You say, 'I wish to prove my allegiance'

Daloran Glimmerblade says 'Ah that is excellent to hear _______. I believe I have a task that I could entrust you with. I have numerous Gemmed sword hilts that I have yet to attach to a blade. You say, 'what unknown force'

Daloran Glimmerblade says 'I wish that I was able to discover this myself. Unfortunately not one person in my quarter possesses such identification powers. However, I do have a [friend] in Katta Castellum that specializes in discovering such magical origins.

You say, 'who is your friend'

Daloran Glimmerblade says 'Yaeorat is who I speak of, he is a very trusted and old friend of mine that is a very powerful and skillfull enchanter. Will you bring to him the [Gemmed sword hilt]? I feel that if anyone will be able to identify this it will be Yaeorat.

You say, 'I will bring him a Gemmed Sword Hilt'

Anyone know what Faction Yaeorat is on? As a Dark Elf Cleric Daloran Glimmerblade gave me the quest, however when i got to Katta they hated me, invis potions got me thru fine but wasn't sure if i could drop invis to hand in the Hilt. Anyone know what Faction Yaeorat is on?

The trade commisioners quest gives faction to all in Shadowhaven, but not equally. Fortunately, you can do the quest multiple times, raising faction each time until eventually the collar is no longer needed. The trade commisoners quest, seems to be a general quest, find an NPC in the quarter you want to raise faction in, and do a quest for him/her. Your faction for that part of the city should go up more than the others.

I see what everyone said and I just recently finished the Mistala quest (she stands next to Daloran) Easy enough thing to do. However in the mist of my research into how to get to Katta without getting wacked, I was told by a very kind person that all i needed to do was go to the trade commissioner and do the two delivery quests which would yeild a collar that could be worn. Two very easy quests, yes one does go thru to Fungus grove, but you only have to do these quests one time. I did it and have the collar and now the cleric guild will actually sell me my spells now, altho they still won't train me. May have to do the Mistala quest a few times. I have yet to brave the Daloran quest even tho i can get to the fungus grove. But not sure about rest of journey thru twilight sea and to katta. Also you can avoid going thru fungus all together with a druid that can group port to twilight seas. Yes they have a druid ring on the same island as fungus grove port. My cleric is 26 and my wiz is 18. Wiz can do invis so should be easier however someone told me some of the mobs can see invisible and some are invisible. Hope this helps some ppl out.

The necklace doesn't give faction with ALL the people of shadow haven though, I think that's why people may be confused, it gives me amiable to most of the merchants near the nexus zone platform. But the ones in the fordel quarter will still not sell to me. The tailors and the people in the Trade Commisioner's building are the only exceptions for the fordel quarter.

Are you a wizard with no place to call home in Shadowhaven? Do you suffer from being an outcast there? You TOO can be accepted with open arms in the fair hole... err city of Shadowhaven! And here's how!

Get to Katta, don't matter how. Go to the huge castle looking building with all the rooms in it, I dont know the name. No, not the caster's guild. The one with the gardner who cons red to a 51 wizard when some of the guards are light blue (?!?!). Find Yaeorat within and bind in front of him. Use Nexus Gate and go to Daloran Glimmerblade in Shadowhaven (I recommend using the teleporter pad to the east of the nexus zone-in). Make a hotkey that has this:
/say I will bring a gemmed sword hilt.

Get that hilt, use Gate. hand in sword hilt.

    Nexus Gate.
    Find Daloran
    hotkey
    Gate
    Turn in
    Nexus gate

repeat as many times as desired. In 1 hour I went from dubious (no shadowhaven quests ever done) to a nice Indifferent. another hour or 2 and I would be ally doing this simple quest.

Mind you, I would have gone up in faction sooner, but with a talkative guild... well you know.

I tried this in order to learn more about Luclin. I have had the expansion for months and never gone there. I relied heavily on eqatlas to give me direction but I got into trouble as there is no map for fungus grove.

I found that my 29th level Mage was not bothered by creatures in fungus grove as long as he had invisibility. The problem is that ivis runs out at the darndest times. I got lost in fungus grove and died. I was bound in Unrest but luckly a bard guildie ran me back to Gfay's portal and I was able to get back, find my body, get a 95% rez from someone named Bangaz. Then while I was recovering I was given a neat earing by a lvl 60 Wizard named Warzen.

I was really impressed with how helpfull everyone was and I thanked everyone. The cleric did not even stay around after the rez. I was wanting to donate but I guess he did not need it , grin.

After reading the info here I can see that fungus grove , (with directions), would be the way to complete this quest. I tried about 4 different routes and all of them ended up going through high level areas that seemed a bit much considering this quest is for all levels. I will try again and see what happens, now that I am bound in Nexus, grin.

As far as faction, some merchants will sell to me and some will not. I am a dark elf Magician and that makes it more interesting. I do think this quest is excellent for learning about Luclin as it forced me to do some research on various paths from Shadowhaven to Katta Castellum.

    Sincerely,

    Hi all !
To get this quest you have 2 ways :
One by fungus groove (the fastest) but this zone is HIGH LEVEL .. all will agro you ! You need a good druid with levitate and invisiblity and it's ok . Follow the Left wall and turn on the left entrance the go up there is an entry with a tunnel. follow it and you entre to Twilight Zone. After you can join Katta Castellum without problem.
The second way is longer by Hollowshade Moor. Lots of mobs but in group it's easiest.
Ok then and take care !

#Anonymous, Posted: Mar 26 2002 at 6:14 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I am a barbarian warrior. I went to Shadow haven to see what I could see and all i found was prejudice. The people of the Frodel Quadrant were not willing to sell to barbarian ilk, or dwarf or vah shir from the other ppl i saw trying. My question is do i need to do both the gemmed hilt and the smuggler report quest in order to be liked in SH? Every merchant I hail tells me to talk to Daloran and Mistala. I did the Mistala faction quest (and the Trade Commisioner too) do I have to do the quest that Daloran provides or do i just have to keep raising my faction until in the shopkeeper's eyes i have not ruined my own lands and he/she won't let me ruin theirs? Or do barbarians/dwarves/vah shir get shafted in SH?

This quest screams multi part quest.

Does anyone know if there is any further to this? Such as crafting blades or something.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 14 2002 at 3:38 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Okay to all you guys/gals ******** about who got screwed on the SoL expansion, SHUT UP!!!! First off if it was GREAT for everyone then it would make the game so much easier....and thats what sets EQ apart from every other game. Length, and difficulty. Also, if your crying that you got screwed, NO ONE (except people with my same prob) got screwed more than me!!!! Since i don't make a lot of money i can't afford a better computer, and guess what....My computer cant handle Shadow's of Luclin. After the first patch my computer couldn't handle it. Meaning i can't play EQ anymore, consider yourselves lucky you can still play!!!All I get to do is look it up on awesome internet site's like Allakhazam.com = ). And watch everyone ***** about how bad it is now...BOO HOO
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 22 2002 at 3:28 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ummm, try uninstalling Luclin. If you still can't run it's either you need more RAM which is cheap as hell (got a 128 DIMM stick for 15 bucks) or you need a video card (again cheap as hell, 30 or 40 bucks for 32 meg card)
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 12 2002 at 11:25 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) quit blabbering get back to the quest. do that crap in chat. where the heck is Yaeorat at? 90,30 they say. ( yeah right) like where exactly . DRUIDS RULE***

#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 10 2002 at 10:23 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Why whine? Deal with it. I've played a ranger since EQ came out and I've never complained about the fact that I can't even gate gotta run every where even though I'm supposed to be a hybrid druid class. I run I run I run. So the poor DRUID had to run across 3 zones D**N his little feet(No offense to halflings) are gonna fall off. I've run all over Norrath and never complained about it. Just run like the rest of us have had to for ages. You get to see alot more and pick up some pretty kewl stuff when you have to set your pretty little feet on every square food of ground to get where your going. No offense to all the kewl druids out there that port for free though! I know alot of them don't complain. Learn By Example and don't complain just do what you can and have fun doing it!
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 02 2002 at 7:19 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I wish you whiners would realize something. Verant isn't intentionally ******** anyone. But they are far from perfect. SO they maybe try to adjust a certain class/race from time to time. And maybe they go a bit too far in one direction and overshoot their intentions. They don't want to be constantly tinkering with in-game stuff, so they wait till an expansion or major patch to shift things a bit. As one who has never played a single day as a druid or wizard, I have always thought it was a bit unfair that they can quad-kite while other classes can't. I have never heard a druid complain about this ability. Not once. Imagine that. If it seems that your class gets screwed by a change in the game, maybe it just seems like it because you're down here with the rest of us grunts actually working for your experience and loot now, okay?
#Anonymous, Posted: Dec 31 2001 at 7:01 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) So can I say Warriors get screwed becouse we cannot gate back? Or we have to go threw Pal, Hollow, Griml, Tene, Katta and back that way becouse we cannot cast invis to go threw Fungus? Well I would say that everyone has there strong and weak spots. Druids should be happy that they cannot port up there. Else you would get a bunch of people asking to get ported back and forth.

It appears that Iskar are not welcome in Katta. In the process of discovering this I met a ShadowKnight that told me they are not welcome either. I have not, yet, discovered how to raise faction with Katta though rumor has it that killing vampire bats may be key.
