The usual garbage luck for me. Killed over 22 a heretic invader and no Jelquar. I had a druid tracking the whole time. As per the usual no one else was in the zone killing anything most of my time spent in the zone. I saw a level 25 shadowknight in the zone a few times but that was it. Started picking up the heads after nearly a dozen rotted. Thought to myself. Why not get my druid something out of it.Got 2 Kejekan Tribal Headband and 1 Swiftclaw Cash with 12 heads. EDIT: Collected 24 more heads. Still no Jelquar. I was done trying to camp for him. Just logged in to kill placeholders and then check a day or 2 later and kill more placeholders. Finally after doing that for nearly 2 weeks, he was already spawned when i logged in to check. Of course only one a heretic invader was on track at the time since the 2 of them are placeholders for Jelquar.

If you see him by chance kill him, otherwise don't waste your time. I've had a personal vendetta against him for almost a year. I've killed him at least 50 times. Has NEVER dropped the spirit reaver. As for the swiftclaw sash, I've gotten it twice but it doesn't matter if his is one of the heads, TRUST ME. Also, I've had 2 of him on track at the same time and killed both of them, so there can be 2 up at the same time. I think a possible spawn point for him is -1879, 2064, 232. But don't try camping him, you will just be disapointed. And definitely don't do it if you can't track.
I did a quick 20min login into my server (AB) to check on my rare spawns, the van shir skellies in FM (still need 6 heads) and stone brunt. I take a run while tracking (DRU 45) and I see no heretics (damm I am never going to get the haste shash -got 3 normal ones thus far). All the tracklist is green as salad, a few blue pandas... and, hello? Who is this DB dude... so I log in here, may be it is a titan, check it.. all right!!
Time for kill.
Charm a gorilla and use it as kamize, he gets the blunt of the SK spell, while I snare, root and DoT. Sit at safe distance... a few ticks later: Dead, got head and got spirit reaver. My SK will be happy.
He was on the east side of the zone, near the corner of the road that leaves the Kejek city and the river. On the side of a hill, just standing there. He then started walking SW towards the forest. That is were he was jumped by my charming gorilla ;-)
I've killed him 5 or 6 times, in my younger days I used this exact same tactic, it works quite well. I've always found him in the southern part of the zone, from as far east as the stream and west nearly to the zone edge. Only got the Spirit Reaver once (sighs), the head works for the Swiftclaw Sash quest.
It's not much, but he dropped a fine steel wakazashi that first time we killed him.. and a head. The reaver was the second or third time we killed him. 32mage 32wizard. HT hurt but was survivable. He has low AC like most casters.
you think i can kill this guy. I'm a level 41 WE druid maybe i can charma a panda and kill him, but do you think i can kill him by myself? 209 wis 1600 hp. If not someone wanna help me kill him for profit? Email me at Chen01720@aol.com
Sure you can.... I am a lvl 35 Druid with 193 WIS. and 777 hp unbuffed... I have taken him several times... I never use much more than 30% of my mana either.. Just root him from max distance, lay on the dots, and hit him with one dd, I like Fury of Air... then sit back and watch him drop. He is weak for a SK. I wouldn't try to go toe to toe with him, but then, I'm a druid, we just don't have to.... Good Luck.
Just to add my two cents from what i have gathered. I usually sit in between the two trees just south of the cat city at the base of the mountain. From there i have found there is 2 heretic cycles that spawn approximately every 58 minutes of REAL TIME. I wanted to confirm this time so i killed one and pulled the other to a safe spot and kept him rooted for about 15 minutes to get teh spawns about a half an hour apart. Sure enough they spawn'd every 58 minutes.
As for this guy in particular i have seen him once and he spawned in place of one of the heretics on the normal cycle. I do admit he spawned a bit further south than the rest of the heretics, but the cycled continued as i had it set after i killed him.
If you are looking for this guy, you don't really have to worry about tracking and killing all the heretics. The heretics have a very very short lifespan. 10 minutes max. They are KoS to everyhting in the zone and it doesn;t take long fo tem to wander into a tiger that will dispatch them fairly quickly. Now Jelquar is another matter. He is level 34 so he is much better at handling the tigers. Unless he gets an add he can stay alive for a while. He is on the two heretic spawn tables so the heretics keep dying eventually he spawns. If you catch him when he first spawns you are better off waiting for him to encounter a tiger and use up his harm touch. 341 points of damage at the beginning of the fight really hurts otherwise.
Stonebrunt has become my second home. If you kill Heretic Invaders, "He will come". *smiles* Just so the titans. Kill thier counterparts en-masse and they will spawn. The tuffest is the Emerald Adders, since they are so spred out, to get Slyder to pop. The rest are easier. So if you want Jelquar, track Invaders. He don't like it when you kill 8 or 10 of his compatriots. Good hunting. -Adanus
I've been in Stonebrunt for about a month now, and I've seen Jelquar three different times. When I killed him today he dropped a Spirit Reaver which is a pretty rare drop off him. The times that he spawned, he spawned in a different spot each time (I assume, unless he just migrated really far). Once south of kitty town, and once southeast near the river. I've turned in his head for the heretic head quest three times, and have never gotten a Swiftclaw Sash, so I don't think it matters what type of head you turn in.
I got this guy up on track just south of the cat city.. by the time i got there he was almost dead from 2 Tigres (blue to me at 44). I proceded to charm one and snare the other but it was too late.. the snared one was still too close and finished him off.. The Kewl thing is Not even 5 minutes after he died a Heretic Invader poped in almost the exact same spot...
As the text in the description above accurately said, Jelquar can spawn in place of the other Heretic Invaders. Heretic Invaders basically spawn only once (rarely twice) per EQ day around dawn, and Jelquar very rarely spawns in place of them. Plus, the Sprit Reaver is an uncommon drop off him.
In other words, don't even bother trying to camp him, unless you are either a glutton for punishment or extremely stupid.
I've hunted in SB for several levels and helped powerlevel people there too.
I've only seen this guy once.
That said, the other heretics spawn much more than once or twice a day. I've done the quest 4 times (only headbands so far...grrrr) and 2 of those were in the same day.
You just have to be patient and wait for the invaders to spawn.
where does he, or the heretic invader that is his PH, spawn at? is it a set site or random? or is it like the titans where some spots are liklier but anything is possible.
I have been doing this as a lvl 50 druid, trying for the Sk sword for my SK. So, some tips... Treat this camp as you would any long random camp (see Iksar Beserker Club) I pop in look around, kill a few things - no spawn I log on a different character. Otherwise this will make you nuts - I have killed Jelquar three times now each time he has been solo (no pet) and starts the party with a 340 Harm touch. He follows that up with a direct attack hitting in the 3-40 range. Once rooted he casts fear. I have had the best success doing all the other quests - I have done the swiftclaw sash, and the frozen skies blade. These other quests have given me something else to do while I wait. I still need information on the robe. BUT can tell you that I have gotten a Swiftclaw sash EVERY time I turn in my group of heads with Jelquars head as one of them. Hope this helps....
Im lvl 40 Ranger. They guy was really no big deal. First time I meet him, he almost kicked my *** with his harmtouch and I keept trying to root-snare and anything .... When I heal up I tracked him down. Dooted, Rooted, snared him and just gave him the Swamp. When he was almost dead I jumped him and he dident put up much of a fight. I got him and had only lost one red bub and but most of my mana. Good deal for a head and a cool weapon.
This guy popped even to me at 36 and kicked my butt. Showed up as a 34 when I came back for a bit at 44 and took him down in a tough fight - took the HT, snared + rooted him, finished off that annoying pet, healed and plucked him with arrows from out of spell range until root broke.
