A priest named Celsar Vestagon in the Temple of Marr is concerned with the danger to the Marr Minnow posed by the piranha. He wants you to go collect some for him and put them in a box. Go kill piranha in the pond by the Hall of Truth and fill the box. Combine it and return it to the priest for experience, copper, increased faction with Priests of Marr and sometimes an item.

The Piranha are more plentiful in Surefall Glade. You can either jump in the water with them, or nuke/range weapon from the safety of the shore. When all those are dead and looted, go behind the waterfall, jump in the next pool of water you come to, and you will probably aggro a couple more of them. One 27 min enduring breath spell was long enough to collect 6 fresh piranha.
Fresh piranha can also be caught/hunted in the lake in Surefall Glade. Thanks to a Bloodsaber Defiler that is trying to poison or corrupt the land....

I just did this quest 3 times, and on the first two tries got a few measly copper, but the third time I got a Marr's Sustenance -- a single-charge regen potion. Sweeeeet.

I took a negative faction hit with her when I killed piranhas. I don't know if it is the wizard at Academy of Arcane Science or the other one at the SK necro guilds. I have heard that there is a third.

First off your better off not to bother touching the minnows on the left of the Hall. Odds are they won't respawn as piranhas no matter what and you can even have up to 3 at a time. You'll just get frustrated and the guards do give boosts to their prescious fishies. I've also gotten KSed when I took my prey there.
To open the possiblity of another piranha on the right, if a minnow spawns, and not take a faction hit. The ones there do despawn but this is faster in the longer run than letting it work on it's own. When you are in the water and have a pirahna or two from the y-point DO NOT attack them. Swim toward the minnow and let them duke it out. The piranhas will not loose unless a guard comes by (their boosts are weak so minnows loose) and KS them. If the piranha does appears to be loosing boost if you can, it wont hit faction as long as you dont directly hurt the minnow. Once the minnow is dead finish off the piranha. When it respawns good chance it will be as a pirahna nd you'll know to head back to the y-point cause the other ones will spawn soon as well
...Enjoy and while your waiting for the spawn sit by the guards facing the spawn points and beg the guards, med, fish, etc. to occupy yourself and burn some time getting skills up.

How many bags would I have to turn in to go from Apprehensive to Indifferent in the Cleric guild(Priests of Marr)? -also- Does killing pirahnas lower faction with East and West FP guards a lot?

Do the minnows despawn so you can get a pirahna or are you kinda SOL if they are all minnows until you relog later?

I did this quest to raise my faction for the Ro Armor quests. Gave in 3 pouches went from indifferent to amiably, excellent quest for faction compared to the bone quest one in Qeynos. And it didn't lower my Freeport Militia quest that much anyways, it stayed at apprehensive.
There are 3 piranha spawns, spawn timer was like 5 minutes. Unfortunately sometimes a minnow, when killed will lower your good faction in Freeport:(,
spawns in the same place. When that happened I just created a human shadowknight and killed them with him, then logged back on to kill the piranha if it spawns.

This quest seems to be very nice for those dark races that want to be able to use something as nice as NFP. On my server this is where it all happens so getting my DE cleric none KOS and bankable is much more important to me. This is somethign nice that you should be able to do in order to increse faction once you become dubious. Just my 2cp.

I am trying to balance the faction of the Freeport citizens with my level 11 monk by handing in Deathfist Belts to both the Steel Warriors and Freeport Militia; however, when I hand them in to the Militia, my faction with Priests of Marr goes down, and I'm getting a bit worried, although they're currently indifferent. Is there another quest I can do besides this one to keep this faction from going down? (because this quest lowers with the Militia, and that could be hazardous)

You can turn in orc and gnoll scalps to the captains in Highpass for Freeport Militia faction, or goblin ears to the captain in Highkeep. No negative factions for these quests, but you get positive faction for corrupt Qeynos guards, Highpass guards, Freeport Militia, and a couple others.

This quest wouldn't take so long and would be better if the piranha were more numerous. I spent most of 2 hours waiting for the piranha to spawn.

3 minnow's are grouped off to the side - note don't let the guards see you killing them. I was killed for killing minnows so stuck to the piranna. every other spawn at the corner spot I had 2 piranna pop up. - There is also a minnow and piranna past the bridge around the corner abit. I noticed that this piranna doesn't span as often as the other's but if no one has been touching them it's there.

in other words, it sells for about 1GP in any cleric guild. it's not something you'd want to bring to EC to sell as a "lvl55 pally spell"... =)

Although you lose faction with the Freeport Militia for completing the quest all you have to do is kill the piranha for +faction with the Knights of Truth and no -faction with Freeport Militia.

This quest isn't really helpful if you are already too high to get exp. This quest lowers Freeport Militia and raises the the two temples, not very useful. There is also only one piranha which takes awhile to spawn. However, the piranha doesn't move around so is easy to find.

There are two piranha that pop by the left side of the bridge as you enter the Guild Hall. Another spawns alternately with a minnow on the right side of the bridge, toward the sewers. Three minnows also pop on the left of the bridge up against the side of the building.
The reward item is sometimes a rare potion.
This quest is one of the very few ways to improve faction with the Priests of Marr. Very important if you are a young high elf cleric with entry level faction and a desire to train in the North Freeport cleric guild (Temple of Marr).

Not only is this fun to do, but it gives you something to hunt in North Freeport at single-digit levels and the items are quite nice. I got a potion of disease warding first time I did it, which may not seem like much but was very exciting when I was 8th level playing my first character.
