Kjell wont give me the "Beyond the gates" quest for my elaborate book of barbarian culture. He just keeps telling me to collect the carapace, lion tail, gold bandit tooth, and zombie skin. Even though that part is already done. I'm lvl 75 I don't understand what the problem is =/.

The quests are renamed and those books dont' exist anymore. You will have to redo the first task :)

cant seem to get the grandmasters quest from kjell. anybody know if ya have to meet the minimum armor requiremens to get quest? (IE-65) all he saays to me is "think you can handle that? HA dont waste my time"

I have been trying to find any Stillmoon mission ( instanced ) to get the goby patches and havent found one yet does anyone know what mission my group needs to get ? plz help a name of the mission or a link or say where i should look or abouts PLZ...

Is it possible for a level 57 warrior to solo the Master's Book? I know the sound of a warrior soloing in Maiden's Eye may sound farfetched, but I'm just wondering. Lol

As of yesterday's patch I went to Mines of Nurga and it won't update the Vengeance of the Skenes quest. Anyone else having problems with this?

Not sure when but apparently this was fixed. Is working as of 1/24/07.
Where do the goblin miners spawn in Nurga. I've been several times and can't seem to find the miners...
So where is the Underground zone to get the geode for the Seals of Darkhollow inorder to make a slot 12 aug???

While there is no such mobs, the quest text does read Coterie Vampyres so it lies with SOE and not with Allakhazam. However Master section needs a minor adjustment:
Now should be loot 20. I'm also doing the GM quest and the kill/loot count is unchanged.

it say Coterie Vampyres
the Coterie Vampyres are called Coterie Centurions, but their race is VAMPYRE, hence the reason you should kill vampyres, the named ones count as well.
So no lies there, just users that ain't got no clue what mob they are up against I guess

Is progression from Journeyman up to Grandmaster required?
I have a 70 Shammy and want to do some of the Grandmaster's gear for him.
Am I correct in the fact that all I need to do is get the Ancestral Barbarian Armor and then start on the Grandmaster's quest?

Tha Ancestral Barbarian Armor book will make any level of the armor, Journeyman's to Grandmaster's. The additional books are for the Augs for slot 11 only ... you can do them out of order or only the GM level one (Hail Kjell and /say valley? for GM task after you have the Ancestral book)
I am having issues with the Ancestral book for the Barbarians. I have been able to get the Zombie skin, Golden Bandit tooth and the Lion tail, but after killig firebeetles for 2 straight hours, I have still not yet seen a firebeetle carapace. Allakhazam says its a common drop..Yeah right!! Is or did anyone else have this problem?

They drop off of a fire beetle and not a giant fire beetle,,, killed one and got carapace on first one...

This Book will makes 20 of each pattern (40 for wrists). The cultural book ingredient will be consumed the 10th time it is used. {You can repeat the quest for another}.

I'm having trouble locating these skins for the Expert book. The goblins in FM outside the entrance drop them but none of the goblins in Nurga seem to have any skin. Does this drop from a specific MOB? Thanks for your help.
They are there... when doing the first part of the quest I only looted 2 after killing about 80 Gobbies. After turning in the Death Salt, it took me about 2 hours of killing multiple goblins, but finally dropped.

I am currently doing the Masters Book part and they have changed the Amount of Essence of Darkness to loot from 40 to 20 of them.
Upon completing the turn-in of Vampyre Ashes,

Animated Statue plans is the best mission to get the rough goblin skins and the stone necklace piece. I was wondering if anyone knows how to get the GM aug task, i can't seem to get the right dialogues to start the quest.

Was in the Stillmoon instanced zone tonight. I looted about 5 pelts during a shared mission over about 2 hours.

The pelts for the grandmaster quest ONLY drop from the Stillmoon instanced missions. They are kinda rare, I'm at 26 of the 80 needed.

I've been from one end to the other in Stillmoon, both in normal zone, and instanced. I have seen no pelts drop. I also have done Tirrium Delve and Thundercrest*instanced and normal*, with zero success. Yes Tirrium Delve(gimblox) drops pelts like water, but they do not count on your task collection. Either there is a zone not discovered, i am missing a zone, or the task is bugged. I have looked about everywhere i know.

from Human Cultural Armor (DoN), They also do rough patch of goblin skin quest too. They said we should do "Animated Statue Plans" mission (from DoN camp). So goblins might drop goblin skin. Any you can confirm it?

Working on the grandmasters book now.
First step, kill 120 mobs, is goblins/drakes in stillmoon.
Second step is collecting 80 "rough patch of goblin skins" I have been trying to find out where these drop. I spend a breif amount of time in Tarrium Delve and didnt get a drop, and the common drop pelts in the missons (gimblax) do not count on your task.

"Rough patch of goblin skin" seems to drop in Stillmoon Temple. not as common as impure blood, sandy blood, or mottled goblin meat, but I'm sure I've deleted my share of these.
Where do I find Northman smithy hammers? I have been to every vendor in Halas and can't find it. Also I can't find the huge blocks of clay to make the molds.

u get it from the merchant right by the northman forge in halas.

The huge blocks of clay, northman smithy hammer, and HQ ore are found on the 'general supplies' vendor that's outside near the forges. (forget the name) The stuff is there, just not visable in her inventory until you scroll down. She also has compacted backpacks.
Thank you, the info was enough for me to find the merchant. The merchants name is Greta Terrilon loc +281, - 320 near the northman forge.

Icebones are in the Lich Caves. There's 2 spawn points of 5 total skeletons.
