The rats in Droga (EOK) cast this but at level 110 rabies is just an itch.
The rats are not KoS and will wander into your goblin fights without assisting, providing you don't catch one in an AoE nuke.

It's not that bad, I don't even take dmg from this. HP regen keeps up with it easily. It's more of an annoyance.

Where you really notice it is that while this spell is on you, you can't do the accelerated hp regen from medding

That's right - you're in a weakened state, so you get no accelerated mana or hp regen. In other words, you're reminded of how we all *used* to have to play everquest back in the day, without some hyper-accelerated mode of recovery that folks take for granted now.

It's interesting to note though, that precisely because of this out-of-combat status, rabies is now far more damaging - not only to hp recovery, but mana as well.

I believe the effect lasts roughly 45 minutes. There are potions that can remove disease, but they are hard to find in the bazaar, unfortunately. If you can find any, stock up, and give some to your alt's, too.

Something you *might* want to try: crytalized pumice (buy from alchemist merchants) will dispel effects off of you. Click off all friendly buffs, target yourself, and right-click on the pumice stone. Probably won't work, but what the hell, it's worth trying. At least you can use the pumice later (since there's 5 charges to a stone, and it works on dispelling (most) buffs off of enemy mobs too).

Good luck!
