Are you, by chance, interested in helping me with some of the more [menial tasks] I have to get done around here?' You say, 'What menial tasks?' Malkidiv U`Ycionuz says 'Well, I am responsible for keeping the ship stocked with plates, pots and other simple supplies, but with all the research I'm working on and my experiments with the amazing local [clay], I just font have time to keep up. Wayfarers are notoriously hard on dinnerware. Can you [help] me out? And if you have any spare clumps of refined ancient clay, please speak with Hiloan, she needs help making some of the more complicated items used on the ship.' You say, 'I will help.' Malkidiv U`Ycionuz says 'Great! We've discovered that this new clay makes wonderfully durable plates. Of course, there's no point in making durable plates, that's just a challenge to these people to try and break them. With this clay we can make thinner plates that are just as strong and take up less room. Here, take these bits of broken plates and this bonding agent and re-fire the plates. Bring them back to me as soon as you can. I'm grateful for the help. If you can keep helping me out, I might be willing to share with you our secret method of refining the stone worker clay.' You receive 20 x Broken Wayfarer Plate and 20 x Bonding Agent. Combine 1 of each item in a kiln. You have learned the recipe Wayfarer Plate! Wayfarer Plate trivials at 31. A kiln is located on the ship at -330 +233. After making them all, hand them to him unstacked, up to four at a time. Keep going back and saying "I will help." and he will give you more until he is satisfied (need to hand in approximately 100). Malkidiv U`Ycionuz says 'Excellent, you're obviously too talented to be wasted fixing plates. We could use a lot of pots. Our cooks are just as clumsy as out patrons. Take these pot molds and blocks of clay and fire them in a kiln. I can use a lot of these things, we use them for storage, cooking, breaking over heads All the usual stuff. We don't need quality here, just quantity. Bring them back to me quickly or we'll run out soon.' You receive 20 x Small Block of Scrap Clay and 20 x Wayfarer Pot Mold. Combine 1 of each item in the kiln. You have learned the recipe Wayfarer Pot! Wayfarer Pot trivials at 38. After making them all, hand them to him unstacked, up to four at a time. Keep going back and saying "I will help." and he will give you more until he is satisfied (need to hand in approximately 100). Malkidiv U`Ycionuz says 'Wonderful! You are certainly good at working with a kiln, and you've been a great help to me. I have a somewhat more complicated task to be done, if you have the time. We go through mugs here faster than an ogre goes through chocolate. Take this clay and these flasks of water and turn them on a pottery wheel until you have something that resembles a mug. Handles would be helpful, but not necessary. Then take the unfired mug and these Wayfarers seals and carefully fire them in the kiln. Don't worry, those seals are stamped onto tough sea serpent skin, they won't burn. Bring me the mugs when you're done.' You receive 20 x Small Block of Scrap Clay, 20 x Flask of Abysmal Sea Water, 20 x Wayfarer Mug Seal. Combine 1 Block of Scrap Clay and 1 Flask of Abysmal Sea Water in a pottery wheel. You have learned the recipe Unfired Wayfarer Mug! Combine 1 Unfired Wayfarer Mug and 1 Wayfarer Mug Seal in a kiln. You have learned the recipe Wayfarer Mug! Unfired Wayfarer Mug trivials at 46. Firing the Wayfarer Mug is trivial at 15. The pottery wheel is in the same room as Malkidiv at -258 +195. After making them all, hand them to him unstacked, up to four at a time. Destroy any remaining Wayfarer Mug Seals as you will not get another set of components with them. Keep going back and saying "I will help." and he will give you more until he is satisfied (need to hand in approximately 100). Malkidiv U`Ycionuz says 'Fantastic! You have been of great service to the Wayfarers Brotherhood. If you can help me with my next task, I'd be willing to give out one of the Wayfarers trade secrets. This task will require more effort and skill than those I've been asking you to do. Some of our scouts use ceramic shafts for our arrows. These require some skill to make properly and have to be made well. I just can't trust anyone to make them. Take this clay, these flasks of water and this special dye and use the pottery wheel to form them into unfired shafts. Then, take these molds and fire the shafts. The dye is important, as each of the scouts likes to have their own colors on the shafts. Something about competing over who kills the most enemies or something like that.' You receive 20 x Small Block of Scrap Clay, 20 x Flask of Abysmal Sea Water, 20 x Wayfarer Dye and 20 x Wayfarer Arrow Shaft Mold. I handed in all these in stacks of 20 when I turned them in. You do not have to hand them in one by one.

If you don't want to go back to him after you finish each set, you can drop the stuff on the floor and say "I will help". He will then give you more supplies. You can do this as many times as you want until you have as much as you think you would need to make 95 or more of the item he wants. Makes this a lot faster!

I tried this trick, but they have made the items no drop.

These quests seem very long for the 54 skillpoint reward. Is the ability to refine the GoD components worth all this trouble?

I think there are 3 reasons to chose these quests as an initial skillup route:
1) If you want to be able to refine the raw materials later.
2) For new players interested in tradeskills with no cash.
3) For simplicity of obtaining the materials. Nothing to look up or find, the quest giver hands you everything!
As you very well may want or need to refine tradeskill materials later on, unless you have money to burn you might as well take this free route to 54.
If you really dont want to be bothered doing the extra combines to get the next recipie from the quest giver however, you can still do the first recipie to 31 and move on from there.

I thought so. On my server when I was doing the aprentice pottery trophy I needed to make the ceramic bola weight. The clumps of refined Taelosian clay ran 3k in the bazaar and I didn't want to pay that much.

Are Iksars KOS here?
The closest Kiln to the pottery I have found is just outside the room thru the door just to the left of the room entrance out on the deck. Loc: -330.65, 237.89, 97.95.

Was closest one I found as well. I put the location of Kiln where the trivial information for the first step is... I shoulda put in the supplies area. Oh well hindsight is 20/20. I will try to submit the rest of the pictures for this quest in the next couple days.
