VOA Pre-Launch: Checking the Plans

This is a pre-launch task leading up to the Veil of Alaris expansion and is expected to be available throughout the pre-launch events leading up to the Veil of Alaris expansion (through November 14). It begins with a gnome named Chief Foreman Salli in the Steamfont Mountains. She's found at location -1200, -1275 in the far southeastern part of the Steamfont Mountains. You say, 'Hail, Chief Foreman Salli' Chief Foreman Salli says 'Hello there. Nice to meet you. Unless we've already met. Then it's nice to see you again. Either way, it's nice. I've been so busy that I can't always remember who works for me anymore. It's my job to make sure all of the tasks get done and that everyone has what they need. Luckily I have a lot of [help], or I'd never be able to keep up.' You say, 'How can I help?' Chief Foreman Salli says 'I have a couple of foremen working on specific projects. That's wonderful. It means that I don't have to worry at all about that stuff. Not that there isn't enough to do. We can always use more capable hands. I don't suppose you could find some time to [lend a hand]?' You say, 'I'll lend a hand' Chief Foreman Salli says 'It is very kind of you to offer!' A quest window pops up offering three different tasks. You have been assigned the task 'Checking the Plans'. Chief Foreman Salli seemed very concerned that the plans for every portion of their project be checked and re-checked by as many experts as possible. She has given you the most recent plans for some part of the device they are building. It was impossible to tell exactly which part, but she wants you to asks experts to review it. Olim should review all of our plans, though he has been unwilling to actually offer any advice. Speak with Olim 0/1 (Steamfont Mountains) This is a telmiran named Olim, Underfoot Emissary by a tree near Ak'Anon. You say, 'Hail, Olim, Underfoot Emissary' Olim, Underfoot Emissary says 'I welcome you and thank you for your service to Norrath. Salli knows that I am not an engineer. I was created by the Lord of Below, and I share his love of creation and invention, but I am not a builder. I am simply an emissary. Brell trusts his creations to find their own way. You may tell her that I trust that her plans will prove to be excellent.' Speak with Rokaon Sternheart 0/1 (Butcherblock Mountains) He's found in a hut by the docks. You say, 'Hail, Rokaon Sternheart' Rokaon Sternheart says 'What do we have today? Let me guess, plans for some sort of strange contraption the just might include something metal.' He takes the plans from you and looks them over. 'This is a little too intricate for my tastes, but it should work fine. If you could ask Salli to write her legends larger, my eyes aren't as good as hers.' Speak with Tratlan Matrick 0/1 (Plane of Knowledge) This is a tailoring vendor near the Bazaar. You say, 'Hail, Tratlan Matrick' Tratlan Matrick says 'Welcome to New Tanaan. I would be happy to look over those plans.' Tratlan takes the plans and unrolls them. 'Very intricate, I must say. I'm impressed with the choices of materials, though I imagine that gathering them must have been difficult. Let Salli know that I like the choices she has made.'' Speak with Tialechaety Orrthemech 0/1 (Abysmal Sea) This is a tinkering vendor near the bank (use CTRL+F). You say, 'Hail, Tialechaety Orrthemech' Tialechaety Orrthemech says 'Welcome to my shop... oh, another messenger.' She takes the plans from you a bit roughly. 'I know that Brell himself has asked us to investigate... whatever it is, but what's wrong with a regular ship? It seems to me that developing new devices just to get where you're going, wherever that is, seems silly. There are better things to put our minds to. Regardless, this plan has a few errors, but the mechanics would never actually build it that way. I made notes, so take this back to Salli.' Return the plans to Salli and let her know what the experts said 0/1 (Steamfont Mountains) Note: There is no item involved here; strictly hails. You say, 'Hail, Chief Foreman Salli' Chief Foreman Salli smiled warmly at you when you told her that none of the experts mentioned any flaws with the plans. Chief Foreman Salli says 'Ah, good. First I'll note that it seems that each NPC can give a few, slightly different, responses when you hail them for these tasks. This is what I got when I did mine, though...going to include each task's steps so I can easily show which one gave which dialogue:

Trarlan Matrick says 'Hello. You have brought me yet another plan from mistress Salli. Let me see them.' He reaches over and gently takes the plans from you. 'Well, this is very pretty, very interesting. There isn't anything here that I know much about, but the drawing is certainly pleasing to look at.'
Tialechaety Orrthemech:
Tialechaety Orrthemech says 'Hello. Let me see the plans.' Tialechaety opens the plans and reviews them. 'Hrm... I see what they are doing here. Interesting idea. If it doesn't explode immediately, it should work brilliantly. Let me know how it goes, eh?'
Tialechaety Orrthemech reaches out and gently lifts the plans from your hand. 'Another set of plans?' Salli should have more confidence in her work and the work of her engineers. But no matter, I am glad to look these over.' Her eyes scan the pages quickly. 'These look good. Very solid ideas and well thought out. This should be good.'
