You say, 'Hail, Druushk'

Druushk says 'Who steps in my lair?! Ah, 'tis but a soft-flesh nuisance. I must say I am amazed at the idiocy you adventurers must boast to explore these areas, especially when we're trying to keep you out. Since you are here, I will tell you of a story and a [dilemma] I am having if you wish. You might become more enlightened.'

You say, 'What dilemma?'

Druushk says 'In previous years, we, the Ring of Scale, have had one of our own sitting on the Overking Bathezid Di'Zok's council, well disguised. Our friend has also been spying on the council itself. He was our voice when we needed the Sarnaks to listen to reason. Unfortunately, we have lost contact with him. I had a personal affinity to our friend, because he was one of my personal assistants. I could sense his presence elsewhere on this continent and now it has dissipated. I fear he may have been killed, though I am not sure by whom. I would like you to investigate this further and bring back the remains of my assistant to me, so I can learn of his fate.'

The quest pieces are various pieces of Druushk's assistant, and may be found off glowing mobs in the Halls of Betrayal (a.k.a. Chardok B): they glow when they have the piece. They have been reported as dropping as follows:
  • Druushk's Assistant's Jaw
    • An Iksar Skeleton
  • Druushk's Assistant's Arm
    • A Ferocious Chokidai
  • Druushk's Assistant's Skull
    • A Shai`Din Overseer
    • A Shai`Din Royal Guard
    • A Shai`Din Scythemaster
Faction hits are +Brood of Di`zok, -Followers of Korucust, -Betrayers of Di`zok for hunting in Chardok B. Bring the remains back to Druushk for your reward.

Druushk says 'My worst fears are true. My assistant has been slain. I will have my servants investigate this heinous crime. Here is your reward for this deed mortal. If you do not like it, I can provide you with a different reward.'

Casters receive the Amice of the Skywings, while melee classes receive the Mask of the Sky Dragon.

multi quest able ?
# Jan 24 2005 at 2:51 AM Rating: Decent
I was curious if this particular quest could be multi'quested as there are no containers requiring a combine. I got very fustrated tring to get a final skull and decided to give it a go. I box a Necro / Cleric and had the arm and jaw on necro, skull on cleric. I hailed with both toons and did the text to ensure both had high enough ally faction RoS to get the quest. I then turned in skull from cleric and arm / jaw from necro. Needless to say, Multi-quest on this particular quest WORKS, grats my necro Reptikon with Amice of skywings.
RNG is just that

Same area as the others. On the first four hour session I got 3 skulls. On the next four hour session 2 skulls and one arm. In the middle of the third four hour session and nothing yet. I only wish jaws were the most common drop. Its all random. By the way, most of the skulls I got came from the two sarnaks just inside the door behind golems. While its probably more ranger (RNG'r) shenanigans, I would include them in the pull plan if trying specifically for skulls.

I set up camp exactly where most of the posters here did: the room past the golems just outside the ressurectionists. This room has a hand full of spawn points for skeletons and chokidai, and 4 spawn points for sarnak.

A SK friend and I kept the entire thing clear. In the space of about 3 or 4 hours we got 3 jaws and one arm. The jaws only dropped from iksar skeletons and the arms only dropped from ferocious chokidais. After my friend left I (a druid) returned and just camped the 4 sarnak spawns. They don't hit super hard, so I just tanked them and let the damage shield do it's job. I spent about 3 more hours (in addition to what I spent previously) just killing these 4. The skull finally dropped from a shai`din scythemaster, so I can confim that they do drop it.

All this happened recently, I got the skull early morning 11/7/04.

So in closing, to answer some of the questions, yes the room outside the castle near the rezzers does still drop pieces, yes scythemasters do drop skulls, and yes, the skull seems to be much rarer than the other 2.

I have been trying the NW room, past the golems just north of ressurectionist room, but I am having no luck, nearly 23 hours so far in this spot 5 to 6 hours a day with zero drops. I went into castle (door behind golems) and west into the caves sw of ressurectionist area and did get a jaw to drop... do these no longer drop outside the castle area at all? November 8th, I have just found the arm from a cokodai at the stairs with the golems, now I just need the skull and am camping the 4 spawn due north of ressurectionists

Doing the northwest camp today for 4hours had 4 skulls drop, 1 jaw, 1 arm. Had the skulls drop from the room just past the 2 massive constructs at the top of stairs (3 in first room past them and 1 from 2nd room past them). Pulled skelle and chokidais from iz and up into the north west room while at camp cant remeber if arm came from iz side or what but its easy camp for group of friends willing to help or even work on quest.

same here, took about 8 hours (ish) to get all 3 components

i got all 3 near the "ressurectionists" area (NW most rooms in zone)

theres 5 statics in the "main room" (can pop skeleton or Chokidai)

then on the platform at back theres 4 Sarnaks (can drop the skull)

the skull took longest, i just camped the 4 sarnaks and was patient, you can root-rot the sarnaks singley
Beastlord Camping This
# Sep 14 2004 at 11:25 AM Rating: Decent
This camp is really not that bad if you work it correctly. The camp that you want to work is in to the right of zone and right again.

You will see two golems in front of a door.

In this room and the one further in, all the mobs that can spawn there which aren't on parts of the buildings you see (not sarnaks or golems), can spawn as "an iksar skeleton" or "a ferocious chokidai" and the live graphic sarnaks can all drop the piece that they drop.

As for camping this as a beastlord, one thing you can do if necessary is use pet pulling strats with your normal warder suspended and a low level pet to split the mobs. The other trick to this camp is proximity pulling in the larger area with several spawn spots for the chokidais and skeletons. While all the mobs in that area are fairly close to one another their aggro range is tiny, so you can proximity pull to a ways away where you've already cleared other mobs in order to fight them single.

All told I think it took me about eight hours of work here to get all three pieces, decent aa, lots of trash loot for tribute or to sell as you please. The added bonus for folks who don't happen to be ally to sarnaks, are the positive sarnak faction hits. Sorry if this is a bit rambling.
answer plz

can a 65 beastlord with 170 aa's hold this camp easy? or would i need assistance. If i wanted to get to chardok B but i do not have the faction can i either train there or be dragged there so i can avoid the zone and the faction fix. If i have to fix the faction what is the best faction camp.

YOu have to kill near the castle the caves before the castle you will get NOTHING. If you go through the castle to the other side you will find Iksar skeletons Ferocious CHokadia and Overseers. Its a long boring camp for how many kills you have to do to get a drop.
Took 1 hour killing ferocious to get a drop.
You have to kil the right mobs if you dont you wont get a drop ever! The drops where changed as of last patch it seems.

I've spent many hours on this now, mostly in the area behind the castle stairs (in front of the room with the resurrectionists). But I've also cleared the caves over the bridge a few times, the entrance of course, and a pulled a bit from inside the castle.

I've had SIX arms drop (4 rotted), but not a sign of the other 2. Killed tons of skellies, oversers, scythmasters, etc. etc. etc. A few nameds.

6 of one drop and none of the others just doesn't make sense... that's some really funky RNG results.

been killing the platform , and the room, and the room with 2 golems and stairs, and the room past 2 golems, so fat, 24 hours, 2 jaws, 1 skull, talking bout rare, made btw 5 aa for everyone in group, and we all 70, lol no arm, and we need 3... guess will be a camp for lots months, sure the worst items i had to get dropped from all the 6 VP quests ...

I have spent about 8 hours total here today, ranging from camp to camp but mostly in the back area beyond the bridge... Not one single drop of anything in about 300 mobs... not one.. although few sarnak model mobs were killed and not all 300 were the droppers.
What drops what

Skull isnt to bad just kill Alot of overseers 1 drop per hour if you kill em constantly. The worst drop has been the Jaw being theres not many Iksar skeletons near the castle. And arms rare but drops quite often off the Ferocious only!
So really drops go like this after spending 2 days there.
Jaw = Iksar Skeleton near castle..
Head = Overseers nothing else I have seen drops this.
Arm = Ferocious Chokadai Update the quest after 18 hours of this hehe.

I've done this quest on 4 so far, and the best place for the skels/dog for fast drop is go to the cave section west of zone, thru the castle, I've gotten a few of them back to back there.. They don't glow anymore.
skull?
# Aug 22 2004 at 5:04 AM Rating: Decent
how rare is the skull? I've only seen arms and jaws....friends also...skulls are almost nonexistant. Are the droprates all about the same? Can anyone say how often they drop?

Much thanks

As of 8/11/2004 patch
# Aug 12 2004 at 12:45 PM Rating: Decent
As of the 8/11/2004 patch the light source element of these drops is either broken or has been removed.

After clearing the west room near castle entrance we pulled a few domesticated chokadai's. One of these was obviously glowing, so we assumed the drops had been expanded to additional mobs. Unfortunately, the chokadai dropped only a jagged chokadai spine(?). This isn't a drop that has been a light source in the past. Several minutes later, a rabid chokadai spawned that was also glowing. His loot was the FT2 necklace, and nothing more. Again, not a drop that has been a light source in the past. Next, we were very puzzled when a non-glowing mob dropped Druushk's Assistant's Arm.

The oddities didn't end there. The final head-scratcher was when a second FT2 necklace dropped from a rabid that was NOT glowing. This is the same drop that was a light source on the previous rabid. It isn't a case of simply not seeing the light source. The exact same account puzzled 2 others that were with me in that they both saw/didn't see the light sources on the mobs I mentioned.

It appears that the latest patch has hosed up some light sources, and I'd be interested to hear if anyone else is experiencing the same thing at other VP quest drop camps.

Jagged Chokidai Spine has been a light source and is deceiving for the quest droppers.

I did mine last week and the skels and chokidai both glowed for the drops, the Sarnaks was harder to tell for the 2 I seen drop. They did update some of the engine and dx9 for Fonts and such maybe something there is changing lighting for you?

My Drops
# Aug 04 2004 at 7:10 AM Rating: Decent
I got my items from the following

Iksar Skeleton
Ferocious Chokidai
Shai'Din Overseer

Oddly enought, all of the items dropped w/in a few feet of the area near the 'resurrectionists', right out side the castle. The Iksar and Chokidia spawned at the exact same spawn point (on the wall of the cave between the stairs to the castle and the stairs to the resurrectionist platform) while the Overseer spawned on the patio outside the resurrectionist room.

My staregy was to clear from zone in. First I cleared the left dead end cave, then I cleard to resurrectionist. By the time i did that, zone in respawn was restarting. One time I thought i might be in the wrong area, so i cleared from zone in over the golem bridge and down to the end of the skele caves. RNG hated me down there. Reverted to the original plan.

I think I did that cycle about 6-8 times over three days to get all three drops. The Overseer and Ckokidia drops happened on the first day. The Iksar skeleton made me wait ....

Overseers drop skulls
# Aug 02 2004 at 8:03 PM Rating: Decent
I just got a skull off a Shai`Din Overseer. He was glowing but I didn't get excited as he wasn't listed as a remains dropper.

Final Text:

Druushk says 'My worst fears are true. My assistant has been slain. I will have my servants investigate this heinous crime. Here is your reward for this deed mortal. If you do not like it, I can provide you with a different reward.'

Faction for hunting in Chardok B:
Your faction standing with Followers of Korucust got worse.
Your faction standing with Brood of Di`Zok could not possibly get any better.
Your faction standing with Betrayers of Di`Zok got worse.

NO Final faction

Drop came from:
Skull: a Shai`Din royal guard
Arm: a ferocious chokidai
Jaw: an iksar skeleton

Strangely for me all 3 items seemed to drop right by the entrance to the castle and the room right next to it. It took me 7 hours to get all the items straight farm. We got 2 Skulls, 1 Arm, 1 Jaw.

Halcromo, do you mean the area after the little kennel where domesitcated dogs spawn ? the area beside the doors with the 2 constructs ?
I am camping in an area right next to the 2 constructs (door) where 4 Skells or ferocious can spawn and on a platform 4 living sarnaks are... There's also a little room with 4 resurecitonnits.
I have 2 drops, missing the skelly jaw... will it drop here?

I am not entirely sure, because I can't remember for sure where I read this, but isn't Korucust the RoS spy?
RE: Korucust?
# Aug 10 2004 at 6:25 PM Rating: Excellent
The name of the RoS spy in Chardok (aka Druushk's assistant) was Vrasyk. There are several notes from Vrasyk that drop in Chardok, particularly in the room where Korocust used to spawn, a couple to Druushk and one to Phara Dar. Korocust was a spy for Venril Sathir. His courier drops a note to Venril Sathir, as well as a gate potion to the Outpost in the Overthere.

Both spies were exposed, perhaps exposing each other, resulting in the death of Vrasyk and the exile of Korocust to ChardokB.
