Spawn location for "chelsithreborn.txt" map file (note for all Chelsith named map locs, see this quest entry):

  • P -932.1857, 23.4120, 189.0917, 127, 0, 0, 1, Glorig_the_Underdog

Casts "Tireless Strike" (on tank) every 40 seconds. Glorig becomes enraged if anyone on his hate list has higher health than he does.

Glorig emotes at 80%, 60%, 40% and 20%. He begins by doing lots of damage, but is susceptible to spells.

100%-80%: He is susceptible to spell casting. This is the time for heavy nukes and debuffs.

80%: He emotes: "Glorig The Underdog channels his anger and challenges all to gather around and confront him!".

  • He is immune to casting at this point. His DPS may be light during this phase.

60%: He emotes: "Glorig The Underdog allows you to back away but increases his onslaught."

  • At this point, he is again susceptible to casting.

40%: He emotes the challenge text above (80% emote), and is again immune to casting.

20%: He emotes the "onslaught" text above, and can be nuked to his death.

He always drops a Tier 3 visible piece as well as three non-visible pieces, and usually a spell dreadmote.

If your a pet class, and only after the ear, look again.

Someone actually brought this to my attention. He also drops a hammer with a clicky effect, Circle of Power.

If you read the effect, it causes your pets an increased chance for crits, both spell and melee. Some might find this worthless after farming this guy for a while, but every bit of DPS comes through when you solo mainly like I do.

Take another minute and wait for this to drop as well. I mainly use this hammer with named fights. I've never parsed it, but it's gotta be doing something right :-)

What it took us to kill him (3x now).

Tank was a 4000AA'd mage level 96 air pet focused with EM12 (from black vertebrae or twitching snood). We ran 3 mages + 2J5 + 1J4 cleric. Out of group was an enchanter debuffing and a cleric that cast Mark on him and kept an eye on the primary pet for spot heals and occasionally targeted the kill group for group hots or heals. Just guessing the first fight was 20ish minutes, third fight was 11:30 (about twice as fast). Here's what we learned.

Glorig emotes at 80%, 60%, 40% and 20%. He begins by doing lots of damage but is susceptible to spells, every 20% he swaps; low damage, immune to casting. Bro thought his pet quit attacking on the first kill but we never saw, nor confirmed that is always true. It's possible he occasionally does something that causes a melee to quit hitting (there are other vague references to the same thing below). We can't confirm it but beware that it's possible.

100%-80%: He is susceptible to spell casting. This is the time for heavy nukes and debuffs.

80%: He emotes: "Glorig The Underdog channels his anger and challenges all to gather around and confront him!".
He is immune to casting at this point. His DPS seemed quite light during this phase. Heals were easy. We threw RS pets (swarm pets) at him.

60%: He emotes: " Glorig The Underdog allows you to back away but increases his onslaught.".
At this point he is again susceptible to casting. Burn hard, it doesn't last long.

40%: He emotes the challenge text above (80% emote) and again is immune to casting.

20%: He emotes the "onslaught" text above and can be nuked to the finish.

He always dropped a tier3 visible piece (legs, chest) and usually a spell mote and he dropped 2 regs and a slot 3 earring on every kill.

He does spawn AT least at two of the locs (there are six gladiators, one stands outside the building, one roams back and forth, the roamer spawned him twice, the marked PH (above) spawned him once. We killed 2 PH's for the first spawn, 114 PH's for the second spawn (no kidding), and 2 PH's for the 3rd spawn.

We were absolutely, positively 100% sure that "something was wrong" because he wouldn't spawn.... then he did...

Mistake in the drops. He dropped 3 chests. The legs came from one of the named looking named mobs that's in the room, they occasionally dropped a spell mote and we got the leg piece once. Very rare but it does happen. Obviously we killed a whole freaking lot of these.

BTW you can get by killing JUST the 6 gladiators (we did this mostly ourselves). Respawns are 16 minutes (maybe 16:40, they seem to like 1000 secs). By killing just the gladiators, we were able to goof off over half the respawn time.

id say he's too rough to handle with a merc tank (not impossible but pretty hard) couple tries ive given him have wiped around 50% using a tank merc.

using a 100 druid/ranger and a 94 bst 3 box though so that could be the problem too, not enough dps

edit: unless autofire wasn't working right i just noticed that ranger wasn't doing anything to him/wasn't letting him shoot at him

HP ~ 20,000,000
Max hit ~ 23,284
Average hit ~ 7,006

27 minute fight (no, not a typo), 11.7k dps into him with 100 BST/CLR/MAG and 93 Ranger w/2x merc clerics (set on balanced/efficient). Seems to be mostly immune to spells for large parts of the fight, but haven't been able to nail down when percentages are (somthing like first and last 20% you can nuke). HUGE MANA DRAIN MOB, as in it takes FOREVER to kill him, so bring some mana batteries/AA's. Dropped T3 chest & arms, slot 3 pet focus earring, range clicky, 1x glowing dreadmote.

Ok so here's the info on this guy.
1) his placeholders are all 6 of the undefeated gladiator mobs that are around his marked spawn point. i have confirmed him spawning on all 6.

2) he does had 21k hp, he is a belly caster, but he may not go that way until he has dropped 80%, and he rampages and wild rampages regularly. his dps avg was parsing 70k to 95k dps

3) he drops 2 items off his list, 1 to 2 armor drops, (chest or arms), and 1 to 2 dread shards of any lvl.

4) he is social with gladiators only. and the gladiators are only social with each other.

Dropped
Underdog's Cleaver
Unsuspected Striker
Fear Washed Tunic
Fear Washed Armguards

21 million hps! WTF! anyways, dropped a greater, a tunic item, the earring, and the priest weapon. Resisted the mage alot, makes me wonder if he is a belly caster, because he didn't resist the BST at all. mage was using fire spells tho, so might be very resistant to fire...was malo'd, harmonied, and tashed.

Glorig's Gold Earring
Pacifying Skullcracker
Fear Washed Tunic
Glowing Dreadmote

Dropped all of the above in a single kill.

His dmg output isn't particularly noteworthy, his Tireless Strike isn't deadly, but he does have a truckload of hitpoints -- far more than other named in zone.

Second kill dropped:
Father's Knife
Underdog's Cleaver
Fear Washed Tunic
Fear Washed Armguards
Glowing Dreadmote x2

Six items from one kill is $$$.

Parsed him at over 23 million HPs. Stout!
