Shiverbacks are "Animal", not "Monster" as is reported here.
They can be charmed using Command of Tunare and make great clearing pets (as long as you don't walk up on the dispellers =P).

Well with a raid force big enough to take on just about any spawn as soon as it spawned (nothing named showed up while we were there) we had 3 shiverback pieces drop in 6 hours of raiding. Note that the phoboplasms can drop gear for anybody, we had a piece of shiverback drop off of one of them too.

All u have to do is look at the armor where it says very rare drop and that should tell you have you asked. On a rare item in 20 pulls you might get 1 piece to drop, so on a very rare you might get 1 in 40 or 50. I don't claim to know it all about drops, but from experience I would say these are the averages.

do you think there are easily attainable gear for lvl 46 monk mains?
I am 44 and wearing CCS, assorted cresent, serp bracers, and wu's pants.

My advice is to get yourself some Gator Scale leggings. Easy to attain, and look cool. I still have my serp bracers so those are fine. I also have camped the Frenzy room in LGuk so get yourself a FBSS.

Okay, I'm a poor **** monk. This stuff ain't all that bad... for poor **** monks. I wouldn't mind wearing full shiverback (minus legs... legs are terrible), because I'm a poor **** monk. All monk mains will be poor... this stuff will DEFINATELY be good for me until I am no longer a poor **** monk

So, let me get this straight...
You and a 45 cleric were duoing in the Plane of Fear when a kindly shaman ran by and Sowed you.
First of all, no one lower than level 46 can get to the Planes, period. In fact, if you go when you're 46 and die and lose your level, you can't even be rezzed back in if the rez doesn't give you back enough exp to regain your level. You can kiss your gear goodbye.
Second, I've seen entire guilds of 50 to 55's wipe multiple times trying to break into the Plane of Fear. The zone-in is in a "hot" area with wanderers running thru it all the time. A common tactic is to have two or three FD classes zone in first and report to the guild when it is safe to zoen in and move to the safe area. But even this isn't guaranteed as the aggro radius up there is insanely large.
Third, the zone-out of the Plane of Fear is in one of the most heavily guarded areas of the entire plane. I'm curious how your cleric friend, who clearly couldn't be there at all, got rezzed, and then how you managed to get out afterwards.
Personally, I think you're lying through your teeth, anonymous. /shrug

Ok, we know that it drops MONK armour, and you think that it is funny becuase it is a MONKEY that drops it...but we've had enough posts saying that. Please don't say any more about Monkeys dropping Monk armour.
