This is a fixed duration time root unlike all the druids other roots.

Actualy the other druid roots do have a fixed duration, just this one has a longer duration then the other ones. (Entrapping Roots has a 3 min duration for example)

Larnex 60 Druid Bristlabane

The Darkness is comming, are you ready?

I think you are confusing fixed duration with max duration.

Most druid roots are max duration - meaning they can be broken early.

Fixed duration means it can't be broken.
Mana Cost

The other nice thing about this root is that the mana cost is 50% less than the level 61 no damage root. So, not only is it effective when rooting mobs that summon, but you can do it for half the mana cost.

A druid root without a damage component?

I have found these non damage roots make chanters happy, also with the much lower resist they own in pvp and on high lvl pve. Although i still use my lvl 56 root on lower mobs because it lasts longer and does 193 damage a pop.
