What level is that unicorn and what level are those ghast things?

OK, most of the people who posted on how to do this quest assumed that your a druid who can port, snare, and track the mobs, and thats not right. For all you Clerics trying to do this, heres how I did it at lvl 21.

FIRST NECKLACE: Ok, so you handed in your Bone CHips, and Yeolard sends you off to LFay to hunt those Ghastys. Easy right? Nope. The Brownies cause problems, and the Ghasts are hard to find, even with a Drood tracking, but we have the ultimate weapon here:Sense the Dead! Just, if you canm get a wolf form (Not necessary) or SoW and cast Sense dead from the GFay zone. If your lucky to target a Ghast, RUN TO HIM. If you get like a mummy or skelly, KILL IT, then sense again. (NOTE, start this around 5PM, because Ghasts only spawn at night and you want the zone pretty clear of undead to allow those Ghasts to spawn) Just do this till you find your 4 Ghasty hearts, and if you die, use /loc before you die, makes finding corpse much easier.

SECOND NECKLACE: Ok, hand in your hearts, he gives you your Initiate symbol with a poison/disease buff. Believe it or not, it's useful for this quest. OK, back to LFAY (I know your sick of it by now) and Sense dead again. You need to find a mummy or a skelly on that spell, because one of them will lead you to the Obelisk where the Necro spawns. OK, to do this, first Bind yourself at the entrance to GFay. You will need to Gate back here AS SOON AS THE NECRO DIES, to catch the Courier. Ok, done that? Good, now keep sensing and killing till you find the Obelisk. set up camp on the hill next to it, but not so close to the skelly up there as to agroe him =P. OK, once it becomes twilight, around 6PM, make sure both spawns on the Obelisk itself are dead, and kill all the others in ther area, I think there are about 2 others....OK, the dude on the second step has the option of being the necro, so if it pops and it is NOT the necro, kill it IMMEDIATELY, and med.Just keep the camp clear really, and when, about a year from now =), he pops, kill him before he can summon a pet, Root and Nuke usually works, but you MUST save alot of mana! The courier is harder. As soon as the necro falls, loot his head quickly, and gate back to the GFay zone area. Now look to the left of zone, toward Steamfont, the Courier wil come arunnin, and if he's green to you, will run right past. (This is one of those times when you WANT something to agroe you) as soon as you can target him, cast a nuke or root or stun or anything to get his attention, and battle for your life. Once you can get him to die, loot his head and Crate and back to Felwithe with ye!

THIRD NECKLACE: Hand in the Necro's head, the Courier's head, his crate, and your Initiate symbol for the Disiple symbol, which has a more powerful disease/poinson buff =P. Now, take the candlestick and beg for a port to Toxxulia forest, and head to Erudin. I dont know the way from toxx to Erudin, but just ask for the loc. Once in Erudin, go to the Enchanter's guild ( dont remember the way there either) and find the High Elf chick named Trilani Parlone , she'll give you a baggy or something. OK, now it gets tedious cuz we cant port. Go to Splitpaw, and ask around for looting rights to the White Hellabore (its a plant) or buy it from someone. Well, that was easy! Now onward to Lavastorm mountains, where you actually have to do some work! go to the Fire Goblin camp closest to Najena, NOT THE ONE ABOVE THE ENTRANCE TO SOLA, and huntem down till you get your pouchy. Now onward to Mistmoore. This is the hardest part, because you need to GO to where the fluid drops. Just sit down near the zone and auction to buy the looting rights to some Caustic Fluid. You'll eventually get some, I did in 5 minutes =). Now find a brew barrel anywhere (Closest one is in Felwithe, in the store Talkor's Poison or something like that. Theres one downstairs there. I dont think you can fail on this, but I had a brewing skil on 80 something, so not sure. Anyway, brew the stuff, bind near the CLeric guild if you wish, and buy a port to Tixxulia forest again, and run back through erudin to the High Elf chick, and give her the brewed result. She will give you Unanimation powder, which has one charge of a strong undead nukey, but DONT USE IT! Ive heard rumors that using that charge will make the powder disappear, and then you'd have to start from the begining of the first quest! So deliver the powerder to Yeolard and now you have your Warden Symbol of Tunare! This has a WIS bonus and lets you right-click Grasping Roots, a 10 dmg root, unlimited charges. I love it so much im still using it at lvl 30, with NO PLANS of getting rid of it. This is one of the few items that give Clerics the power to solo. Take this baby and go to Lake of Ill Omen, and try it out on those Sarnaks and Gobbys, yull see what I mean. Also, if your oom, you can just keep rightclicking this, slowly..........slowly.....killing your opponent, I killed a yellow sarnak that way.

This quest is a frustrating quest if you try to camp the ghasts. Don't do it. The easiest way to do this quest is to check the zone periodically. Here is how. Go to the house where Happ Grimblenod lives, (right near the steamfront zone). Stand on the east side of the house and pull up track. If no Ghasts show up on track, leave the zone and check later. Generally the ghasts spawn in pairs. One has the heart, and one does not. If you find them on track, there will be two. Go kill both of them and collect your one heart. Your done for now. Leave the zone and come back later. Keep this up until you have 4 hearts. It will probably take you several days to a week to find them, but very little actual time.

Some very important tips. You will die a lot during this quest. Brownies are instant death. Equestriella is instant death. Be very careful. Plan on dieing and manage your experience loss accordingly.

If you are trying for the warden tunare and plan to camp the necro, I recommend you read the posts on that as well. When you camp the necro, you will see ghasts periodically. It makes sense to camp the necro first and see how many hearts you get. You can get the rest of the hearts using my technique.

ok i got my 4th heart today and got the neckless it took me 2 weeks but i started this quest at lvl 10 passing though some one had one chasing him half dead so i killed it to help then looted the heart and then i looked on here saw the quest and did it died about 20 time 7 by browies and 13 by the black death horse well any way at lvl 14 it is harder then giving birth to a baby it was hard but i any now the only lvl 14 i know whit this necklees and i killed the necro for the next part of quest but then sever when down never go to loot him but i will try agin but just letting people know it is posable i have found ghast all over lesser fay allmost allways next to browies so look befor you leap out of camo and the black death horse can see though camo so look out :)

A little help for those of you who are having problems with this quest.
Do not try until 24 unless you want to die a lot. A druid gets wolf form at 24, so it shouldn't be really dangerous for druids. Clerics on the other hand, will have a much more difficult time getting the hearts. My suggest is bind yourself right next to lfay zone on gfay side. Mem all of your buffs including symbol spell. Cast everything on yourself. Brownies are druids and druids have quite a spell list of different resist types. Sit and med while memming other spells: Greater Heal, Expulse Undead, Smite, Sense the Dead and Gate. The other 3 spells don't matter, but I usually use root, divine aura and wave of fear. When you are full mana, zone into lfay and cast sense the dead. Head towards the undead and immediately nuke 2x and it should be dead. Don't take your time. If you see a scout or message that one is around, gate out. Do NOT stay to finish an undead. I have seen them heal the mummies. (Go figure, a druid that likes undead more than a cleric). This makes it immpossible to kill the undead before you die. After gating, heal yourself especially if you have any effects listed other than your buffs. DoT's are fatal. Med and repeat.
I (25th level cleric) have been doing this for a few days. Killed a dozen ghasts, have 2 hearts, gated from 6 brownie encounters. Didn't die once. The lowest they got me was 2 bubbles of health left and that was only because I didn't notice the DoT that was sapping me until it wore off. Of course, this method requires that you be at least level 24, have bloodstones on you for hp buff, and are maxed out for your level on all forms of magic needed. (5 x level + 5). I have only been interrupted once while casting gate and managed to get away with the second try. It seems the brownies are much more interested in casting at you than melee, although it's not always the case. Therefore, gating is the safest way out.

will anyone help me with this quest because i suck at these quests and any one lvls 12-17 will you send a tell to Kendafi on the E'CI server if you can because woo this quest i need some help.........

OK im back and i got my symbol...things i suggest...first off if u have a druid friend..do it with them. things are soo much faster if u have SoW on. and then share the hearts. i havent figured out how to do the next quest..but rest assured...ill update those that want to know.

This quest took me about a day and a half to complete. I went into LFay on a Friday morning, so the zone was pretty empty. I immediately picked up two rancorous ghasts on track and killed them, and got two hearts. Lucky I know! About 3 or 4 hours later, I picked up another pair of ghasts on track, killed them both and got one more heart. I stayed in LFay for about 4 more hours or so, and never saw another one spawn. Got up again early Saturday and picked up another 2 ghasts and got the fourth heart.

To pass the time in between spawns, I hunted Thistle Underbrush, he's a fairly regular spawn. He sometimes drops the Braided Ivy Cords, which are a great piece of DRU armor and can also be sold for about 200pp.

Also, I don't think that Equestrielle the Corrupted is a place holder for the ghasts. I saw one up at the same time she was.

This is an easy quest for druids, it just takes a little patience. The brownies don't aggro wolf form, so you're pretty safe in LFay as long as you can avoid Equestrielle and stay out of the Tier'Dal camps and such.

By the way, I had good luck tracking the ghasts near the GFay entrance. I just followed the path a little bit to the south and west. I picked up the ghasts every time from that same area.

I honestly think the worst thing about this crazy quest is not the drop rate on the ghasts, or the spawn rate on the ghasts, or even the silly brownies. Worst thing I personally ran into was (%*^#&#( Equestrielle the Corrupted, the level 40ish SK unicorn who attacks anything (PC) that moves. In order to even *begin* hunting ghasts, I had to die twice, lose level 30, almost die again, and finally get a couple of friendly upper level guildmembers to kill her just so I could walk around the forest without jumping everytime something moved, thinking it was Death-Mare come to slay me again. And I was a level 30 druid.. What's going to happen to that level 8 happy Tunare cleric wandering into LFay? Somebody needs to get the message to the Mother that she needs to kick some serious Cazic-thule booty and cleanse her forests of the corruption.

Oh, and the necro's name is Larik Z'Vole. I got *him* to spawn by accident, never mind that I still haven't finished the *first* part yet. =)

does this necro have a name? or the courier?
im unsure on what i'm killing.. what is the obelisk exactly? and this is all near the MM zone right?
can someone tell me where exactly i'll find the necro and the courier so i am sure on what i have to kill?

Okay, I took a stab at Lfay ghast hunting after lv 20 but before lv 24. I went in camo and solo and tracked a ghast, attacked it and had it half dead when I suddenly saw "A brownie casts a spell." 2 spells later I was dead and completely lost. I am bound in loio and ported myself back to bb zone and saw a message "Corpse finding for payment." So I said please help me find my corpse in LFay and I will pay 5pp once I get my corpse back. No problem. We went into LFay, me as a camod low lv druid and companion a naked lv 5 bard singing her song to find corpses. She leads me straight to my corpse and I am thinking I should drag it to zone. She says loot it, so I loot an earring and see "A brownie casts a spell." I died again and now have two corpses to find. The bard dragged one of my corpses to "a safe place" and then she had to log. Meanwhile I was once again returning from loio and thinking how am I ever going to find my bodies now?!?

I pleaded in shout once I zoned in and someone helped bring me my two corpses at zone. I heard that if you're a wolf, then nothing aggroes you, so I leveled up to 24 and boldly self wolfed myself and went ghast hunting again. A bunch of people were in zone and were killing the annoying brownies and I managed to get help tracking one ghast that was without loot and I tracked another one that dropped the heart. Then I had to log.

Proud of my success, I tried again as soon as it was Everquest night. I didn't track any ghasts so I killed skeles hoping one would pop but I didn't see anything. Then I see something like "Princess Equestrial hits you for 93 pts of damage." What the heck? I'm a wolf! Nonetheless, I died and oops there goes my lv 24! Welcome to lv 23 again! :( No more self wolf or skin like steel or.... sigh, got my corpse in camo and gated back to loio to re-ding 24 and have stayed away from LFay since.
