i only seen these once, summoned one as a pet when i was bored waiting for OT boat, had him soloing ogres.

OK, Here it is. After many trips to the firepots for a free TP. (Being a Ranger) I decided to take on these Fire Gators. They do only spawn near the sunken spires in the SW corner of the zone. They do not wander far from here, I never had them on TRACK until the spires were in view.
These are an undercon. At level 27 I took on a blue, It wasnt even close! I swam into the firepot room, expecting to be safe, but no. Just a warning, they will follow you into the firepot room, so you better know which pot you are looking for.
They do not aggro on you unless you attack them, near as I can tell. They are also VERY fast in the water, and do not stay still. I did not see any right in the spires, but rather in a radius around it.
These guys are tough, dont know about the EP though, had to zone to Halas to keep from dying.

What island do these things spawn at? Does anyone know any other helpful hints to killing these gators? Hopefully they are like killing crocs in oasis, easy and good exp.

I saw one swimming around the teleport room entrance in the SW corner.

I can confirm this. Didn't see any until south of Raptor Island. Also, saw a few while going from firepot room to hidden inn.

Actually, they swim in the water- I encountered mine near the firepot room at the very SW corner of the zone.
