Took him down today after camping for him off and on for about 10 hours. He finally popped on the back platform inside the little fort on top of the plateau. Dropped Sun Leggings.. was kinda bummed but I can always kill him again. Fairly easy kill as he is only slightly tougher than the rest of the named Sun dudes. Happy hunting :)
48 paladin and 54 necro took him down today - selfbuffed, no KEIs or temperances.
He spawned in the middle of the reaver camp, standing on the "stage". Biggest point to success was to pull with insidious retrogression (disease based snare) that went in where darkness did not. Then scent of terris for debuff, shackle of spirit (undead slow), fear (dread of night). Fear wore of fast, though. The initial damage of insidious (554 hp), was excatly 10% of his life, so I'm guessing close to 5550hp to be smacked away. The shackle went in very nice, and abled the paladin to tank while resnaring. The paladin's undead nukes went in 2/3 times (full power, nuking away when necro aggro kited), the IoN proc was resisted twice. He does not cast anything, and does not summon. He procs the upgraded version of the curse (60hp initial damage, and more to go as it eats you up) very often.
Of all the things described here, he dropped an unmentioned SUN CHALICE and nothing else! Yet another one rotting... Will mark him dead for the record though :)
Like all the "Named" Sun Revenants, this one is also a rare spawn up on the plateau. I've yet to see him personally. Your best bet is to just butcher Sun Revenants from sunrise to...well, sunrise, since the sun doesn't move on Luclin :)
He's a substantial undercon. He hits hard and fast, and has an upgraded curse from the other sun revenants. Oh, and his magic resistance is pretty strong too.
I've seen him spawn a couple of times in the desert, far away from anything else, so it's safe to say that he can spawn in random spots. Be ready for him if you see him.
It is +2 int 20 HP 20 Mana Save v/s Fire and Cold 5. I have camped him for a level and a half. I have only seen him once and he dropped this sholder item. I have had more problems with the reavers resisting spells than I did killing this guy. He was fairly simple with a 53 Necro.

Geez and u wonder why druids are the most hated chars in EQ. I have been on the plateau several times watching druids steal my kills. IMHO take everything away from druids except the ability to port!
Watching Druids steal your kills? How can they be yours, if you are standing there watching them and the Druid already has them engaged? You snooze, you lose.
People who usually ***** about Druids are the ones that have never played a Druid. You'll happily ask for a port, SoW, buff though.

"Yes we Druids can quad stuff, as long as the zone is outdoors...and not to crowded...and we can land snare...and people would stop asking us for ports...and we don't get adds...and people don't run in and break our quad up...yada...yada...yada..."
Your thinking of the named shroom in Echo, me and my druid kiting partner dropped that guy pretty fast thou, i dont remember if we had a tank or not. Anyways he drops a heal curse type spell that my druid friend needed. As far as i know, none of the mobs in here summon.

Knight of the Sun Lord, might of been Dread Knight of the Sun hehe don't remember, was blue to me, spawned on an inside corner of castle. Just as MR as the other sun mobs, i'd estimate about 6khp...i am a 58 druid, so those of you who root/dot know that we can estimate hp cause we rule! jk, anyway just letting you know
dropped = Gem of Condensed Flame - looks like a ruby, STACKABLE, but also LORE (go figure) and is NO DROP
He dropped Sun Legs and Sunlord's Leggings. The Sun legs are common and I have seen them drop of regular revenant's. The Sunlord's Leggings are: AC 13 +5 INT +5 WIS and +10 Mana Wt. 2.0
I got this helm also. never seen one for sale on our server (7th hammer) before or after getting it. Great helm, I gave it to my DE warrior, and she loves it (makes her feel a little crazy). I soloed him at about lvl 47 or 48 with kei (i'm a druid). it was a tough fight. He didn't want to stay rooted. so just kept moving and kept him dotted, eventually i gave up trying to root him. Noticed him on track while hunting rock hoppers. No one was around when I went to check it out. He was near a wall, I harmonied and snared him, when he finally went down, he dropped the helm of insanity and the warped mace. He was my hardest solo kill to date, I was very pleased with the drops. Fight lasted long enough for my snare to wear off, that was a little hairy there for a min. :)
