Each day I see more mercenaries come to Kael, seeking their fortunes . King Tormax will use your kind to wage war on the dragons and upon the Coldain. But I question the motives of your kind. You say, 'I will wage war on the Dragons an Coldain' Vorken Iceshard says 'So your cause is to destroy the dragons as King Tormax says? If you wish to be noticed by King Tormax, you must do great deeds. You say, 'I will do great deeds' Vorken Iceshard says 'If you expected to come to Kael Drakkel and immediately have an audience with the king, you are a bigger fool than most. Go out and slay the weaker members of dragonkind. That might gain his favor. If you do hunt the wurms and drakes, you may be able to please me as well. You say, 'what motives?' Vorken Iceshard says 'My motives are simple. I will acquire as much power and prestige as possible before I die. Such is life for me, a constant search for power and wealth. But my great power and wealth have not brought me happiness. Enough of my motives, what drives you? A constant search for more power, a search for security and happiness? Or do you truly believe in the rhetoric of King Tormax which advocates that we eradicate the dragons? You say, 'how can I please you as well?' Vorken Iceshard says 'In my youth, I was bitten by a very intelligent wurm named Bllizent. My brother and I were foolish enough to try to slay the great beast. He tasted my flesh and the flesh of my brother that day and I fear he liked it too much. I have nightmares of this beast's return to taste me again. I would rest easier at night if I knew Bllizent was dead and gone. He will be quite an elderly wurm if he is still alive today. Blizzent can be found in the Great Divide. 57 luminary runnin around killing coldain and what is this? some stupid dragon claws me... dumb dumb, me being with KEI, FM and a full set of deadly dots on hand. epicdot/slow/bane of nifex4/evenomed bolt... he was down very fast and i looted the peicer not knowin its purpose. this quest sucks anyone want this belt? i want da faction )

Blizzent was a pushover. At 56 he was dark blue to me. A curious mage (unknown level) was camping him when I came along and asked if he needed the fang Blizzent dropped. He said no, and both of us being unfamiliar with the mob, we joined forces for safety to see what the wurm put out. Mage chain casted earth pet (x3) and I dropped about 5 Blizzards and a scoriae on it and one cast of ES vambraces and it went down. Hit me a couple times when I got too close. Highest he hit me for with me at 741 ac (druid) was 80 dmg. Kinda wimpy... I'm guessing Blizzent had about 8 to 10k in hp. I had no resists on any of my spells. Every single one landed, even blizzards hit for full damage everytime which is odd if you're a druid, knowing how often we tend to get resists and partial resists on our rain spells. Blizzent dropped the fang and a words scroll, no cash.
Now if I could only find Vorken Iceshard... Spent 2 hours running all over Kael with tracking searching for him. He was nowhere I could find. Found Klaggan Iceshard, his brother, in Iceshard Manor, hailed him and he told me to get lost (amiable con). Noticed there was a generic "a frost giant lord" at Klaggan's right side. Wonder if this guy is a PH for Vorken, like how Captain Bvellos has a "Kael Militia Captain" as his PH. I wonder? The only place I didn't look in Kael was where Vindi roams. Red con, scowling, headed toward me. You begin to cast gate....

Vorken is located at neg 812 pos 1144. This is in the Iceshard Keep. He is not always there; I think what happens is guildraids clear them out, then a timer is set so a placeholder will be there until enough time has passed, then he will spawn again.
Just today (11/11/01) I checked early in the day and he was not there, but later in the day he was.

My experience today with Blizzent - me being a 50th level druid with ES Vambraces - dropped him in 25 minutes. As the wiz says below, his MR wasn't so hot, and he didn't resist any of my 3 ensnares, and barely any of my many many roots. I just slowly rotted him with Drones of Doom, Ro's Fiery/Immolate. Even got whack-happy and started nuking him at the end. He dropped the fang and a research item.

Indifferent faction is not enough to do this quest... So dont try, you'll just waste the fang.

Thanks for the warning.. I was about to sneak cheat the quest since I have the tooth in the bank. A couple of 50+'s sent a shout about any meleers in the zone to come and loot it...apparently didn't know about the quest or couldn't run it because of faction, I picked it up up thinking it was a half decent piercer and all I had at the time as far as piercing was a dirk of the traitor(nice weop BAD proc). If anyone has any info about how to get around the faction thing I would greatly appreciate it.

I did this with my 52 cleric and a 52 ranger friend. Just fear/snare and the ranger *eventually* killed him. I was at 80% mana at the end of the fight, and we were both at full HP.

I tried to solo him with my lvl 54 wiz. I took him to about 55% hp before I had to root/med, root/med for mana. at the end of 30 minutes he was at about 25%hp and my computer froze for maybe the 3rd time in 2 years of playing eq (boo). Bastid smoked me. I can laugh now so all is good <grin>. His resists were basically non existant for root/snare and my lightning based dd. I had one resist the whole time on a root. He hit for about 125.

Yeah apparently he's pretty easy to spot when he's up since he's the only red (brown, whatever) colored wyrm around. My good friend killed him at level 52, he was a blue con, but his faction is not high enough yet for Vorken to give him the quest so I've told him he probably shouldn't try returning it until it is.

Blizent is a named drake that roams around in the great divide. He is brown in color and con'd blue to a level 54..no spell casting or summoning though. He dropped a spear named Blizent's tooth or something to that affect.

Shame i am kos to giants :( i got the fang off him was pretty easy to kite at 53 druid got the fang and its no drop so i cant do it sorry :(
