A friend and I were killing mobs in this zone and they conned indifferent to me. We decided to kill just 1 to see if there was a faction hit. After 1 kill they now con apprehensive. Anyone know if there are any mobs to kill to raise their faction? I noticed that the thought leeches had some of the ShikNars enslaved, but killing the leeched didn't help the ShikNar faction (whatever it was called).

You have the nerve to say we need to get a life and yet you wander around message boards designed for a subject you obviously care nothing for just to post flames to people who actually enjoy it? Calling people nerds sorta died out around the time the average moron started getting computers for Xmas and IMing Age/Sex checks in AOL chatrooms.
Go somewhere where your opinion is actually wanted, and leave us the hell alone...
Or at least have the balls to post in name so we can flame you...Anonboy

The thought of traveling to other planets clashes with the fantasy theme. Try to imagine Bilbo Baggins traveling to the moon intead of Lonely Mountain with a pack of dwarves and a wizard, sounds a little out of whack to me.

Did anyone notice Gimli's 2 handed axe in the movie(s)? Now Compare that axe to the windblade. That is the most blatant theft of Lord of the Rings that I've noticed.
Well um, that sorta works except...Riverdell was the place where the High Elves lived in LOTRs, in EQ it's halflings, which are never refered to even once as Hobbits in EQ, though once in awhile they are called halflings in LOTR. Yes there are some very basic comparisons in a sense but those links exist in almost everyone form of fantasy in existance now. Sure many novels have drifted quite far from the standard achetypical fantasy, but basicly all of them owe the more basic ideas to LOTR. This is becuase the books (not the movie) were written during the 20s, 30s, and 40s, and are the basis of all modern fantasy works. The landscapes and demenour of the races in EQ is similiar, in many ways, but most of that is actually due to connections with AD&D, which in turn is heavily influenced by LOTRs, etc, etc...

Thought I'd mention: There's a human innkeep in EC (or WC, it's been a while) by the name of (Sernea?) Hobbitfriend. I wonder if she gives discounts to halflings?
Yeah. I agree entirely. You don't have to buy the Luclin expansion if you don't want to, and the addition of the moon to the fantasy game does add a sci-fi element, but it is grounded fully in the fantasy context.
It is still all about magic and myth... the way you get to the moon for example... not exactly a spaceship.
Look at it from the background point of view. If the combine empire was so well magicaly addvanced then yes it could of been possible for them to travel great distances. Hell the Ogres , Trolls and Giants in EQ history even made it to the realm of Earth before the other gods kicked Rallos Zek back into touch. In the realm of fantasy the only limitaion is your imagination.
