Harvest of Venom  

The best spot to get Giant Spider Egg Sac for the Harvest of Venom quest in Commonlands, is around /waypoint 357, -1444, 79 , which is south of Orc 1. About anything that spawns around that hill and north of it, can be a placeholder: a leaf scarab, a giant leaf scarab, a giant fire beertle, orc pawn, a darkweed snake, a woodland lioness, a woodland lion, a spiderling, a shadow wolf, a black wolf, a black bear, a young kodiak, etc.

Giant spiders that do spawn at the southern desert side, don't seem to drop the item !

I found out that all these NPCs seem to do in PoK is send you on tasks to ultimately receive the same old rewards you would have received from the city guildmaster armor quests.

I thought since SoE added all these new tutorials, Defiant stuff, golden path, etc that these NPCs in PoK would give updated quests, not direct you back to the old quests.

The giant rattle snakes spawn in the sandy area of the common lands towards the south near the small undead camp and hills. Good luck killing them and getting the egg at frist try. Some days the spawn of giant rattle snakes was plentiful other times only one would spawn every morning and would never carry a snake egg. Be careful and have food on you. You may accidently eat the one snake egg you found after hours of slowly finding and killing these things.
The giant spiders spawn near the entrance to Nektulos forest usually toward the morning. Kill the giant leaf scarabs and beetles that seem to spawn heavily and eventually you get a giant spider. Good luck finding the venom sac. Hit or miss with that loot. Sometimes every spider has one other times it never does. The wisps are the easiest. They're the little blue twinkiling lights that are all over the grassy area that have no label. You need to click on them to see the name. They can only be killed with magic. One day over by where the hill giants spawn towward the south west desert part were a constent spawn of 20 giant spiders. Wish it did that the day, or should i say days, i spent on this quest waiting for them to spawn.

OK I read thru the post's for "Harvest of Venom" and didnt like what I saw.

So I went to Commons and began killing cat mobs, Earlier I had done a quest in North Ro, and the Placeholders (PH) were Pumas. So Knowing SOE,... I started killing "a young plains cat" with in four kills guess what, POPS "a giant spider".

I started the hunt near the huts outside of Nektulos Forest, and moved west, killing young plains cat, giant fire bettles, giant leaf scarab. I noticed that giant spders were spawning at /loc 696,-1694, 38 // also NOTE: giant spiders did NOT spawn at night. 6PM until 6AM game time.

I killed nine giant spiders total to get the three egg sacks. //

For the giant Rattle snakes, I went over to the southern part of the zone, which is the desert. killings scarab spiderlings, large rattlesnakes, and the ever present undead, no spawns. moving futher down i hunted the area of /loc -921, -1200, 20 Theres is an Undead Camp there. I looked around and saw "PUMA's"
as soon as I started in, the giant RattleSnakes started spawning. Four kills later I had my snake egg.

The willowisps were abundant, near Nektulos forest zone line, The second kill got me the smoke.

A little under an hour got me the Gauntlets of Darkness for Orge SK

I agree about the spiders no longer dropping the needed items. I have tried this one for 3 or 4 game days and could manage to get about 12 spiders to spawn and killed before night fall would come again (spiders will not spawn at night and the place holder is the black bears.) So I killed between 35 to 50 spiders in 4 game days or 2 real life days and not a single drop. We need three of those egg sacks. How sad!

I can't get the quest item from the spiders to drop, must have killed aroud 30 and not one yet.

This quest is bugged for on my realm at least (The Sleeper). PoP just came out a week ago with these armor quests and I have found 3 of them bugged so far. wtf Sony, get ur **** together, i know this is a dying game but c'mon. In the Gfay quest the NPC that you are supposed to talk to is gone completely, this venom quest wont update, and for Damp Paws Igok wont talk to you....Wow, how do they ***** up the easies stuff?

I've collected all the required items from East Commons. My quest journal won't advance and Barenzin won't accept any of them.

Kill black bears, giant spiders will pop like nobody's business
