be relatively uncommon, too, though he has always dropped a sapphire for me (8 times) and he holds it in his hand. It looks like your average EQ ice cream cone when held. I kept a pair for my shd. ^^
And as to the mana regeneration thing... ermn... where did that idea come from? =P

I believe it is for the red sash quest for monks. That gives it some sale value.
