' You say, 'What training' Lendel Deeppockets says 'There are many steps that young rouges must take on the road to stealth. The most important part of your training is learning how to use the tools around you such as the forge. From the looks of you I can tell you could use some more [enchanted armor] as well so I think this would be a good learning experience. ' You say, 'What enchanted armor' Lendel Deeppockets says 'I am pleased to hear that you are interested in making your own armor Makkinry. I have some instructions for you so please listen closely. First, I will present you with your Dusty Mail Assembly kit when you are ready. After that, simply tell me what piece of Slickfinger Chainmail you [want] to craft and I will give you a pattern along with a recipe for [Coifs], [Bracers], [Sleeves], [Boots], [Legplates], [Gloves] and [Tunics]. The recipe I will give you for specific items will need to me combined in the assembly kit to create the magical material necessary. Once you have this material and pattern that I gave you when you told me what item you wanted to craft, put both in the nearest forge to create the armor piece you asked for. Here is your Dusty Mail Assembly Kit. ' You say, 'I want to craft the sleeves' Lendel Deeppockets says 'If sleeves are what you wish to craft you will need to collect 3 Bricks of Crude Iron Ore, 3 Honeycombs, 2 Thorn Drakeling Scales and 2 Grapes then combine them in your kit to fashion the necessary material. Also, bixkin roams the hole killing the drakelings as they spawn.

Im not sure this is tottaly correct but there is whole near the wall around neg413, neg538 where I have watched drakeling spawns. After sitting there for a few haveing a friend go around killing stuff I found the drakelings would spawn more often after killing bixies.

I hunted Misty for all my newbie armor with my cleric. When I was hunting for the Drake & YJ I ran through the newbie area killing everything, especially the large monsters & bixies. When I did that there seemed to be a plentiful amount of Drakes & YJs. Also, made a ton of money selling the spiderling silks & bixie parts I collected along the way, over 250pp!! Anywho, at times it can be teadious, but when yah got ur full set of armor, you will be well satisfied.

The spawn rates for this stuff is horrible. Did the freeport bard armor quest in around 3 hours. None of it was rare spawn. I think VI is out to get halflings.
Either you have it backwards or you were very lucky with lots of help.

Does anybody know... Do the Drakelings have a spawn trigger? I've only seen 5 Drakelings (3 of them my kills) in over 5 days of play... all of them near the path between the Hill Tower and the Undead ruins. The spawn rate on these seems pretty woeful, same with the Large Yellowjackets.

out of 20 drakelings i got 1 pristine, 3 regular, and 8 ruined so i think its luck of the draw.
That cannot be ture. Ive killed over 40 and got 1 pristine, and about a dozen ruined. Never once have I ever seen a regular "thorn drakeling scale". Does anyone know if they are no drop?

Hi :) Can someone direct me to which zones to find the Thorn Drakelings, Giant Wood Spiders and Yellow Jackets. Thanks

These can be found in Misty Thicket. I've been camping Giant Wood Spiders and Large Yellowjackets for 2 days now and have yet to get a GWS Femur or large yellowjacket thorax to drop.
As far as the drakelings go, I've killed what seems like a few hundred and, so far, have only gotten one Pristine Drakeling Scale and several ruined scales.

After about 2 weeks of steady hunting, I finally found the dumb giant YJ thorax. And I got a regular drakeling scale on the first one I killed. After about 40 more, I have yet to find another one. Found about 8 ruined ones, but no luck on the regular one. Same with the large YJ sternite. No luck. Is there any systematic way to get the drakelings and large YJ's to spawn, or is it basically kill every mob I see in the newbie area?

Just curious.. I've slain three or four dozen drakelings and have only come up with RUINED scales, which of course don't work. Do other scales drop from these things?

Yes... the first thorn drakeling i killed dropped a normal scale... but now i cant seem to find another one.
