    Lord Qyzar is standing on the parapet one level up in the SK guild, at +1005, -150. At the end of the previous quest, he mentioned the [visceral dagger].

    You say, 'What of the visceral dagger?'

    Lord Qyzar says 'The visceral dagger was an ancient torturing weapon. I do not know much of it other than that it was forged by a member of the Brood of Kotiz, but that was ages ago. He is surely dust by now.'

    Now go play with the Kly Imprecators in Dalnir and bring back the visceral dagger (see details in that quest link) and your Crusader Khukri for the Hero's Khukri.

    On handing it in:


    Lord Qyzar says 'I am saddened by your failure to procure the visceral dagger and your crusader khukri. You are no hero!!'
    Lord Qyzar gazes in astonishment at the dagger. 'Ahhh!! You have brought the sacred visceral dagger back to the Temple of Terror. Let all be aware that the great ______ has returned to Cabilis a hero!! You now wield the weapon of a hero. Hail, ______, hero of the Crusaders of Greenmist.'
    Your faction standing with Crusaders Of Greenmist got better.
    Your faction standing with Legion of Cabilis could not possibly get any better.

    Blacksmith guy was up first visit.
    Shackle room imprecator popped after 4 spawns.
    Laboratory imprecator after 3 spawns.
    Church imprecator after 30-35 spawns.
    It is on a 12 mins timer so that helps.

    About 10 hours in total. Bring a book, this one can be painful. Like someone else said, loop all the spawns or park a toon at every one of them if you can to make this faster.

    Was easy at 55 on live but shackle room is a 3-4 mobs pull, same for blacksmith. 2-3 pulls in the lab but church is crowded and it is pretty much a 3 pull with a possible 2-4 adds at that level. Nothing that was unmanagable at 55 on live but church could be painful if you're in your 40s or with era gear. They also run at low health so use snare, a loose runner could be problematic fast.

    At 60, this took around a little less than 4 to 5 hours. I invis and run circuit laps of Dalnir from the entrance to the 2nd floor shackle room in the northeast, then down the 3rd floor trap door to undead blacksmith room, next to the church alter, then finish up last in the one way trip to laboratory. Proceed out the exit, restart the circuit and wait at the next spawn point. Far faster than trying to single camp idleness when you can increase your odds by 4. When you have 3 dagger parts and the blacksmith hammer, go to right before the kly overseer room and combine them in the forge to produce the visceral dagger

    Just a note on the spawn location of the Chem lab mob. For me it was the lab to the left and he spawned over by the tables. Now on to the next quest.

    This was relatively easy for my 57 gnome sk. Everything was right where eqatlas and the alla posts said.

    First day, my sk entered the Shackle Room and saw an imprecator right off, but it despawned right away. Two hours later, still no imprecator and none of other required mobs were up either.

    Second day, camped my three boxes at three diff spawn places...as it turns out, that was unnecessary. In about an hour, two of the imps and the blacksmith spawned and were killed/looted by sk. The imp at the church, however, took 7 hours to spawn.

    In the church, I at first kept the whole room clear. After a few hours, I got lazy and only kept two mobs cleared: the one in the center at the table, and the one closest to the corner I was camping my toons in.

    After getting the items, the combine in the forge worked without a problem.

    doing this quest I guess I just got lucky or something.

    Imp #1 - second spawn
    Undead Blacksmith - fouth spawn

    did it all in one afternoon I hope my luck continues as I head to the greenmist. I see all these horror stories about long camps and cringe.

    But seriously, to those who are still doing this quest, take heart - it's not broken, just very, VERY long.

    I finally got my last shard last night, after about thirty hours...now, I have to figure out where I stashed my Khukri...:P

    i have them all exseped the last peas for this manly becuse i cant get thro the secret wall with my iksar he to big and u cant get out les u go thro there. lucky i was with a 66 wis so we just gated out but still need to go in there most mobes where green to me at lvl 46 but lots of argo.

    so bring a frend that can shrink u down or grab a poshin =(

    ok well here is my 2 cents..my 51sk soloed this quest,,,hammer took 2 hrs, hilt got lucky and mob was there whn i got to room,,,chuch suks,,,8hrs camping b4 mob poped, and the lab was bout 4 hrs

    Just a short blurb as no posts in the past few months. Did this yesterday at 44, with girlfriends 44 shammy in tow for regen and haste. Everything still exactly as posted. Total time, around 6 hours, 4 of which were at lab. Not sure if they've tweeked the spawns some, or if I was just lucky. As previously stated, high magic resist is very helpful.

    Don't try the overseer (he was blue) without good magic resist, as he charms nonstop.

    I noticed that after raising my main factions to warmly with bone chips (note: you don't have to farm them, just get a necro to make them for you by the stack), I was KoS with the iksar at the top of the Shadow Knight guildhall. I found out that he was on Brood of Kotiz faction, but I didn't want to raise it .. so I got some Iksar illusion potions, which helped me avoic all faction issues and get through the quest fine.

    whoever thought this one up needs be drug into the street and shot. the kly imprecators in the church and lab will strain your focus far more than the faction questing involved for non-iksar. they are sufficiently rare that i did not manage to pop the lab after a 12 hour stint of camping it (no breaks at all) with my 52 DE SK. a friend informs me he logged close to 150 hours (no joke) in the church and lab between levels 49 and 55 before he got both shards.

    at least i learned patience from all the explorers and fallen iksar i had to farm, not to mention froglok raiders. but seriously, a time sink of this magnetude is inappropriate for a midpoint subquest. the lord of pain khukri and greenmist itself involve enough difficulty acquiring drops from hard to reach places that they could have made the visceral dagger subquest SLIGHTLY easier. no one, iksar or non-iksar, deserves a 150hr camp to gain a crappy weapon that only has a use in a very long and involved quest.

    why not just have the pieces drop more often from more difficult mobs. risk vs reward and such. i'd rather die to a mob than boredom...

    EDIT: total time for each piece of the dagger, solo at level 52:

    Kly Imprecator 1: 45min
    Undead Blacksmith: was up when i entered his room
    Kly Imprecator 2 (church): 4.5hrs straight
    kly Imprecator 3 (lab): 20hrs in 2 camp sessions

    i consider myself pretty lucky after hearing some of the horror stories of friends.

    My horror story...
    Shackle Room: about 15 hours
    Blacksmith: about 20 hours
    Church: about 8 hours
    Lab: 6 hours (havent gotten him to pop yet either)

    An i'm ready to do this quest but every time i go to Dalnir im the only one in the zone. I'm gona try and get a few people from my guild to help me so this. How long do you estimate it will take for a group of 30 to low 40 to get the peices?

    this quest is reather simple. i (47sk) have been soloing the whole thing. the only real test here is that on your patience...i spent over 10 hours in the church till i finally got my stupid shard. ive put well over 15 hours into this quest and have yet to get my last piece (chem labs...)

    I just finished my crusader's khukri today. Got a 50 shad to help and it was a breeze. I don't think this quest would be harder depending on what lvl you are.

    From what I understand (haven't done it myself, I just read a lot... lol)
    You need to get 3 pieces of the visceral dagger which are dropped by 3 imprecators in 3 different areas and a forged hammer dropped by undead blacksmith.

    1) Imprecator, dagger hilt - 2nd floor, #2 on Dalnir - Second Level from EQ Atlas.
    2) Imprecator, sharp metal shard - 3rd floor, #3 on Dalnir - Third Level from EQ Atlas.
    3) Imprecator, jagged metal shard - 3rd floor, #5 on Dalnir - Third Level from EQ Atlas.
    4) Undead Blacksmith, forged hammer of Dalnie - 3rd floor, #9 on Dalnir - Third Level from EQ Atlas.

    Note: The original description said that the forged hammer is no rent. But many posts defy such claim and they still got the hammer after they logged. I haven't verified that.

    After you get all the items above, go to the forge, #10 on the Third Level map. Put them all in the forge and you should obtain the visceral dagger.

    I went to the forge once and saw the 2 klys beating the crap out of the coerced smith. If you catch him at the right time, I would assume that he will help you to kill the klys. That's if they haven't finished him first... LOL

    Oh yeah, you know that the Overseer casts 400-500 DD spell?

    Finally- What a relief finally got the Visceral Dagger to finish this quest. I have all the pages for the Grand Lord as well as 2 keys.

    I am on Xegony if anyone has any questions on the quests - Just Give me a shout.

    If u camp the church, go in invis'd. Go to the tapestry behind the altar and attack the first mob behind the altar. The other tow Kly's will heal him, but they will not agro. Next attack the other two Kly's after u are fm and fhp, one at a time. each spawn is 15 min, so I timed each to attack them 5 minutes apart which allowed me plenty of thime to heal.
    the lab camp was even easier than the cheat said. I jumped on the table on the far side of the room right in front of the spawn, invis'd of course. and I attacked just the spawn right in front of the table. The other Kly did not agro or heal his fellow Kly.
    The Blacksmith and Shackle rooms u still have to clear to get. I found farmers often in the shackle room, so this one was relatively easy with their help. I found pulling into the hallway on the blacksmith room the best method.

    That weapon isn't all that bad but making the Visceral Dagger just to give it away..... reward should be better =/
