Small Piece of VeliumCareful! Calls for help! Went exploring with 63 bst. Took it down to 45% easy. It was the 15 Icey Watchers, Sentinels and Gargoyles that took me out. No other mobs in sight when I pulled it.

Yep, killed him today, did not call for any help, although he does ENRAGE and hurts.
I realize this post is 2 years old, but this mob didn't call for help just now when I killed it. Was moloing (merc soloing) in and around Velk's castle with my 64 Monk + merc and ran into this guy who was spawned right outside Velk's room. He DID enrage somewhere around 15-20% and took me down to about 50%, but did not call for any help. Mob himself was not hard at all till enrage where he took my down quite a bit, but was nothing cleric merc couldn't handle. No Velk :[

I've helped kill dozens of these destroyers and have yet to see any drop armor. They do, however, summon, melee for upwards of 300's, and Enrage around 15-20% HP.
This guy is not a boss mob.
He is a normal spawn.
Any spot which spawns him can also spawn:
Crystal Sentinels
Crystalline Sentinels
Crystal Gargoyles
Icy Guardians
Hp estimated around 20k
Max hit on a lv 60 Ranger with NMitigation 1
310.
Avg hit on a lv 60 Ranger with Nmitigation 1
180-210 range.
This mob will Enrage when low on health
Drops:
Assorted garbage spells
BP gems (flawless diamonds seem most common) other merchant garbage.
These guys are EXCELLENT exp, about 3/4ths of a blue AA per kill, and not very tough at that.
One of my favorite exp camps
Required:
57+ Enchanter or better
59-60 "Class with taunt" (They dont hit hard enough to make warriors "required", I average 1 CH 1 Divine Light per combatting this mob, 60 War averaged 1 CH and 1 Celestial Heal)
56 Cleric (If you fudge up a pull)
1 Backup healer druid/shm/pal all will do.
2 damage dealers rng/rog/monk
Or you can substitute a bard with his haste song for 1 of the damage dealers.
Then you're ready for the kick *** exp.

Dude theis is two kind a crystal devourer and destroyer.

These have a chance to drop high end gems like Flawless diamonds, etc.

'No item drop' is incorrect, this mob drops rare high end gems and velium. I don't know where you got that info, maybe you were but just didn't get any drops (that would stink). Good thing this guy drops stuff though =)

Think the name on this mob is incorrect. We fough a large level 59 golem in the middle of Velk's castle called Crystal Destroyer...not Devourer...and for a level 59 mob was excessively easy to kill.
