BTW these guys are animals. I was using my Shaman's Sense Animal spell in the south end of the Paludal Cavern. The grimy Owl Bears were the only thing detected. There were people killing the fih too.

These things con yellow and red still to my level 15 beastlord, I think the range is more like 16 to 19

the grimy owlbear cub in paludal caverns is placeholder for the minnowgulper, a level 19-20 named owlbear.

Looks like a chanter pet to me... and since it's dual weilding, probably a 29+ chanter... so that was probably one very dead little owlbear. :)

You forgot:
a grimy owlbear cub tears into you with razor sharp claws.

Hmm, I am soloing them at lvl 20+ the still give exp at lvl 23 so :) though I no longer hunt this zone
