You say, 'Hail, Wanderer Astobin' Wanderer Astobin says 'Greetings traveler. I am Wanderer Astobin, warden of nature and guardian of Tunare's most blessed and sacred of treasures -- life and balance. I have pledged my existence to upholding this vow and even here, that vow remains. Though I no longer carry my scimitar or scout the wilds of the world as one of its many guardians, my pledge shall remain whole through my guidance of others whose pledge is akin to mine. If you are a druid -- your deity matters not -- then allow me to guide you if I may. What spells I have scribed are for you to search through and purchase should you find them worthy of your abilities. If through your travels in the outer planes you discover incorporeal items seemingly of an arcane nature, do not disregard them. I am well-trained in the ways and manner of planar magic and will be more than willing to turn these fledgling arcane items into tangible spells suited for those of druidic vows.' Ethereal Parchments give level 61 and 62 spells. Spectral Parchments give level 63 and 64 spells. Glyphed Rune Words give level 65 spells. Wanderer Astobin respectfully accepts the item, holding it in his hands like one would a delicate and priceless relic. His eyes scan its every surface in a detailed study before he closes his eyes and begins to weave a chant of unknown dialect and origin. As the druid's voice filters softly through the area, the object in his hand begins to fade into this existence, its intangible state destroyed beneath the druid's magic. Runes begin to appear upon the fully manifested scroll -- runes of a druidic decent. The druid ceases his chanting and then slowly hands the item to you, 'This is a spell of great power. Use it wisely and with caution, for to abuse the gifts of nature is to corrupt our sole purpose.' | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Find Researcher Kaeon located inside the factory (+33, -220, +4 - inside factory, first door to the left/east).
You say, 'Hail Researcher Kaeon'
Researcher Kaeon says, 'Salutations. We have been monitoring your performance in the scrap yards. Your ability seems to rival your physical capabilities. We would like to test your endurance and mental abilities further. Would you comply to endurance testing?'
You say, 'I will comply to endurance testing'
Researcher Kaeon says, 'Excellent. We would like to test a maximum of six at one time. Are you ready to begin testing?'
You say, 'We are ready'
Researcher Kaeon says, 'Excellent I will now send you down to the testing bay. Assistant Kelrig will be there shortly with further instructions.'
You and your group will be ported into a square room with eight alcoves. After a two to three minute wait, six waves of clockwork spiders (3-8 at a time) will spawn and attack. The spiders are relatively simple -- gadgets, devices, and contraptions hitting for a max of 200 (most hit for 100 or so).
After you have gone through six waves, Assistant Kelrig spawns. He will ask you if you wish to leave or continue. (dialogues?) and gives you some text about how well you're holding up, and asks if you want to leave, or continue. You can repeat this process until the fourth wave, upon completion you will see:
Assistant Kelrig says, 'Excellent. This data will be of great use to us. Thank you for your time. Goodbye.'
You are ported out to the graveyard.
Loot is dropped on the final wave of each stage off regular spiders. Ethereal Parchments, Spectral Parchments, Polished Tin Mail Coif, Wire Mesh Drape, Elemental Divining Rod are among the rewards.

all i get is duplicates is the quest bugged?all i get is 2 spells and when i do it again i get duplicates all the time

am I stuck with dupicate spells or is there a way to turn duplicates back in for a different spell? I have 4 EP atm for an alt and was lucky enough to not have more than 1 or 2 duplicates when I was 61-65. Hunting in BoT I usually come away with 2-3 EPs a night and the occasional SPs for alts.

runes drop off of named mobs in teir 3 and 4 zones. I reccomend BoT as a place to get ur runes. Runes drop off of the Wing mobs at US(Gaukyr Sandstorm), East(Oreen Wavecrasher), North(Laef Windfall) and West( Hyrieder something or other lol i cant spell this guys name). Runes also drop in the towers which takes a raid force of about 30 people give or take a few depending on the skill and level of ytour raid. the wing mobs are level 65 and hit for 700ish. it takes 1 solid group to kill a wing mob. the tower mobs I.E Auliff Chaoswind is level 66-67 and hits for 900-1100dmg. The rune is not a common drop though so you might have to give it a few tried before it even drops. These named mobs also have pretty nice loots. For druid/shaman/cleric classes i would recommend going on Tclap raids to get a cap of the downed souls. It is a head slot item and has some kick butt stats on it including a butt load of wisdom/mana and flowing thought 2. well theres my 2 cp.

Ok.. so who knows where to find the Rune drops for 65 level spells. And how hard are they to get. Eth drops are common enough. And I have moderate success getting Spec drops in HOH. But have yet to see any rune drops. Just wondering

One dropped off of a lorak froggy tonight in POS. Didnt win the roll though better luck next time I will need it for my level 61 spells!

Just got my first Etheral Parchment today at level 55. Can I turn it in now, or must I wait until level 60?
Gratz!!! You can turn the patchents in at 46 (46 being the lowest you can be to get them)just be sure to turn it in to the right NPC for your class to get your class spell...

How many Parchments do I turn in to get spells Just one or more?
Just found out that you turn in ONE patchment to get ONE spell just FYI for anyone else who might have this quesion in the future...

Eth parchments can be found just about anywhere. Had one drop last night in PoI Factory, have seen a few from PoJ Basement, and multiple from POStorm, Valor and so forth.

Dropped an Ethereal Parchment the other day...
Well folks, I heard this lovely rumor about turning in parchments. I heard that if you had a spell scribed in spellbook, upon turning in parchment, you would receive a spell NOT in your book... not true. Had two more spells left for 61 and 62 and turned in parchment to get a duplicate and not one of the two that I needed. So, rumor is squashed... Good Luck to you all!
The Castle area right or left are excellent spots for etheral parchment drops.

The Plane of Disease 'camps': Left Castle (LC) and Right Castle, as well as Stairs. I've found a few Ethereal Parchments from the named and semi-named slimes (a pile of swamp bile, a putrid pile of flesh, and Rankle) in PoDisease. However, I've seen Ethereal Parchments drop more frequently from frogs in PoStorms.
