Pretty simply really if you have a decently geared monk ........ just get near the locked doors to librairy hit AE ramp do a bit of damage to everything and start fearing mobs .
Then FD ... stand / FD.... stand / FD youll keep getting summoned by mobs just FD when you get summoned to the room that you want .
Get full mem wipe then train down to hidden trap in the floor .
Get full mem wipe then smoke the King and Queen rooms .
Hello, I'm close to being able to do this fight for my cleric's epic (which I finally decided to start), and I was wondering if it'd be possible to duo this with a 70 cleric, 8k mana unbuffed and my 69 beastlord, about 7.5k hp buffed? I was looking at the posts here and people say that he's easy to kill but no one mentions how much he hits for, could anyone help please?
I havent attempted this guy duo style. But when I have done it with a group, the only problem we ran into was the adds along the way. I dont know if a cleric can paci there, they should be able to. I play a Bl for the most part. As far as firepower... you shouldnt have an issue. When my group went down we had a 65 Chanty with us so I am assuming that he slowed the King, but we also had a bard.. It was about a year ago when I killed him. So realisticly, it could be done if you make it past the adds.
I have come to the conclusion that this guy is not as tough as he seems, me (a level 54 cleric) and a level 70 necro teamed up to defeat him. after being summoned into the room and killing all in the small hallway we faced the king himself, necro used wake the dead and constantly lifetaped, i sent my pet hammer out and did ae spell "earthquake a few times" with the summoning and constant lifetaps he brought him to 40%. I stuned the king hoping to stop him from gateing or using speels, he constantly used ae wiuch did about 400 each time, i hid and superior healed myself and continued the fight, i instilled him while the necro had his pet attack, finally he died, droped spell:frost, Argent protector and of course the much needed singed scroll, i only c healed his pet once, he used lifetap to regain health, basically he was an easy target. P.S if you attempt this method i advise you to not let him pass you, he will try to walk outside and if he does the whole palace will be attacking, we died 2 times because of it.
I did it with a level 39 rogue with 200 skill, but only with TWO mechanized lockpicks equipped: one in primary and one on cursor. It doesn't work with one in either place.
LOl TWO he say's ---> 2 mechanized lockpicks. Hello ... Knock knock Mods do not Stack !!! It did not work with 2 Mechanized lockpicks ... because you need an actual Lock pick on your Cursor as a tool ... not a Mod .

My guild is too small to help me get my epic. I am lvl 65 with 62 AA's and I have played my cleric for many years. However, my guild is family guild and very casual. Would anyone on the Saryn server be willing to help me and my guild out with this mob? I have never even been to Chardok and my guild will not help me at this time. I cannot leave them, they are family. Someone please help me!!!!
I just soloed with my 75 cleric, 3 loots from tacvi/equivalent, rest bazaar/DoN (GM cultural). tossed on tenacity, armor, ward, vow, big HoT and jumped into the hole. Hit DA and DB, mobs killed themselves, then finished off king.
I just got mine today and the mobs around teh overking will assist if not pacified. Most of my small raid was under 65. so it may be lvl related. I know for a fact that mobs in room with overking will assist
Yes, the lower level mobs near the entrance do not assist...
However... once you get to the slightly higher mobs (just down the hall from the entrance) they will assist. I am a 66 mage with maxed out ally faction and they jump right in on me or my pet. The highest level mobs near the King will most certainly assist :-)
OOPS! this message was meant in response to the thread about the King room... probably right below this thread
I know that regular mobs do not assist each other now that i am apprehensive even if im standing on top of them with a mob hitting me (that i attacked); question is, is the King different in that they will assist if you attack him? i havent tried it yet, and was hoping for someone who has attacked him with apprehensive or better faction to let me know before i try it soon. thanks
I'm pretty sure this is not the case, as the way that non-KOS enchanters use to single pull the King to the zone in is by indirect aggro. In other words mesing or rooting one of the mobs next to the King so that he follows but doesn't aggro anything else on the way.
I'm surprised that the regular mobs don't aggro you also. Perhaps that is level related? Are you level 70? If so, then that will not work with a level 65 mob like the king (sadly).
im lvl 67, i tried it on mobs near ent which do happen to be green. i attacked one mob with pet, did pet hold so he didnt kill it, and the mob was hitting on my pet next to me. i sat down on top of one of the green sarnaks while pet was being attacked a foot away and the mob didnt help at all. my rogue is one lvl away from 39 for picking the doors so i will try it on king very soon.
Took him down for Cleric in guild, killed Prince on the way for chanter epic and the queen for warrior epic. Try to gate toghether if raid, the room near queen repops very fast. The King dropped the protector.
Our raid did him tonight twice and the queen once. We read somewhere the spawn timmer was 2hrs. and was buffing up when he poped for the second time. Since we were neturally uber it wasn't more than a supprise and he still died. So future King Killers know as of 8/29/04 his spawn timer is 1:45..
Solo'd him today, pulled him to zonein, and made sure not to get hit. Lifeburned at 30%, lifetapped till death. Pulled him from royals solo, no rogue, noone to open locked door.
complete bs, there is no possible way to get him to the zone in without a giangantic train even if you could get past the two locked doors. was a good read though i laughed.
#Grigner,
Posted:Dec 12 2004 at 2:28 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This guy is lying. There is no way to get through the locked doors without a rogue. Even if there was there's no way to pull the king solo without pacify especially all the way to the zone which is like a mile away. He'd have a giant train.
I know a few ways that would probably work to open a locked door without a rogue.
You can see through the door if you sit right up against it. Use /targ to get a target on the other side.
Any pet class can send a pet through a locked door to attack mobs on the otherside. Don't mobs open doors automaticly when they come through?
Some of the mobs in the hallway beyond the locked doors summon. If you can get one annoyed but not able to come to you, it would summon you in.
Prolly don't need it in this case, since you can cast most spells through a closed, locked door, but the /targ thing works even with a solid wall. Even if you had a solid wall in the way, there's some spells you can use for pulling. For instance, Pacify does not require line-of-sight. Tricky, since it only generates agro when it gets resisted.
As far pulling him to the zone line, it is a pretty standard way to kill the king now. For Chardok, you have to do a lot of faction work first, to get to non-KOS.
I haven't done this with the king, but I've used a non-KoS necromancer to pull extremely high level mobs to a zone line before. I parked the pet next to the target, headed toward the zone and told the pet to attack. Pet dies, mob comes after necromancer. Since you're not KoS to the other mobs, they won't add.
I can personally attest to this. We raided Chardock yesterday with two groups, average level of 65 and did not have a rogue. We first pulled the prince by doing the target through the door and just pulled the whole room and killed it for our chanty. If you do not have enough to pull the entire room, you can paci and single pull mobs out, just have to keep doing it till you get target on prince. We then moved to the locked door. We had a small problem with it as the mobs agro'd directly to our raid and did not hold on the pet. Luckily, We backed raid off and let the tank, a 65 Warrior, sit and beat the mobs back through the door and they eventually summoned him through. We tried to let the mobs beat on our mage with his back to the door and push him through, which did not work. So we had the mage suicide to them, then the tank summoned his corpse through the door by assisting the cleric's target and doing /corpse, and the cleric rezzed him on the other side as rez is not a line of sight spell. He then cothed entire raid through the door. None of the mobs in the king room see invis so we invised past him, set up in the hall up the ramp and pulled just him by having the cleric paci the whole room. We also pulled the queen to the same spot the same way. Was able to get the enchy, cleric and warrior epic pieces. Was rather classic to be part of. Some luck involved, but is a good method

fastest way to get to ally faction is to go out to Lake of Ill Omen and slaughter the goblins there. Loot as many stacks of green goblin skins as you can and turn them in to Herald at the entrance to Chardok. He will not aggro on you. This raises faction quickly
bst and cleric are both non kos so rogue and zerker both suicide at the zone in to the trash mobs, consent and get dragged.
Rogue is rezzed outside the 1st locked door. its safe here so no agro. he opens the door and his job is done.
zerker is dragged to second locked door and bst and clr both drop through the false floor dragging the zerker. set up in the corridor up the ramp above the king room. set up in the middle of the corridor to avoid agro from the previous ones just past the 2nd locked door.
commence with the buffage then set about killing the 5 wanderers that path through the corridor. they usually start adding before one is dead however be careful as a single will run and agro the room behind the 2nd locked door if he gets far enough.
once you are down to two wanderers and have agro on them the kos zerker was rezzed, virtued, hasted and then gtg. the zerker then snared the last mob to avoid him running and agroing another 6.
ok now for the king pull.
there are 8 mobs to be paci'ed in the king room. 3 on either side then 2 right next to the king. it is JUST possible if quick to paci all 8 with the cleric. as soon as the cleric has the last one paci'ed have them run back to the setup corridor while at the same time as the last paci lands the bst pulls the king.
ok after a few times of doing this its fairly simple for the odds of getting him single. if he doesnt cast straight off you get him single. if he does then you have about 4 in 5 chance that paci runs out and you get the entire room.
if you get the entire room i just stood and died nothing to be done about it. had the cleric drag and rez me at the setup point. now you have a decision either do min buffs, para then sd and as little as you can then med or wait for wanderer repops and start from scratch.
if you do min buffs you have time for one more pull and have time to kill the king before wanderers repop.
however if and when you do get the king single ok he blinds but i never got gfluxed in answer to the previous post. hes a complete wuss just beat him down. he is slowable but very resistant with no debuffing, however we didnt find it hard to beat him unslowed. have the zerker snare him but ffs dont root him or he will gate and bring alot of adds.
its easy enough. i reckon to prolly die once or twice before i get him single, but it varies.
kooking my bst has 500+ aa's but is not EP flagged and has just over 7k hp's with virt and focus etc. he can tank king with ease.
King is not a fight i like to do as i am pretty sure im going to die at least once and im not overly fond of dying. However using this method we have gotten scrolls to mq for various friends, guildies and alts. Sure beats the hell out of people ******** their faction fighting down and as alot of people know clearing down to the king is not a sure thing.
If it goes perfect i take 6 faction hits in total for killing the king. more realistic is maybe 10 if a mob runs or king doesnt want to play on his own.
In all the kills ive done hes only dropped that bloody sword and i want the bp for my war. seems i have another king run to do for a friend in the near future anyways so maybe next time.
Anyways i hope this helps

I was just wondering, anyone know if the Overking still casts G-flux? Old conventional wisdom was never fight him on his spawn point, but the last couple successful raids I've been on did just that.
Hate to get G-fluxed into a wipe, and I haven't seen any information about it in the last few posts.
Took him down the other day. Did it with a 65 monk, 65 mage, 65 druid, 63 chanter, 65 rog and myself 65 cleric. Had the mage CoH us to the hall where we killed all the roamers. Then we had the monk pull the king. We got the rest of the room but the chanter took care of that while the monk tanked and mage pet and rog beat on the king. 30 sec later I looted the corpse and had the druid succor us out.
I went down to the Overking the other day with a 65 BST, 65 Druid, 65 Bard all boxed and me 65 cleric. Boxed toons are all nonKoS bard pulled all the kings room single, BST tore them up. 20 minutes later I got my scroll. BST belongs of Arch Overseers though, top guild on BB maybe the game I dunno, think he had like 10k hp buffed.
Group of 6. 65 Ranger (Me as the puller and tank), 54 Rogue, 61 Chanter, 61 Druid, 62 Druid (me botting), 61 Cleric (botted by Chanter). All on kos faction. Fought down in about 2 hours. Pulling was and is a pain without good faction. Got Overking and 4 adds. Chanter got Overking slowed thank goodness. Kept 61 Druid and Cleric on the Chanter trying to control the adds. Rogue assisted me on Overking. My 62 Druid bot switched back and forth between healing Chanter and Cleric to nuking Overking. I only needed one heal while tanking Overking. At about the same time the King dropped so did the Chanter. I attempted to grab agro on all the adds before Cleric dropped but to no avail. Last one standing was me but with 4 on me I didn't last a whole long time. Luckily the Rogue had looted the scroll (which can be multi-quested) before he dropped. A few summons and rezzes later the Cleric had her next epic piece done. Yay.
well i m going to four box this gy ive been to him ten times trying with hlp i alm gave up on my clr epic the 6th try. and i dont have to do the dragon i have the heart in the bank form back when fire was droping two .:)))
65 druid 65 clr 65 chanter 65 warr
im goign to do prince while imm there for my chanter not sure on warr epic yet if i want to do it.
I have been on MANY raids to the royals now, the other night, we did the Prince with 8 ppl...big deal you say? We had no monk, we had no SK, we had no Necro...what we did have, 63 Bard, 62 Rogue, 63 Rogue (SoS), 54 BL, 65 Cler, 65 War, 65 Ranger, 65 Chanter. There are two spots that I have seen guilds with 3 or 4 groups wipe EVERY TIME they go down, there. We made it to prince, rushed the prince, all mobs mezzed, no one died, not even the 54 BL who should have gotten plain and simple low lvl agro.
The best pulling job I have ever seen was done by the bard we had with us...only once did he bring adds, and that was ONE add...going down the stairs, there is/can be HUGE agro if you just run in there...Bard would paci/snare to pull.
IMHO, get a bard to do the pulling, a good one. We didn't have evacer, and just fought way out too...total time fer Prince Raid with this little raid was under 3 hours, that includes fighitng back. You have good peeps who know what to do, and work well together, Royals can be cake, even if your not Elemental or better equipped!
He's actually on a respawn either slightly longer than 2 hours or slightly random. We waited about 130 minutes for him to re-pop. Might not sound like much, but if you're timing the kills of his guards, it makes a difference.
Killed him tonight with a single group and a mage CoHing us down to Queen tunnel, he dropped Argent Protector and a spell dont see listed level 59 cleric spell: Unspoken Word, its a 606 damage AE spell
Did this guy tonight I lived long enough as the MT to see him die only to get killed by adds from behind (Previous room). Cleric did get her epic drop. Did not make it to queen. He can cast a BLIND on you. No one mentions this. Make sure you have a "help im blind" key setup.
