saw him at /way 884, -2720, 558
So, this guy was, by far, the hardest Titan to spawn. I easily spent over 50 hours in different spots with a box AFK killing everything (targetting with F8 then hitting pet attack constantly). I looked at the Magelo spawn points and had him placed in multiple of the most promising looking ones. I tried out the spot listed on P99 as well. All with no luck.
Then, I came back to ZAM and studied the picture of him with the two boulders and the mountain peak. I ran around until I found that area (approximately 2966, 1624, 995) and I camped there with my pet, facing south. Within two hours of camping here, Slyder the Ancient popped. Now, maybe this is just coincidence and the joy of RNG, but I would suggest trying that spot first.

I noticed 2 emerald adders spawned near there, so I did this. Granted I had been killing in zone for a long time...but...within an hour of killing in this area I found him at 2308, 1092, 857.

I found this mob today 7/11/2018 at location -1900, 200
took me about 3 days of killing with my druid. I killed everything because it looks random if a mob is going to spawn as a snake or panda or whatever. Meaning kill everything. Even when killing everything this mob will take way too long to spawn. I literally spawned every name about 6 times before I saw this guy once.

Finally found this snake up after a patch. It didn't drop what I wanted, of course.
Killing it makes Kejek Village and Peace Keepers factions go down.

Does anyone have an idea about how to make this creature spawn? I've been slaughtering stuff all over the zone, and have had no luck. I've seen both Snowbeast and Old Ghostback up, and I think it was because I had been killing tigers and gorillas in the northern half of the zone. I thought perhaps that "an emerald adder" might be phs for him, but after I killed the only one up in the zone, no more respawned. I've also been targeting anything with an unusual name in the hopes that they might be phs as well, but this darn snake just doesn't seem to want to come out and play.
I would appreciate any information or experience anyone has.

I tried to find this snake again after the recent patch, and it still wasn't up. All four of the other named animal titans were up, but not Slyder the Ancient. I spent another four or five hours killing random mobs, mostly in the central and southern portions of the zone this time, and still no pop. This snake is either bugged, or retardedly rare. I really have to hand it to the designers of this game, nothing is quite as fun as killing grey mobs for hours only to be disappointed yet again while attempting to do an old quest just for the lore of it.

Slyder the Ancient conned even to a level 38 toon today.

Killed him today with my 36 Ranger. He was close to the river, just west of it on some rocky outcroppings, about halfway through the zone from north to south. I was buffed only with my own level 36 buffs, no Temp, or anything like that.

Finally went toe to toe with him to finish him off at one red bubble left.
His poison was Real nasty, it took 2 castings each time I got poisoned to get rid of it.
He dropped Ancient Snake Rattle nothing else.

Saw him for the very first time today.
Was taking a rest at neg 2500, pos 400.
But, he's a roamer.

im geared ..um well took him down with my mage,water pet(had to resumon 2 more he was hitting me 70ish doubles but it took a bit of rvs kiteing:)

around the time when stonebrunt came out me and two other friends were leveling there (29Druid 29Enchanter Me>35monk) we saw Snowbeast the big snow white Sabertooth tiger walking along the river i told Druid and Enchanter we should try him so we did i ended up running him almost every where in zone (but jungle area) we ended up killing him kinda by Warrens zone where the mobs are not that high of level all the adds we had were being mezzed and memblured by Enchanter and Druid was healing me and i had a fungi at the time so i was just running in huge circles why the druid healed me and i regen my health back we killed him! took about 45ish minutes WAS AWESOME! and then after we killed him they medded up and Giang Yin was up! so i asked group if they wanted to try him lol that was a bad idea i pulled big panda he was hitting me for 125ish so i was Zone zone! Druid healed me.... Panda rooted me and went after druid and ended up killing her and wussy Enchanter Gated!

While running around with my 56 Vah Shir bst I came upon this fella sunbathing. I killed him quickly but to my surprise there was a faction hit. Kejan went worse and so did good erudin faction. The cat people who were indifferent to me before now was apprehensive.
He popped right at the Kobald camp near the river while I was clearing it. Easy kill with a level 55 Beastlord. I was indifferent to him so I finished off he kobalds first as he patiently sat there waiting. He dropped the ancient snake skin and the rattle. I turned in the snake skin and a platinum thread (250pp in Thurg) to the guy in the Wizzy guild in Erudin for the robe.
Killing him gives no faction hits, and the Kejek wont aggro on you if you attack him when they are around (Had a Kejek run right past while I kiled him)

Snake conned light blue and did not like me at all faction wise. Anyway the faction hits I took after killing the snake..... Kejek Village and Peace Keepers both got worse !

So when i saw this giant snake he was just a human the size of a sand giant. I was thinking on killing it but i could have probably killed it being 39 druid, he conned blue but i didn't know if there were any faction hits. I really want the piercer and i wish i had killed him but that place is never populated so i think camping him should be rather easy...:)

Ok ...two weeks and I finally got Sldyder the Ancient.I seen him 3 times in that duration.He Dotted and killed me on my first attempt,a wizzy beat me to him on the second and I got him on the 3rd and he dropped the two items I was looking for.An ancient snake fang dam 11,del 30 procs weak poison.the second item was the venemous ancient snake sac,Rogue only,charges 1.I used these two items along with a venemous spikefish sac and the blood of a necromancer,handed these four items into Collier in Erudin.My reward for this was "Thick Caustic Fluid"..and isent no-drop and not to be mistaken for Thick caustic fluid that drops in Mistmoore(no drop)Collier reply`s "There is the weapon treatment I promised you.Use it in a forge with any standard forged weapon.Choose your preffered weapon carefully as there is only enough of the substance for a single treatment.
That is as far as I have gotten with the quest and am looking into the remainder of the quest before I go and use a forge.Any ideas would be appreciated and I hope this helps to clear up any questions concerning the ancient snake fang and the venemous ancient snake sac.

I've been hunting the Titans for a while now. This much I can confirm:
Giang Yin, Old Ghostback, and Snowbeast all spawn in a rock-crater area at loc pos2700 neg300.
Since their speed can't be altered by movement spells, kiting them is nearly impossible and will almost always result in additional mobs joining in. Panic Animal seems to work on them no problem. So a combination on DoTs & Panic should help take them down a little bit easier.
Me being a 54 Mage, I can solo these with ease. I just chain cast the lvl 51 earth pet and rarely get an add.
I am still in search of the spawn location of Slyder and Ancient and Prowler of the Jungle. Please could someone post the spawn locations of these 2 mobs. I don't have track and it's a big-*** zone lol. Thanks.

Ok, I have never played a mage. I assume the earth pet does more damage and maybe takes more hits?.... but since the mob can not be snared or rooted and you said you have to "chain cast" him... I am assuming he dies sometimes. You may as well use another pet that the prock or DS will do good. Like maybe fire? Or something? All I am saying is the root effect of the earth pet will not do any good.... may as well use another?

No the earht pet is one of the best for these guy for they can take the most hits and we give them a fine DS (25 at lvl 49) and whith healing they should be fine

all those things are for the titan sample quest. kill all the titans, get the parts of them, give em to a guy in erudin (NOT the guy in paineel) also you dont need to give in the stat-giving parts of the mobs, keep them as a bonus

Could a pretty decently equipped lvl 45 Necro with pet solo this guy?
Also, do these things spawn in a certain place? And when they do spawn, do they stay in a certain area or do they wander the entire zone? I've heard they are pretty rare spawns.

As a 45 Necro, you should be able to solo this guy or any of the titans. Run him to an area where the traffic is low and fear kite him. Titans cannot be snared or the like, so they will run fairly quickly. Slyder seems to spawn in the wooded area but he is likely to travel anywhere in the zone. All the titans will move around alot. Good hunting

Posted: Jun 16 2002 at 11:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) no way a 45 necro could take yin, he just hits too hard and too fast for a pet to last more then a few seconds. way too much hp for doting to death, the adds are deadly. should be able to take prowler and snowbeast with your eyes closed though. ghostback is a maybe he can be a few lvls when he pops, id say it depends on what lvl he is whne he pops to detirmin if a 45 necro could take him

Hate to burst your bubble man but none of the titans can be either snared or rooted.Im not saying there magic resistant just CANT be snared or rooted.And for some reason on 7th hammer piercing wepons go for mad cheap i was give the fang for helping a high lvl necro find giang i had to practically give it away for 300pp
