I just came across (and killed) a sand mummy. Had been killing in the area for hours, trying to encourage Erg Bluntbruiser to show is ugly mug. Hadn't come across this guy before, and looked him up. Sorry to disappoint, but an ancient cyclops has also been up, for at least an hour. Sighted a sand mummy at around 1 AM game time.

I agree that this might very well be a PH for the Ancient Cyclops but killing this mummy will NOT gurantee the spawn of the AC. I have killed this guy many many times in S Ro and not once has the AC spawned afterwards. This does not mean it is not a PH just means it doesn't always lead to the spawn of the AC. I've even seen two of these guys up at once before. Anyway good hunting.

this mob can be up while the AC is up, I have seen it, along with Terrorantula up when AC was up, SG up when AC poped, and I have seen Sand Gaint Husam up then AC pop, It's simple ...AC has NO PH...

I'm guessing he is programed in on a randomized timer that works in cumulative percentage.
spawns between 8pm ( EQ TIME ) and 7am
only on even numbered hours
only in the desert
I guess he has a percentage to spawn every hour.
Lets say 1 - 5 % chance every hour he is capable of spawning
10..12...2...4...6
ok and each time he doesn't spawn the new randomed percentage is added to the prior one and then rolled for, if it is in his percentage BLAM HE SPAWNS

i've seen this guy when he is being killed by a bard and a cleric, they are lvl 17. I'm lvl 44 and was waiting for the ac to pop. After they kill the mummy, i asked them what he has and they said a couple of silvers and coppers. and after a couple of hours, the ac still haven't pop, so i think this isn't really a PH

I killed him last night and within seconds the terrorula poped...

I tracked a sand mummy, something i had never seen before and killed it quite easily. The next thing i know the ac is on track, it had to have been a period of less than 5 seconds death and me hitting track. And of course a sowed sk ksed it from me because my dots were too slow.

If your camping the AC, and you see this guy, don't waste your time hunting the AC further. Although almost all the undead mobs in the zone help the spawn of the AC, this guy is the actual PH for the AC. In other words, if this guy doesn't pop, the AC will.
