(To the monky who was wondering) My monk was soloing here from lvl 24-27 with no problem at all. Keep in mind to bind wound with bandages and use your Mend accordingly. Also, your level 10 discipline "focus of will" is a helpful little regen to use when you sit, so waste nothing as Master Glox has taught you proper. *nodnod* This is also a great place to begin beginner split tactics (no casting giants), learn your FD bug rules, as well as tinker around with Sneak. Loot here was blarg since I won't really loot unless its a worthy drop. (forest loops or a dot for cleric friends) Anything below a plat is destroyed instantly.
Anyway, my concern is THIS particular giant. He's spawned for me all the times I have hunted him and at aggro it says he covers his pouch or pocket and then tells you that you wont get his lizard. I assume he's got a little captive in there, but at each slaying, there was no drop and nothing hopped out to scurry off.

It turns out that the mob I was chewing flarefire seeds with, an iksar knight, is the fella that jumps out this guy's pocket. (I still didnt see him pop out) Anyway, the iksar knight apparently scurries off to sit near a building near Cabilis zone line. He is a quest mob for Shadow Knights. For further information, search for an iksar knight.

My friend has seen these things drop the forest loop but he says its a rare drop off this type of gient.

Ah the forest giant, the basic forestgiant, in betwen the sappling and the green wood, the funny thing is , he spwans in the bigest building in the giant fort (its in the midle of the fort wich i call the luv shack) any way if u agro him u can always tell by the text he says when u attack him (its sumthin about a lizard) iv camped them for hours and well... no loop in fact just some words thats its

From level 17 - 30 can pretty much hunt here. Preferribly in a grou until level 25. There is good drops. But I don't know what to do with the Ivy Green bands or whatever they are called. But if anyone knows what to do with them, please respond.

The Evergreen Ivy Ringbands are a turn in item for the 5th Iksar Necromancer quest. You take one of these, one Iksar pariah mask, a spectacle given by one of the npc in Iksar necro guild, and a bottle of green death rum and turn it in to a skeleton worker on top of a drydock boat in the Overthere port.

Only the plain Forest Giant has a battle initiation message, its something like, "The giant covers his pouch to keep it from jumping out". "hey scumsuker you wont get my loot!" Does anyone have any idea what hes protecting from jumping out? I've killed tons of these and gotten no loot other than coin? If someone knows please tell me, I'd really appreciate it.

Pick pocket only gives you money off this guy =(.

not really sure what it means, but the room he spawns in...the one in the middle area... sometimes a greenwood spawns there instead. HE says the phrase too but only if he is in this room. so it is a phrase that is about the room, not necesarily the regular forest giant. IMO i doubt that he really has anything. just trying to add some story to the game maybe

You moron. First off .. learn how to spell. Second off Forest Loops are random drops off of giants .. they don't drop any more in FM than they do here.

What he means is the giants in FM have the same chance to drop a forest loop as the ones in WW.....this also goes for any giant in kunark.

Wanted to get on of the forest giant hammers, so I can look like I have dark ember, instead of a glowing wooden crook (thats what herophants staff looks like) so walking invis through the fort exploring, I came to one with the hammer, (was at an opening) he conned blck and had to blues next to him. I charged up to fm and full hp, ready for the adds. Me only being level 20, I was a bit nervous especially since im KOS to iksars, so i cant run and really dont know my way around the zone. I snared the one with the hammer. Amazingly the other didnt aggro. Giant hit hard and got me down to about 50HP I ran oom early so had to tank him. Hard fight but in the end my super druid tanking abilities prevailed and I had become the proud owner of a dark ember look alike! Now I hafta get my gnome enchanter to 20 so he can get himself one...gnome with dark ember...heheh......

The max lvl of the giants is 27, so I dont think
a lvl 17 char can solo here. If you are in a group
its a great place to lvl from around 22 to 30. I did so with most of my chars. Regarding forest loops - all the time I was hunting here there was ONE day i got 2 forest loops. All the other time there was nothing! So i think its a very rare drop - except you have luck :)

I solo'd here with my iksar shaman on the new server, with no transfers (Stromm. I started at level 17. I could kite yellows. I only had 96 wis at the time. You can start here at 17 but its difficult. Don't bother trying unless you have the experience to carry it out, because the battles were close.

its luck of the draw, siomple as that & its NOT going to be off reg or saps hardly ever.
I like fighting giants bu you have good & bad days, got my first loop my first night walked away w/ over 60pp in other stuff & money... the next several days nites weeks, more like 5-10pp a day. aggro? YES! not just giants out ther either.
gods of all kinds even walk into the "safe" areas of the fort & get you, as well as Iksars, exile & knight...can a group of 20s take them... depends on you & your group , yes & no, gonna depend on what you pull & how you pull. can you get exp at 28-29 yes & no depends...I have seen 2 loops both n the same nite... thats it...Have fun for exp but farming? better ways...

I spent 3 days in here soloing and never got ANY loot, i must of killed 100 of these giants. The hard ones were low blue to me (31st ranger) Taking 2 on at once is a snap with a simple SOW/snare/DoT combo.
My main problem is the lack of loot. I guess you can get a forest loop here, but all i ever got was coin, and no drop necklaces. (and other random junk)
If you want loot goto the hill giants in Frontier Moutains. i was in a group for the most part of a day and got 2 loops, and a ton of magic weapons.

I don't know about a monk, but I would assume so since my untwinked level 22 Shaman can solo these when they're high blue (probably level 21), and that's going toe-to-toe with them using DOT's (no Rooting or kiting crap).
