Was he visibly holding the shield when he dropped it?
On TLP's, the Shield of the Immaculate is dropped by this mob. Something should be added to the loot table indicating it.
Once LDoN hits, he doesn't drop it anymore, the item moves to an eerie chest.

If you are trying to find the SEoC, this mob is the easiest to spawn. We spent a while trying to get other things to spawn and then I ran across this bestiary and wham, ban thank you maam hes was up after first PH kill, and dropped the SeoC the first time!

this guy is not the easiest to spawn...ben thorugh 13 PH's so far and not one Lord of Ire..what u whent through is called luck..

Lucky break went to get my epic peice with small raid 8 peeps loast 3 to RL found this guy and one of his cronies couldn't mez so took em both on with a 65 wiz, 46 nec, 55 druid,51 cleric and me 56 ranga excellent group brought me back from the brink lord dropped the Emerald cronie dropped the staff of elemental earth and we ran for the hills I was amazed and impressed group was great and was only my second trip first time was with adiff ranger and we saw noone. Fairy tails doo come tru.

dropped SEoC 30 minutes into going in zone.
Was just me (warrior) helping out a chanter to get her epic piece. Chanter solo'd it.
No chanter epic piece after maybe 60 hours now, but found out the seoc was much rarer. Glad it can be MQ'd

Does this dude summon?
Well today when into POHate to solo and saw him up snared him and then rooted him. Shot him to death was a easy kill. Drop dumb sword....

Killed him a few times and all we have gotten is the claymore. It seems to be his common drop, with every else being rare and random.
I found his PH on Dec 22 2003. He spawned for me and dropped that Pallie sword and a Shattered Emerald of Corruption. From Zone in go over that little bridge thing and turn left. Then go straight and open the First door to your left. Behind that door should be a mob, inside and to the left you will see that there is another room with 2 mobs in it, one on the North and one on the South wall of the 2nd room.
The mob on the South wall of that 2nd room is the PH for the Lord of Ire, as far as I know it will Always be a Ire Ghast (I *could* be wrong but I have never seen it be anything else).

Wonderful directions. He was exactly where you said he'd be.
We killed him easily about an hour ago with a group and a half. Me bring the highest as a 62 warrior. Everyone else was mid-low 50's.

He dropped my SEoC tonight about 1 hr ago. He also dropped that Theologian Claymore. He spawned 2 times in a role and dropped emerald second time. Hope this helps anyone.

can anyone tell me how to get him to spawn? does he have a PH or just random killing?
He has a place holder, i do believe its one of the ghouls. He spawns in a building just to the left of the stairs that lead to the Magi Ptasa building. He dropped my SEoC first time around and that funky Theologian sword. The sword rotted and the stone went RIGHT in my bag! I was so thrilled! We killed Magi Ptasa like five times and he NEVER dropped the stone. I just love when I camp one mob from someones misinformation and never see the loot I was looking for.

He dropped Theologian Claymore 2 times for us now.

We killed him last night - he procs Impotent Rage, which is a DoT+Snare, and dropped the Shattered Emerald of Corruption for one very happy Ranger.

Dropped the Bloodmoon last night. We took him down with no trouble at all. Got it cause the other SK had a Darkmetal Falchion already.
