Sarth Scarscale is located underground in the Shadowknight/Shaman guildhall, in the basement of the east tower.
You say, 'What bracer?' Sarth Scarscale says 'Have you ever seen Bloodgills? I hear they will devour a broodling in seconds and that their scales are tough as iron. Bring me some of these scales, a banded bracer, and a sapphire as blue as the sky. Only then will I give the bracer to you, broodling.' - Bloodgill Scales drop off bloodgill goblins and foragers in the Lake of Ill Omen, near the underwater entrance to Veksar. - Banded Bracer is player made (Smithing, trivial 95) - Sapphire is sold by jewelry merchants, and also drops off various creatures. Upon turn-in: Sarth Scarscale says 'Well done! Here is the item we agreed upon. May Cazic's glorious curses flow through you!' Reward(s): You gain experience!! Am I not allowed to have 2? Nothing on the Dreadscale bracer that I currently have indicates that it's lore, but it ate my sapphire when I tried to turn in another banded bracer, sapphire (storebought) and bloodgill scale, exactly as I did the first time.

There are some classic quests where the reward chance is not set to 100%. Sometimes they will reward nothing.
This might be one of those quests.

When going to zone, then to quests, this is listed as good for all, should be changed to Shadowknights only.

You cannot use that sapphire, it is lore and used in the soldier pike upgrade quest for warriors.

Turned in all three pieces required for the bracer and got nothing back. Is this a bug or something else can anyone answer.

No, you have to go down the opposite side as the side with the locked rooms, and Sarth & Sirth Scarscale are in the first room at the bottom, talk to them.

This Quest was cake..first off go to Lake of ill Omen and kindly ask to loot the bloodgill scales near the goblin ruins from a stronger group that is camping them.,Get the saphire at the jewelry shop near bank, for around 154 pp (what i paid). and 3rd ask someone to make you a bracer and pay em around 20 pp. There you go 3 items.. for one bad *** bracer.

i looked into it and both the saphire and emerald(lore versians) are use for the soldiers pike for warriors quest. the quest also about a ruby(lore) but that is used by forging the thick skull and forging hammer. hope this helps to clear some confusion

If you hang out near the shore long enough you will see the 35+ killing the bloodgills and they will let you loot the bloodgill scaled becasue they are not for any other quest that I know of!
And like people said IT MUST BE A STORE BOUGHT gem. It cost me about 127pp per Sapphire at 60 CHA.

The sapphire from Kurns is NOT the one for this quest. Every piece of dreadscale is obtained using store bought gems from a vendor. I'm sure that this is the problem that several posters are having. I repeat, you must use a sapphire from a vedor.

tried to turn the stuff in, again i didnt get anything back again. AAArrgg this is twice it happened. Does anybody know why? 1 bloodgills scale, 1 bracer and 1 sapphire

At the building next to the bank, there are 2 vendors that sell gems. Between the 2 of them, they sell every gem (that is not loot only like the Black Pearl), including all those needed for these armor quests.

Where do I get the sapphire?
I got a sapphire from (can't remember exactly which) but either the skeleton cook or the thick boned skeleton in Kurn's Tower. They also drop skeleton feet for the boot quest as well so keep a watch out for them.

no, you can not use the sapphire from kurn's. if you click on it and read the discription, you will find that it is lore. don't make the mistake of wasting alot of good quest item's for multiple quests by handing that in(that sapphire is only for the one war. pike quest.) hope i cleared some confusion and saved a few folks from a bit of frustration. 8D

All the posts here do a great job of identifying where the items required can be found. But I am confused about the exact quantities of the gems and the scales. Is it 2 scales and 1 gem, or 2 gems and 1 scale? I read it as 2 scales and 1 gem, but how is this possible if the scales are Lore items? Please help.

This question has been answered again and again. One of the Bloodgill Scales (which shows as 5 red scales on the icon for it), one sapphire, and one banded bracer.

Friend of mine on Tunare turned in the items and got no message and no bracer. We were thinking maybe he requires 2 saphires. I will be holding my bloodgill scales till somone can verify the items for me.

When you turn in the pieces to get the bracer, make sure you put each Bloodgill Scale in a separate slot in the trade screen. If you give the npc the scales stacked, it will not work.

i did this one today nice midle item love the color, this was about the ezest of the quest to do, bloodgills are in the lake of ill omen. bracer is ac 8 dex 3 sv fire and cold 2 and darkgreen, fashioned after cab scale

I believe they drop off the Bloodgil Goblins in Lake of Ill Omen. They are underwater in Lake. 2 of them there, one connec even at 36 and the other was red. So I can't take em yet.

Where and what are the bloodgills that drop the scales?

Bloodgill goblins can be found in the Lake of Ill Omen (in the lake itself). There are two varieties. The common bloodgills range in the mid to high 30's and the rarer, tougher ones are about level 40. I haven't hunted them and only explored down there briefly but they all seemed to be non-roaming, situated around a sunken building, and stationed in pairs if I remember right.

Not good. I guess I might have to change my iksar's name.... Dreadscale. He's level 20 so its not like he tried to steal it =). Perhaps I can sue Verant for copyright infringement. What sucks is Dreadscale can't WEAR Dreadscale armor because he is a WARRIOR! ARGH. BTW, I also have an iksar Necro named Deadscale. hehehe.

My char on bertox is Draconius Dreadscale and I have already spoken to a gm they said it is not a problem at all. said i have no worries about name change unles i start claiming the armor was named after me lol.
