I cannot find the gloves and this quest is not repeatable. Anyone know a trick to restart the quest line or do I have to petition a reset, if that is even possible?
I know it is 2017 and last comment was 2012, but hey, there has been a lot more activity lately with the latest anniversary and ZAM is doing new updates and I even got me to make a new account here cause I forgot my old one =-P.

After zoning in, turn southeast to find "an injured slave" at 282, -442.

You might want to go to any vendor and check the Recovery tab at the top. Depending on when (and if) you deleted it the glove may still be in there and retrievable by purchasing a Token of Reclamation.
Before you do that though, go to the Guild Lobby and check an npc named Tavid Dennant (yes hes kind of a Timelord). He is located a bit to the right of the Magus in a green robe. Try right clicking him and it should open up a vendor listing of some of the SoD quest items if you completed the quest and lost them. He charges 1 Chronobine for each one which I believe can be purchased in the bazaar, bought for Loyalty tokens from the Loyalty vendor, or if you just ask in a general channel I'm sure someone can hook you up.
As for restarting the quest entirely I don't think it is possible to go back and redo some of the older solo tasks once some of the higher ones in the line have been unlocked.

How rare is the key? I've been killing slavers, sentinels and other ogres and have yet to see a key.

Based on my unscientific research results, the key drops from sentinels better than slavers. Maybe it was just my luck. I killed 2 dozen slavers up and down the passage from zone in to main area where the boars roam and never saw a key. The six keys our group looted all came from sentinels from anywhere in the zone: near warrens zone line and around the market.
Though the sentinels can indeed drop the key for this quest, it's far easier to do what the quest itself says and get the key from a Slaver, such as the ones standing at the door of the zone-in room.
I was able to obtain this at 75

After completing this task I was able to get the task "Millik's Remains" from Dwerina Feystalker. Loot 1 Millik's hand, Loot 1 Millik's head, Loot 1 Millik's Leg.
