Robe of the Elements  

Completed today on Rizlona TLP server during Classic era.

The quest description states:

I had the opportunity to turn the quest in 4 times, and intentionally put the items in different order on each turn in. I received the robes without any issue on all 4 characters. There is no specific order required.

Bah, fairy faction is so light when you kill em, killed about 100 fairy's before i got my power of fire, cloak dropped a couple of times, saw two silks for wiz quest. dont worry about faction, after 100, i went from appre to appre.....

can a 48 warrior do this quest without much trouble?

Do you get bad faction for killing the faeries in gfay? I noticed on an earlier post that you don't in Lfay?

What does Robe of the Elements look like? I think I wanna do this quest in about 3 or 4 more levels.

I decided to do this quest after I got a couple mage stuff from people in exchange for porting them. I looked up the quest and it said it'd take 6 hours, not bad. I ported over to Lavastorm and a level 52 Warrior wanted a port. I asked him if he wanted to help me get the Flame Pelt, he said, "Why not." So we went in, I found a couple on track but couldn't find them. Eventually two came storming in the room and the first one he killed dropped the pelt, I looted it and he said he was having fun and would help me with the rest of the quest. We went over to lfay found the faerie camp (mushrooms) and first guard he killed there dropped a twice woven cloak and twice woven silk i looted both. So it was off to Permafrost we went. We both went ld and when i came back there was a vox raid going on. They were clearing the zone and at the entrance to the zone the frost pelt was right there for the looting and the guy there told me to go ahead and loot it. It was off a regualar "ice goblin." After this the quest was easy.

Is there a way to cut the timespan shorter? I can't do a quest for 6 hrs. Or is there a way to do it in 2 or 3 days...or does it have to be done in one.

This is my story about how a wrong turn in Lesser Faydark put me on the quest for (que booming voice and music) "The Robe of Elements Quest".

Like I was saying, I took a wrong turn in LF when Verant was introducing a new level involving the Pestilence god. Talk about bad timing! All I wanted was a short trip from GF to Steamfont to pickup some stuff (I've long forgotten what) and instead went through two hours of CR hell because I was clotheslined by a red CONing Undead Sprite Horror and didn't know where my corpse was. After finally getting higher level help from a friend, I made my way back through LF to Steamfont. However, what would a see on the road but an Undead Sprite Horror corpse! Not knowing if it was the same bastich that got me earlier that night (they all look alike), I decided to loot it on a lark. Apart from some loose change the Sprite had a Twice Woven Cloak which I later found was part of a Mage-related robe quest. Sadly, the other requirements weren't nearly as readily available so I socked it away and waited until I hit the early twenties.

By the time I'd DINGed twenty two, I traveled as far away as the Karanas and was starting to look at the zones where the other pieces to the Robe of Elements (RoE) were. One was waaay in Permafrost and the other lay in the bowels of SolA. I'd already tried running to Permafrost and started checking it out, but things got too rough and there really wasn't a lot people there my level who I could group with and get this Ice Goblin Skin. So I waited until level 24.

The second time I went to Permafrost I binded myself just inside the zone (no turning back now) and started pulling the Goblins near the front. They had good loot, but I understood that only IG Elite Guards dropped the Skin (false) and I had to go further in. Luckily I grouped with one higher level person who graciously let me get deeper into Permafrost and let me loot from the goblins. One Ice Goblin dropped the Skin and I was set. This turned out to be great timing since shortly after that my benefactor went LD and suddenly I felt very alone in Permafrost.

After running back to civilization and tossing the IG Skin into the bank, I legged it past Nektulos Forest and into Lavastorm and Solusek's Eye. Once again I binded just inside the zone and scoped things out. SolA was at first waaay tougher than Permafrost (the Goblins CON'd blue right from the start, I didn't know the layout and spawn points) plus it was almost deserted just like PF! However, it did fill up later that night and I stumbled upon a kind group that allowed my to join them. I had a blast! We pulled like there was no tomorrow! We pulled the named Fire Drake, Singe, twice and nothing but Goblins, Goblins and more Goblins. They were gracious enough to let me loot everything and even gave me cool stuff to boot! Finally after I camping that spot for close to an hour (and DINGing level 25) one of the Flame Goblins dropped a Fire Goblin Skin. I had so much fun, I stayed an hour longer and pulled and looted until I could barely walk.

Shortly thereafter, I purchased a scroll of Elemental Armour at Freeport, gated back to SolA and walked to the Temple. I gave Joyce the pieces of the quest and was rewarded with a brand new Robe of Elements!


In addition to visiting new zones, interacting with new people and getting new stuff I learned quite a few things. First off, new zones are scary! I had to navigate through two dungeons that I'd never been to. Not knowing where I was and where the next spawn would be coming from was *really* frightening. Gosh forbid I was killed deep in Permafrost or SolA and couldn't reach my corpse (there was almost always one or two Goblins roaming the halls and they'd start swarming over me when I lost my Invis when I started looting my corpse). The second thing is that it pays to be sociable. I don't think the person/people who helped me would've done so if I didn't start engaging in friendly conversation and then kindly asking for any locations of IG Skins. It's nice to know that friendly people exist after all in EQ.

Anyway, that's all. Sorry for the excessive wordage. I have the RoE and now I'm going back to Greater Faydark. Back when I was tenth level, I was talking to another Gnome by the PoD lift and mentioned to him that I was getting tired of my original yellow Mage guild robe. He ends up giving me a Flowing Black Robe which I've used until now. Maybe I can find a similiar Gnome who felt the same way I did...

If you have the "new" LF on your server the twice woven cloak drops of of any of the crop. sprites. In less than 30 mins last night I had two drop both the cloak and the silk. Becarful if under level 30 thes mob up fast, with a VERY LARGE asst. range and hit hard. Much harder than there con,most green to a 34 druid, would make you think. DD for 151 and hit for 30+ with what seems to be a 3att. every other att. Also watch out for the black horse(unicorn?) will argo on any "good" and starts off with 400pt harm touch. Then proceeds to beat your a** to the tune of 60+ four times a att. Nice :-)

So all you level <25 looking to go get some ghast hearts word of info. Bring a coule of parties with you or be ready to die running for the zone

Thought I already posted this. But. The all new lfay drops the twice woven cloak and silk off the Undead sprite guards.. Got both off of one kill.. No faction hits;)
