At 60, a 40 str debuff tremendously helps a soloing sk. I've been using it in the Hole grinding aa and noticed a big drop in mobs damage when dotted with this spell.

Looking ahead in the spells list, this is the best DOT we get until 54. Enjoy it, it is pretty killer.
Say what? You don't think Ebolt, Splurt, Ignite Blood, or plague are better than this? Each of which are better in their own way than this spell. Splurt, low agro, low mana cost, high damage. Ebolt, faster damage.. ignite blood, low resist chance for npc, high damage over time.
If you're soloing as a necro and level 49 or higher, don't waste your time on this dot unless you have serious mana to burn. It has only a standard resist check, and the effect is pretty crappy on npcs. The total damage done is not that impressive at 690 for 210 mana. Not saying this isn't a good spell at 44, but you'll get better stuff way before 54.
