It is looking more and more like Vivian Rhodes never made it away. She wrote a letter to Pannisa telling him to meet her at the Sailor's Graveyard, but she gave the letter to Dessigon to take to the Abandoned Fortress, a scary place full of pirates! So Dessigon failed to deliver the message, Pannisa did not meet her that night and she is probably dead or worse. All because Dessigon was too frightened to do her part.

Amazingly, Dessigon seems to totally miss the point about Pannisa not getting the message that night.

So it looks like Vivian and Laranus, her maid, planned to escape together with the help of Pannisa.
