AOE Question
# Sep 26 2003 at 4:43 PM Rating: Decent
It says under limitations:
"Limit: Target(AE PC v1 excluded)"

I have no idea what this means, but PLEASE tell me it doesn't mean that target-based aoe's are excluded?

Just what I figure these mean...
AE PC v1: PC based AoE. Like the druid earthquakes, mage fire fluxes, and wizard cold blasts. The ones that are centered on you and blast outward aren't affected by this (boy I wish they were... level 19 druid with improved damage I could make a ton of cash)
PB AE: Point-Based AoE. Rain spells. Imagine the hate your wizard would get dealing more damage with these things...
Targeted AE: Lightning strikes and columns are out, which makes sense. I could quad kite seafuries as a 45 druid if i could get an extra 30-40 damage out of my aoe.
Uber giants and dragons: It just bothers me that, while they use abbreviations and stuff all over the place, they make sure to tell us we can't blow up naggy.

Hope this helps... and lowers some prices on those focus items so I can finally buy some good ones :P

The same focus effect, or another of the same line will not stack. for example, Improved damage 3 will nto stack with improved damage 4, or any of the element specific focus effects like anger of e'ci. However, focus effects that do DIFFERENT things will stack. For example, you could stack this with mana preservation 3, and spell haste 3, and all 3 would work. It would cast faster, for less mana, and do more damage.
Messed up %?

This effect say it adds 20% to DD spells.

As a level 57 chanter, I have the Robe of Tempest which has this effect.

My DD spell normally does 645 damage. With this robe, it does 703 damage. Nice increase, but it isn't 20%. That is actually 9%

If it really was 20% it would do 774 damage.

Any ideas?

Improved damage does up to 20% more damage. Not a full 20% each time.

Improved Damage 3 adds 20 per cent to direct damage spells. If you're a level 65 wizard, this is huge.

Improved Damage 3 does not apply to damage over time spells, or procs off weapons. This information is based field-testing I did with the White Dragonscale Cloak.

The effect is also AoE beneficial for the group. You cast it on the mob and the attack bonus is given to all group members in radius =)
Manaburn

I'm a level 45 Wizard, and bought a Jungle Spider Fur Cap not knowing that I could not equip it yet. =\

I let a buddy use it on a raid, and he Manaburns for 12k regularly... with this, he Manaburned for almost 15k. This item affects Manaburn, Ancient spells, and critical blasts.

Get an item with this effect as soon as you can. Smiley: bowdown

effect of improved damage on shadowknights

Does improved damage have any effect on the "lifetap" line of spells? Does it affect harmtouch damage of a shadowknight?

My Sk of Fennin Ro (Malkiah)has this mask, and yes it does work on the SK Lifetap/Harmtouch spells/abilities.
Truly an awesome mask for SK's...just my two cp's.
