an undead knight says 'I was torn apart by my master and my bones were given as toys to my master's associates!! I am now only half Grandyf the Vile. My hands, feet and legs were sent here and assembled with spare bones of other unfortunates. Since this is the case, I can only [create darkforge armor] in the form of boots, greaves and gauntlets.'

You say, 'create darkforge armor!'

an undead knight says 'Darkforge gauntlets require both of my decayed gauntlets and one enchanted platinum bar. For the darkforge greaves, I will need both decayed legplates and two pieces of melatite from the Solusek Mining Company. For the boots, I need both my decayed boots and two parts of fairy dust.'

Quest is given by "an undead knight" (skeleton) on the third floor of Temple of Sol Ro, loc 400, 80, 31. He is on the right hand side of human caster named Solomen. He gives the quests for greaves and boots, while his counterpart on the left side (also "an undead knight") gives the quests for helm, BP, vambraces, and bracers. I was indifferent to them, and received neither positive or negative faction hits when completing the quest.

an undead knight says 'Away from this place of torment! Make haste and flee before you, too, share my [gruesome fate]!!'

You say, 'what gruesome fate?'

an undead knight says 'I was once a proud shadowknight, but failed I did in my master's quest. I was sent into a lizard fortress deep in the swamplands. I was to seek out an ancient item for my master. I failed and was captured. The lizards stripped me of my [darkforge armor] and planned to boil me alive. Before they could do so, I escaped. Upon my return to my master's lair I found myself in a [worse predicament].'

You say, 'what darkforge armor?'

an undead knight says 'I and I alone have the power to create darkforge armor!! It was crafted for me so naturally it is to be worn by shadowknights only. My armor was taken by the lizardman crusaders. Unfortunately for them, it lost all power and cannot be worn. I would be glad to see it put to good use. Do you [seek the darkforge armor]?'

<All decayed pieces for this suit of armor drop from both "a Tae Ew crusader" and "a Tae Ew spiritualist". From what I found while camping these items virtually any of the stationary Tae Ew mobs outside of CT can spawn a crusader and I've seen as many as 3 up at a time. The spiritualist only spawns next to the tree at the river's fork, and has 2 buddies to keep him company (3 if you count the one on the other side of the tree). His PH's are either "Radiant" (named enchanter mob) or "a silvered Tae Ew observer". Both crusader and spiritualist are SK mobs that HT (about 300-350), and both drop at least 1-and often 2-decayed pieces. The Tae Ew mobs seem to be on approx. 10 min timer. As far as I could tell there doesn't seem to be a separate loot table for the crusader and spiritualist...either mob has a chance to drop any of the pieces.

The melatite drops from the mechanical gnomes, (CWG Model **) in Sol A and seems to be uncommon random drop. Took me about an hour to get my first one...forgot I needed 2 and had to come back...only took about 10 min to get the other.>

maybe I was lucky but I just logged on my 52 SK for about 30 minutes, went to Sol-A and killed gnomes. Got 1st piece of melatite on 2nd kill, and 2nd piece of melatite on about the 7th kill. Can't remember which gnome it was.

Lets see...I was there with another SK for maybe...1 hr? give or take..anyways, 2 crusaders popped, and he just needed the visor so I got Left and right bracer and left guantlet and left arms. Wish crusader was an easier spawn, gets boring fast.

Since they moved the Crusaders from inside Cazic to the area outside in Ferrot I have not seen the Right vambrave nor the Right Greave drop. Just wondering if anyone else has or did they nerf this with the change?

Both of Knights respond to hail and give you a list of items that they can make for you, as well as what you have to have. Melatite is droped by Models MB and MC in Sol A. Decayed armor droped in Cazic Thule by Crusaders and Ritualists.

In the Temple of Solusek Ro there are 2 Undead Knights. One of them you hand in the items for Helm, BP, Vambraces, and Bracers. The other Undead Knight does not respond to hails.

Do you hand the items for the lower body pieces to this other knight even though he does not repond to hails? Where do you turn in the items for the DF Boots, Greaves, and Guantlets? Is the other Undead Knight bugged since the last patch?

Spent all day in Sol A yesterday managed to loot one piece of melatite off CWG modelCB or sumthin like that, then i talked to the 50+ mage an he said he had about 3 pieces of normal melatite on him but thought i was lookin for blue melatite (?) earlier which only drops off captain.
The mobs u have to kill for melatite are blue to 34 and in a group of about 2-3 u can easily take 2. The only problem is if u r a troll like me.. If u attack them where they spawn they can run up a really small passageway and escape so u have to make sure u pull them into the room where gobbos spawn. The next pulls after this one are hard as the models are in a room where u cant see any of the others which are near and they see thru invis so u cant check it out, FD pulling makes this a much easier task. Hope this helps to any Darkforge wantin ppl out there :)
I've got all the freaky bits like this for darkforge now which leaves the rest of decaying and then i'll be in full darkforge :)

is the decayed no drop? i looked at the actual item of the decayed armor but it dont say if it is no drop or not. if not this will make my life a heck of alot easier.

Just get left and right decaying greaves, ok now go to Sol a and get two peices of malatite from the gnomes (if you are lucky like me you can loot a charded guardian sheild worth 400pp) then go to sol temple and hail the knights converse with them and the one closet to the door will be the lower body one. put it all on him two bars of malatite and the two greaves left and right. he gives you the DF greaves and about a 1/2 bub of exp WOOT

Ok, to get the darkforge greaves, you have to get both decayed Leg plates and 2 bricks of Melatite, you Then Turn that stuff into one of the Undead knights in temple of solosek ro located in Lavastormm, once you find the undead knight, hail him and get the details on the quest and make sure you turn in the EXACT stuff, cause i turned in the stuff and he didnt give me the greaves :( well thats how you get them :)

Thanks for the info on how to get the melatite. but how do i combine it all in to armor ?
