Talk to L`diava Rexxen

L`diava Rexxen may be found near Fezbin Fizzles at -35, +60, with whom you must have already completed the preflagging to accomplish this step of the quest.

You say, 'Hail, L`diava Rexxen'

L`diava Rexxen says 'Yes, yes. What is it I can do for you? I am a very busy woman and do not have a moment to waste on just anyone. Are you one of the adventurers sent here by Fezbin?'

You say, 'Yes.'

L`diava Rexxen says 'Very good. You are just in time. I am in need of immediate assistance in the temple areas known as [Yxtta] and the [frightful temple], Kod'Taz. While our scouts have been missing for quite some time, I recently received some information that leads me to believe they may still be alive. Which one we help first is up to you. Which area do you wish to investigate?'

You say, 'What is Yxtta?'

L`diava Rexxen says 'Yxtta is one of three smaller temple areas where a group of natives known as the trusik used to worship a god called Trushar. We do not know who this god is, but we believe he is a false god centered around a belief in natural destruction. Xounii Resnen was the scout assigned to this area. She was given this task because of her expertise in shapeshifting. I told her to take the shape of a trusik native and interact with them to find out more information. She managed to fit in quite well. Perhaps too well. Gradually, reports came less frequently until they eventually stopped. While everyone feared she had suffered the same fate as the other scouts, I think she started to believe she was really a trusik and has abandoned her assignment. What I need you to do is go there and find her. Now, be careful, the trusik are not a friendly race of beings and they are even more irritated by the invasion of the Muramite army. When you find Xounii I fear she may attack you. If this happens, I will not fault you for defending yourself, but if it comes to this I want some form of proof as to what happened.'

Xounii's Journal

Xounii's Journal Page 1 drops randomly from the Primal creatures. It seems that one of these is in fact Xounii, so deeply shapeshifted she forgot she wasn't such a beast. Bring it back to L`diava.

Note: For information about getting past the locked door to the Primal Caves, see this quest entry.

L`diava Rexxen says 'Thank you for returning this to me. I wish the circumstances could have been different, but in honor of her memory, we will use this information to prevent the needless death of any other scouts. Now let me see what is written here. Hm. Seems she stumbled onto a secret ritual of some sort in an underground temple, called Uqua. Looks like the Muramites may be trying to reproduce another tear in space. This does not bode well for anyone. We must find out more about this. I must ask that you return to Yxtta and see if you can find any more of Xounii's entries. I cannot tell you where to start looking, but it seems that the best place to look would be in the caves where you found her. Xounii was very diligent about her reports so she would have written much about this. Try to find four more pieces of her journal entries and return them to me.'

The four pages mentioned are Xounii's Journal Page 2 Left Half (dropped by Primal Arachnid and random spiders), Xounii's Journal Page 2 Right Half (dropped by Pixtt Suir Mindrider and random mobs outside primal caves), Xounii's Journal Page 3 Left Half (dropped by Primal Insect and random insects), and Xounii's Journal Page 3 Right Half (dropped by Primal Reptile and random cragbeasts). Return the four pages to L`diava:

L`diava Rexxen tells you, 'You are truly a blessing from the gods. I thank you for risking your life to help the brotherhood and want to offer you this token of our appreciation. It is an item of dormant power locked within. The only way to unlock this power is to combine it with the stone Fezbin gave to you. Now that we have solved the mystery of Yxtta, I need assistance in Kod'Taz. If you are willing to help please ask me about this area.'

You were successful in helping L'Diava complete her report of Yxtta. Fezbin will be pleased, but there are others who need your help.

You receive A Translucent Gem Shard, which you may combine with one of the four versions of A Dirty Green Gemstone and Vaifan's Clockwork Gemcutter Tools in Vaifan's Experimental Sealer to craft A Translucent Green Gemstone.

Page 1 does not seem to drop from any of the Primals. The ONLY mob that drops it is the cavernous lifesipper/cragbeast bonecruncher/voracious beetle, A.K.A. the Xounii Shifter. She gets her name from the fact that she appears as one of the previously mentioned mobs depending on what area of the room she's in, and also at certain hp percentages.

If you DO complete this step the aug has NO stats until you complete #9. So you may want to hold off on doing the hand ins until your ready to do #9's hand in as well.

(Being as #8 stats are fairly decent..)

How to open the door to the door to the Primal Area

There are six Rooms guarded by stonegolems. For the solvment of this, do them clockwise, room 1 north east, room 2 east, etc. In each room are two statues and one in the middle, one the two side statues are needed. The event begins if you left mouseklick one of the side statues, no matter which one. Then you will get a red message, which is the riddle. Look at the text bellow which statue has to be klicked after the riddle has been given to receive the next riddle. Important: It takes some time to klick the statue after the riddle has been given, if you klick it too early, nothing will happen and you have to wait some more seconds but to fast klicking the right statue is not ending in a fail, just wait some time for your next klick. After a couple riddles, another red text will appear, saying "The sound of crumbling sounds can be heard audibly in the distance" ... if there is insead a yellow message, telling you something of footsteps etc. then you have screwed the event, leave the zone at once(since you will be attacked by stoneguardians) and start from the beginning.
12 statues, three riddles each, riddles are given randomly.

Statue 1, North-East Room, Left statue:
-Beginning new, the months refreshed, they youngest of us, I am but a babe.
-As far as needle is concerned. I am indeed in the right, and only just.
-With the sn at its highest, everyone takes refuge. I am the first to come out after the time of rest.

Statue 2, North-East Room, Right statue:
-Of thrushar I am the loved the most. To find me, you must understand the element and know the signs.
-The lodestone seeks me not, but always drifts near, as near as the sunrise.
-I am second of us, but not the least, it is time that tells all, I hear it next.

Statue 3, East Room, Left statue:
-Read your lodestone and you will find that I am sinister of the sunrise, but only just.
-I am 6 under noon.
-Trushor's servant of tail and fin, I am their sign. Seek me within.

Statue 4, East Room, Right statue:
-If time flies, add are to thee then move on to me.
-Peril I am not, Remove the second in me and give me the first in aid, and with but little confusion I can be found.
-Where your magnet points I will not be found. Seek me just beyond the sunrise.

Statue 5, South-East Room, Left statue:
-As each month passes, so I may.
-If my clock had your digits, I would be this.
-I can bear a load of any stone, but have only one eye to see. Remove the of the majority of the eye from what you see.

Statue 6, South-East Room, Right statue:
-You may find yourself in a pinch, should you fail to see my sign.
-You lay arrow straight, your face to face, find me at your right foot.
-Seeking news of me, up and down. Tradition has me down, but the risind sun uplifts my spirits ever so slightly.

Statue 7, South-West Room, Left statue:
-Spin your compas aas you will, I shall be the rear still.
-Halp past six, there are no tricks.
-I am the month of a pair and hand.

Statue 8, South-West Room, Right statue:
-My time is at the end of light and the edge of night.
-If our schedules match, you shall find me in the most dignified company.
-Be certain of your heading and make for the place twixt the sunset and the tail of the lodestone.

Statue 9, West Room, Left statue:
-Creatures of Trushar are often protected by those that are my symbol.
-The river flows to be cradled in the sea. Time flows, but is lost, when is it devoured.
-Face the setting sund and you will feel the heat of my presence. You grow colder as you follow guidance of the lodestone.

Statue 10, West Room, Right statue:
-I am the hour that exists betwixt twice two primes.
-My aged father is the sun, my least cousin the lodestone.
-I am eight in name, but not in sequence.

Statue 11, North-West Room, Left statue:
-When the needle is lessened by a triple net of degrees you shall find me.
-It is your stly and your gnomon that will help you find me. I am the hour of the sum of the consituents of relative term of terms.
-I am the month that brings most of something new and a large portion of reminiscences.

Statue 12, North-West Room, Right statue:
-If you are disarmed, watch your blade fall. Where it leads will answer all.
-I come last and in number am the greatest, yet when I have passed and all of my kind haven ended, I return in part in the number the follows me.
-When brightest day and darkest night are indistinguishable.

We killed all 3 Primals today with a dozen Tacvi/Qvic geared people. They all dropped a single BiC quest piece each. We also killed the shapeshifter twice, which is the only mob that killed any of us (our tank died the first time he came). We were actually here for alt Qvic access pieces, the BiC stuff and primal loot was just gravy. Having done this several times before, my recommendation on the shapeshifter is that if you see him then pull it because otherwise he is going to jump your group at the worst possible time. In the time it took to get 6 people their alt Qvic access poison components, we were able to kill all 3 primals and clear the trash about twice (rough guess) and the shapeshifter twice. Two pages for BiC dropped from the trash mobs in that time.

Observations:

1) The information posted in the quest notes above appears to be wrong. I'm 90% or more certain that what I'm posting, however, is correct. I've done this portion of the quest for three characters now.

2) You don't need to kill any Primals to complete this quest, but if you have the means it is an option and they have some very decent loot.

3) All of these drops only occur in Yxtta -- no other zone is valid.

Page info:

* Xounii's Journal Page 1 -- easiest to get from Tqiv Trusik Fanatic (important -- see notes for this mob)

* Xounii's Journal Page 2 Left Half -- easiest to get from various arachnids, the largest concentration of which are in Primal Arachnid's cave

* Xounii's Journal Page 2 Right Half -- easiest to get from various zone mobs that are not arachnids, cragbeasts, or beetles (read: muramites) from around the zone -- note that I got mine while doing the cragbeast queen caster belt quest at the west Yxtta-Kod'taz zoneline in Yxxta

* Xounii's Journal Page 3 Left Half -- eeasiest to get from various beetles (insects), the largest concentration of which are in Primal Insect's cave

* Xounii's Journal Page 3 Right Half -- easiest to get from various cragbeasts, the largest concentration of which are in Primal Reptile's cave

Despite my belief that what I've posted is accurate, it has been a while since I've done it. I'm certain the page drops are at the very least consistent, however, so a given mob dropping a given page means other page drops from that mob will be the same page. If I've posted something wrong you'll know very fast.

Please post any corrections beneath to help other BiC'rs ^^.
