I did my first at 52. I used the usual necromancer fear kite. No problems with darkness as snare and dots were splurt and plague. I didn't get any resists, but had to recast fear about 4 times.
You had to fear a devourer FOUR times? *faints* I only ever had to fear twice, max. Were you not using a pet or something?
I just pulled them with dooming darkness, splurted, feared when I got to my pull spot, and cast envenomed bolt. Most of them have so few hitpoints that they are down to around a bubble or so by the time fear wears off.

I am a 52 Wizzy with 211 Int, and another 200 in plus mana items. I gave one of these a full mana bar of Ice Comets (all 5 hit full on for 1120) did a harvest, and a Full Rend (785) and it still had 30% of its HP left. Needless to say, I gated out while I was still unhit. BoF was sticking, but these guys beg for Atol's. Lvl 29 snare isn't going to cut it.
Will come back at 54 and see if I have enough mana to dispatch the little spermie...

These things often resist Bonds of Force (29th Wiz snare) and even Paralyzing Earth does not last more than one nuke.. if that. They hit hard too.. up to 109 as far as I've seen. The stun effect mentioned earlier was evident too. In groups, these are easy enough. Solo, they can be a pain to kite.

i had the privilege of fighting one of these little critters the other day, and they do NOT make a pleasant opponent. the one i fought stunned me a ridiculous amount, especially for a floating set of teeth, and had a pretty high hit/miss ratio. i'm thinking the fact that i was lvl 25 might have had something to do with it =P just a little warning
These things arent in any sort of lake, they float above the ground and roam around freely, one of the 3 types dropped Color Slant, level 52 Ench spell last week end.
Someone was watching a little too much Neon Genesis Evangelion before they designed this. It looks just like Gaghiel, the Sixth Angel. Makes me wonder if there's a red metal giant running about. "Hail an_Eva_02"
This is the same model used in Dalnir's for the Ravenous Nibblers. First time myself and a friend saw one of these things we just stood and stared at it. For some odd reason it didn't aggro. Then again most things in Dalnir's have strange aggro patterns.
