Visit Ulraz S`Lon in the Lodge of the Dead, Neriak 3rd Quarter. He is one of the Shadowknight trainers in the center room on the first floor of the building.
You say, 'Hail, Ulraz S`Lon' Ulraz S`Lon says 'So you are the next pathetic maggot I have the displeasure of training to be a useful Shadowknight of the Lodge of the Dead. First you must get yourself outfitted in a suit of [armor], those rags you wear can not even contain the stench of your miserable hide and will do no good protecting it from the edge of an enemies blade.' You say, 'What armor?' Ulraz S`Lon says 'Seek Krivn S'Tai in the Commoner quarter of Neriak and give him this request parchment. Krivn S'Tai has been paid in advance by the Lodge of the Dead for the requested service. Simply give him the request parchment and he will instruct you further. When you have outfitted yourself in a suit of armor return to the Lodge of the Dead and I will grant you [another task].' Take the Parchment he gives you to Krivn S`Tai in the Blue Flame (BF) in Neriak Commons. When you hand him the parchment he will give you an 8 slot combinable container ('Mail Creation Kit'). Follow the dialog, using the appropriate [Key words] until Krivn lists the types of armour you can make. Then ask him about each piece to find out the recipe: You say, 'Another task?' Ulraz S`Lon says 'Ah, you are eager to advance further within the Lodge of the Dead. Although it is my duty to aid your training, do not allow your arrogance to blind you to your lowly position amongst the Queens most loyal subjects. Your next task is to assist the construction of a [weapon] and [shield] worthy of being wielded by a Shadowknight of the Lodge of the Dead.' You say, 'What shield?' Ulraz S`Lon says 'The bones of the dead that dig from their graves at the [Ultricle] in the Nektulos Forest have been strengthened by the minerals and ashen soil. Return some of these walking dead to the rest they have abandoned and bring to me four Petrified Femurs.' Off to Ultricle. In the end Petried Femurs dropped from "A Decaying Councilman." I had to kill 76 to get the 4 I needed. Back to Ulraz to hand them in: Ulraz S`Lon fashions the petrified femurs into a shield frame. 'This will be the frame of your new shield. Return now again to the Nektulos Forest, in the gray ashen region of the forest near the Lavastorm mountains the basilisks often come down from the fiery peaks to lay their eggs in the ashen soil. Basilisk hatchlings can be found there as they make their way towards the warmer interior of the mountains. Hunt these basilisk hatchlings and gather two Basilisk Hatchling Skins. Once this is done take the skins and frame to Medron Y'Lask at the Furrier Royale.' Your faction standing with The Dead has been adjusted by 15. Your faction standing with Queen Cristanos Thex has been adjusted by 2. Your faction standing with King Naythox Thex has been adjusted by -2. Your faction standing with Keepers of the Art has been adjusted by -2. Your faction standing with Eldritch Collective has been adjusted by -2. Your faction standing with Primordial Malice has been adjusted by -30. You gain experience!! So off to the Ultricle again. 16 Basilisk Hatchlings later... I could not find a trigger phrase for him, so I just handed him my 2 Hatchling Skins and my Shield Frame. His shop "Furrier Royale" is in the small square directly opposite the gate entering Neriak - 3rd Gate. Medron Y`Lask stretches and fastened the basilisk skins across the shield frame and attaches a leather strap and grip to the back of the shield. 'Here is your new shield young Shadowknight. I have been paid in advance by the Lodge of the Dead for the shields assembly. May Innoruuk strengthen you in your service to Her Majesty Queen Cristanos.' Your faction standing with Dark Bargainers has been adjusted by 5. Your faction standing with Dreadguard Outer has been adjusted by 1. I hunted for days and days to get all the components. I should have enough bone chips to last for a long, long time. The hardest things to get were the petrified femurs. I finally camped at p 2060, p 1265. The Decaying Councilman has a spawn time of approximately 6 minutes which is the same time that the Siphon Strength spell lasts. When I would start meleeing with the Decaying Councilman, I would cast this spell. When the spell started to fade, POP another Decaying Councilman would spawn. This sure beats running all over the place and drawing agro. Every now and then a Greater Skeleton or Annulkeeper would spawn nearby. The last night I spent about an hour at this camp and Mobs dropped 2 petrified femurs, a petrified humerus, a calcified ribcage, calcified finger bones, calcified toe bones, and innumerable bones.

Hail and Praise Innoruuk!
I was very displeased with the sword, and I know I'll be equally with the shield, although the fact that it's not NO DROP does sound promissing. I keep the sword in my bank just in case I get killed in a difficult spot, however, I might as well sell this shield. The experience was good, and made these item quests (barely) worth the trouble.
I bought a Sporali Defender Blade in the bazaar for 50plat and a Chitin Shell Shield for the same price.(and they look cooler with my Full Bone Mail)

YEAH, finally got the BP last night, just need the arms, legs and shield :). Anyway, why is the armor no drop but the sheild is not?

I've been hunting in those initiates for days, i've killed thousands of them and i only have 1 femur. Does anyone know if anything other than the decaying initiates drop the femur? Thanks

I finally got a petrified rib, and a petrified humerous to make the weapon for this quest. And when you give the dude the stuff, he gives you a dull blade and a hilt, i need to find a sharpening stone is or something but i dont know where, does any know the next step after you recieve the hilt and blade

the sharpening stones can be found in the blind fish, the merchant that is in the lower level playing darts sells them, the blind fish is one of the shops located with the bank in nerriak.
buy a stack of the sharpening stones (they are 3c each) got to the forge bear the bank. and combine the dull blade wit ha stone untill u gert a sharpened blade back (May take several tries).
once u have the sharpened blad go into the merchant right there infront of the forge and give the blade and the hilt to the woman wearing the leather armor.

does anything besides greater skeletons, and calcified skeletons drop calcified bones ? i have killed billions of them both and havent had a lot of luck.

i have been trying to find a petrified humerus bone but i cant do it is there a bug that wont let it drop or is it extremly rare?

i got one recently... then i destroyed it like an idiot... now im looking at this quest its gonna be hard..
Indeed I finally have completed this silly shield quest. It is a AC 7 +1 Int +1 poison +1 disease. back and secondary slot. Makes a good cloack for me at 16th. Better than raw-hide.

Is basilisk hatchling hides the same as skins? I've killed so many basilisk hatchlings & no skins. Thanks for the info.

Whatever the skins that drop off the basilisk hatchlings in the Ultricle area are called... they aren't a rare drop, maybe uncommon... they look sort of like a brown cactus thingie

i will take a screen shot ... got the full armour on a female DE ... looks identical to fine plate ...

Shield is small, round, and brown - nothing spectactular to look at. That's why I put it on my back; better than the cape I was wearing.
Well, I have a full suit of the armor. I am missing one petrified femur for the shield (of course I don't have the petrified humerus.)
Realistically, it's taken me from lvl 5 when u can get all the patterns to lvl 14.5 to have what I have...Last night looked some more and now I'm 3blue pixels from being 15th. Make sure to /ooc any unusual bones. That way everyone can get a suit of the new DE quest armors. I guess I'll submit my pic wearing the full suit.

btw, this shield is really great for newbs in the sence that it is the easiest atainable non twink magic shield you can get, so it allows you to basht the new willowisps hehe.

The shield you get is called a Scled Femur Shield. AC 7 INT +1 Poison +1 Magic +1

Boy are u wrong... i did this quest and got the shield but it has no slot availiable for (eg. primary, secondary) or even stats for it... i report the bug to verant hopefully THEY DO SOMETHING quick ). the shield u did probably was the rogue shield

I finally got my 4th femur just a few minutes ago and handed them in. The result is *not* a shield... yet. Ulraz makes the bones into a shield frame, and tells you to give the frame and 2 basilisk hatchling skins to Medron Y`Lask in the Furrier Royale. Since the skins are MUCH easier to get then the femurs were, and aren't no drop, I should have them pretty soon, and will report back hehe...
