Event Coordinator Baublie Diggs may be found in the newbie area at +600, +135.

You say, 'Hail, Event Coordinator Baublie Diggs'

Event Coordinator Baublie Diggs says 'Are you interested in taking a [test] of your Tradeskill Ability?'

You say, 'What test?'

Event Coordinator Baublie Diggs says 'I can give you a test of your tradeskill abilities in any of eleven different tradeskills. I can test you on [alchemy], [baking], [brewing], [fletching], [jewelry] making, [poison] making, [pottery], [smithing], spell [research], [tailoring], or [tinkering].'

You say, 'Jewelry.'

She will assign you a task dependent on your skill. The levels appear to be Beginner (50-99), Apprentice (100-149), Freshman (150-199), Journeyman (200-249), Expert (250-299), Master (300).

You have been assigned the task 'Expert Jeweler Test'.

Event Coordinator Baublie Diggs says 'Ok take this list, make the recipes on it, and give them to the Judge for Approval. Be sure to read all of the rules.'

Create 2 Blackened Pearl Silver Ring using tradeskills
Create 4 Jaded Electrum Bracelet using tradeskills
Create 4 Golden Hematite Choker using tradeskills

Deliver 4 Jaded Electrum Bracelet to Judge Marion Teld`mare
Deliver 4 Golden Hematite Choker to Judge Marion Teld`mare
Deliver 1 Marquise Mount Palladium Ring to Judge Marion Teld`mare
Deliver 1 Gold Polished Quartz Ring to Judge Marion Teld`mare
Deliver 1 Grandmaster Jeweler's Eyeglass to Judge Marion Teld`mare
Deliver 2 Wolf's Eye Platinum Necklace to Judge Marion Teld`mare
Deliver 1 Jaded Velium Ring to Judge Marion Teld`mare
Deliver 2 Platinum Pearl Ring to Judge Marion Teld`mare
Deliver 2 Platinum Topaz Necklace to Judge Marion Teld`mare

Rules:
Make all of the items on this list.
You may make them in any order you wish.
You may have friends help you with any part but the last step which creates the actual part on the list. This you must do yourself.
You may make the items in any order and turn them in to the Judge in any order that you wish.
The Judge will keep all items that she is given to defray the costs of the contest.
The Judge's decision is final.
If you already have an old Trophy that you have made, show it to the Coordinator and she will mark it as already completed. You will still have to submit the old trophy to the judge.

All items besides those with "Palladium" in the name must be made with non-enchanted materials. Upon handing the last one into Judge Marion Teld'Mare you get:

Congratulations. You have passed the test. Please give this scorecard to the coordinator. Be sure to have two places available in your inventory because she will give you either one or two items as your prize.

You have been given: Expert Jeweler Scorecard

Give the scorecard to Baublie.

Event Coordinator Baublie Diggs says 'Congratulations! That was great work. This trophy is brand new and has yet to evolve. First take your trophy in either your left or right hand then take the certificate that I am also giving you and put it in the appropriate tradeskill container and your trophy will evolve to the proper level for the test you have taken.'

You receive the Beginner Jeweler Trophy and an Expert Jeweler Certificate. Equip the trophy in your PRIMARY slot, then combine the certificate by itself in a jeweler's kit and your trophy will evolve to a Expert Jeweler Trophy.

The trophies are evolving items that also evolve as you craft recipes within a certain non-trivial range (reportedly 100) above your current skill level. Once you pass into the next skill level bracket, the trophy should evolve soon afterward. The trophies can also summon weight-reducing bags like the older trophies. When you take these bags to Jolum in the Bazaar, you get an Essence, and can combine the Essence in a jeweler's kit to get a permanent weight-reducing bag specific to jewelry making.

Evolving the Trophy

It seems that only combines with 50+ over your current tradeskill are counted for the evolving. That is really a long journey...

OK, now the solution:

Equipping the Trophy and putting the certificate in the Jewelers Kit and hitting combine results in a Trophy with

Str/Int/Wis +7, Cha+33 and Jewelry Making at 8%

Heard that it only evolves when doing tradeskill combines.
Will check how that works.

It gets even better.

You have to give the old Jewelers Eyeglass to the coordinator. Then he changes it to the not upgraded version and you can give it to the judge for quest. You get a beginners Trophy with lousy 1% and an expert certificate.

Any hints for a faster evolving?

Gosh, what a waste,
made Jewelers Eyeglass ages ago and now I have to destroy it to make a new one, because it is Lore and Judge does not take this item. Have removed the augment, pure Eyeglass now, but Judge cannot use it... bah

The best is I am guessing now, when I destroy my precious 5% I then get a Beginners 1% and have to wait endlessly for evolving...

This is really annoying.

This quest no longer requires a Gold Shimmering Earing and requires 1 Marquise Mount Palladium Ring instead.

Destroying Eyeglass?
# Dec 10 2006 at 6:42 AM Rating: Decent
Can I have a minor rant about the fact that I already successfully made a jeweler's eyeglass (after 3 failures) and now I am apparently going to have to destroy it and make another? Argh!

You do not need to destroy, you can hand it in and get credit for making it.

I tried to hand in my upgraded Grandmaster Jeweler's Eyeglass and she simply handed it back to me. Perhaps it has to be the non-upgraded version? If so, I wonder if I'll have to destroy the old one.
Did it change?

I'm showing the 4th item on the list to make is:

Create 1 Marquise Mount Palladium Ring
Broke?
# May 02 2006 at 3:48 PM Rating: Decent
Is this broke...placing it in my ammo slot does not raise any stats.
RE: Broke?
# May 04 2006 at 4:56 PM Rating: Decent
No, it's not broken. You only get a stat boost when placing the trophies in Primary, Secondary, or Range. You still get the tradeskill bonus when it's in Ammo, just no stat bonus. When it is equipped, you can verify the bonus in the tradeskill window for your combine bag. It will show Jewelcraft (295) or whatever your level is. Then unequip the trophy and you will see the number decrease.

As for evolving the item, it only evolves with Tradeskilling. XP killing of any sort will not affect this item.

Have fun folks.

Expert Jewler Test

I just got this quest today, and you need to make your Grandmaster Jeweler's Eyeglass as well. You also must deliver the same number of items that you make to Judge Marion.
