Chanda and Baobob are usually hanging out at the campfire at the Surefall Glade zone although both of them will eventually wander into the zone usually towards the undead ruins or blackburrow.

If evil players are camping the millers you can usually get armor by POLITLY asking them in tell to leave one alive until you do your quest then it's best to send them a tell when you are done.

Boots and Belts can be quested by anyone who the millers don't attack but cloaks you need high indifferent possibly amiable faction to quest, this goes for bear or wolf cloaks.

There are ways to get karana residents faction but one of the simplest is to do the armor quests a few times, the belts come out about even if you vendor fodder them they sell for a tad more than the 5gp to quest them. Another is to vendor comb Qeynos for moonstones, many people do gnoll fangs then sell moonstones not knowing the next quest step; Buying moonstones about breaks even if you sell bb stout back to vendors. With shared bank the ranger mule is also a good idea maybe transfer some loot you got hunting to your mule to sell to get cash. The third route is to get a karana worshiping character OR an enchanter or bard above about level 15 to do the quest for you.

The cloaks do take a HQ bear pelt but then again its not really 30p or whatever UNTIL you sell it so if you are a druid or int caster it may be worth it, if not there is always the wolf cloak since HQ wolf pelts aren't worth much to tailors, you just get 5ac instead of 6.

The bear boots now have extended enhancement I making all buffs up to level 20 last about 15% longer; This is spell level not caster level so if you have these say at level 30 they will still work for your low level spells like invis or sow or whatever.

Boots do not make you run faster, the exception are Journeyman Boots (quest involving ancient cyclops) or Traveller's Boots (5.2k off vendor in sol a) and some boots that are an interim reward for the shaman epic all of which by themselves don't make you run faster but do have effects you can activate which do.

Get your pelts in any zone, don't get them in Qeynos hills, there are level 40 or so NPCs who attack if you are fighting animals. For low levels there is Everfrost and for people above level 10 or so who want experience there are also wolves and bears in both commons, all karana zones, misty thicket, nek forest, and many other zones.

Chanda (the female) makes bear armor, Baobob (the male) makes wolf armor. The bear armor is preferred as bearhide armor has 1 more AC than the same type of wolfhide armor ie wolfhide boots AC4 bearhide boots AC5. To see if you have enough faction try asking either of them "what belt" "what boots" or "what cloak."

Pelt=Skin Vi/Sony kind of mix and matched the names skin and pelt see http://www.eqtraders.com/secrets/recipes_tailoring_armor.htm for a better explanation. You can hand them any amount of coin as long as it equals the amount needed so 1PP,5GP = 150SP = 1500CP = 15GP or whatever.

As for druids and rangers killing animals, remember that people like native americans killed animals when they needed to even though they claimed to be friends with animals, the key to properly roleplaying it is to use all of the animal so take the lower quality pelts and tailor them into patchwork and take the meat and make bear sandwiches or something rather than letting everything but the pelts you want rot. (Patchwork vendor sells for a profit as do bear/wolf sandwiches and both are good ways to start trade skills.)

I have an enchanter. its REALLY lame I cant fasion patchwork, but I CAN get this. as far as untwinked (and the focus on the boots) this is all RATHER nice. I dont know what that woman does to bear hide, but I like it.

just be careful of HOLLY WINDSTALKER or whatever. I think 'only' Verant would put a lvl 50ish zone right next to a noobie zone (LFEY and GFEY).

They Encourage young druids to kill wolves and bears (for this armor AND the rabid animal quest) THEN to have a higher lvl Holly slaughter you. Its cute. She slaughters you in the name of Tunare or something, for hurting the bears and wolves.

the boots with their new focus effect are very nice for any young caster =)

I have doen thsi many, both Bear Armor with Chandra and Wolf Armor with her brother

Stats as folows:

Wolf Belt ac 3

Wolf Boots ac 4

Wolf Cape ac 5

Bear Belt ac 4

Bear Boots ac 5 = EFFECT Exztended Enchatment 1 BEST ITEM OF ALL 6.

Bear Cape ac 6 - this oen is the only worthless item cuase it requires you pay get HQ bear pelt which you can easy sell for 20pp to 30pp and get your self a REAL nice cape.

i know u can get boots from a quest that make u go much faster, but is it a case of ,the better your boots , the faster u go? even if there not a magic item r anythin?

If your looking for the pelts, just got to Everfrost Peaks! 8 bears at a time i can fight, because theres so much! So if your trying to find bears in Qeynos, just go to Black Burrow and then to Everfrost Peaks. Good luck to you all and i hope my advice helps you!

I sure could use some advise from you seasoned veterans on how I can make my character run faster without the random gift of SoW. Will these boots speed him up a bit? My character "Tiernaan" on E'ci server is a half elf ranger lvl 7. He runs so darn slow even with just leather armour. Perhaps there are other items that will speed him up just a bit? Not looking for SoW speed (would be nice though if possible), just anything that will tune him up to a more realistic speed. I will go nuts if I have to wait till lvl (what.. 34?) to get SoW. Any advise would be appreciated. :-)

BY the way get a tp and go to the west or east commons by freeport the bear hunting is great there. Dont waste your time in the Q hills.
plus know one attacks you for attacking the bears and bear pelt drops or more common

None of the previous messages gave a location, the one that came close I think he was talking bears or something..Where exactly is she located? and at lvl 5 am I likely to live thru the experience? hehe...

I conned dubious to her and successfully did the belt and boots part of the quest. Then I gave her the HQ bear pelt (still dubious I was) and the 21 gp - and she told me I had to do more for the residents of the Karanas or for her family - and gave me nothing in return. :(

This is an excellent quest for the lvl you need to be to obtain the bear pelts. I just ran through the quest and came out with better items than I had previously, so if you can do this at lvl 8, go for it.
