How do you use the key? do you give it to the clockwork?
I did this quest after turning in MANY rat pelts (probably about 8 or 10 sets). Figured I was too high a level (9th) to bother with the pelts, but happened across a couple more and did it one last time.
So Jeet gives me the Gnome Take quest. I'd heard of it, but purposely didn't look at any information about it in advance. Went to Ak'Anon and found the correct scrubber (by the library for me). When I returned the Take, I received a Gold Ear Stud (?) -- +3 intelligence! Yow, just what my dim-bulb Dwarf needed. I'm going to try to see if I can get the quest again -- a matching set would be neat.
5/1/01 -- Did this quest again; walked into Ak'Anon about 5 steps, said "628," and boom, just like that, got the Gnome Take. But maybe it was too easy . . . all I got was a useless copper amulet, worth about 7 silver, no apparent purpose. Bummer.
7/1/-1 -- Did the quest twice today. It's now, "I will collect the gnome profit" instead of gnome take. First time I got ANOTHER copper amulet; second time I got a piece of turquoise. Kind of silly.

I've said "628" to every scrubber in Ak'Anon for over a week now. So either the quest is broken or you actually have to get your faction up with the Clockworks.
Anyone else notice the Kaladim rogue quests are awfully laborious for not giving you anything of signifigance (except for the miners hat and the two picks)

I got the quest after turning in four giant rat pelts. I take the time to go to Ak'anon, and when I return the take all I got was a firebeetle eye and and couple of silver.

Well, I'm a Dwarf Rogue (see above), and it can be a lousy quest. The second time I did it (after finally getting him to let me do the Cleaner quest), I ran to Ak'Anon, said 628 to the first scrubber I saw, and voila! Gnome Take. Back to Kaladim - DON'T get lost in LFaydark - and what do I get? A @%$&# copper amulet. Big @%$&# hairy deal. Is is because it was too easy?
The other question is -- if you don't have the key, but kill the proper scrubber instead, do you get teh Gnome Take? It conned even to me last night, and I didn't think I could kill it quick enough before the clockwork guards would get on me . . .

I always wondered about that one rogue cleaner on my tracking list that was green when all the others were red. If there's a tracker in town ask them to lead you to the low con cleaner.

You are given the chance to complete this quest after you receive your Miner's Cap 628 from killing Cleaner VII. I don't know if this is the only way to get the quest but at least it is the way that worked for me.

You can also get this quest by turning in the 4 rat pelts.... which is good because I have yet to see the cleaner spawn.
