what lvl can i get the totem???
Just camped him tonight:
He spawns in the back of the King Room every 23 minutes. I had to kill him 5 times before the Frost Totem Dropped.
PS. To avoid confusion by the below post "Which One"- The full name of the item that is used in the Crafted Boots quest is "Frost Goblin Totem". I believe the item link is just abbreviated

I'm a lvl 23 necro...Off a fallen patriarch I looted a FROST GOBLIN TOTEM which is no drop...I hear it is the FROST TOTEM that is used in the crafted boots quest. Are these two interchangable, did they CHANGE the drop, or is the plain FROST TOTEM a rare drop and these FROST GOBLIN TOTEMS are just loot fillers? It was hard to get a hold of a fallen patriarch and I dont really wanna have to risk death again trying to get one unless I have too...HELP!

Tried this with a 33 warrior and 34 druid. We got creamed bad, and both left a level lower.

Click on it to find that it is no drop, and is for the crafted boots quest. It isn't too hard to read, and look before you post!

Ok... you make it sound as though this is not possible. Evidently, you have never gotten a frost totem off of the Patriarch as of yet... guess what, it is "No Drop". No Drop items are able to be given to NPC's, they cannot be traded to other players. :P
So please, before you try to make others sound as though they made a mistake, be sure of yourself first.

Was in there with me 41 ranger/ and a 35 war.. We cleared the route to the ledge to the right.. where it drops down.. all around him were green to me and he was blue. I stuck an arrow in him from up top, and he came alone.. didnt do much damage.. and in 5 kills bfore the war needed to log.. no totem.. Was about a 17 minute spawn.. just a guestimate though.. We are of course going back.. since it was a piece of cake to pull alone.. BTW.. since i could pull him alone.. I left the greenies down there.. even though they were all blue to the war.. totem and safe pullin over death is a good strategy.. careful not to get greedy.. if the war pulled.. im sure the others would have came.. All items required for quests are no-drop, this prevents someone from gathering up bundles of the things and handing them out or worse selling them on at an extortionate price. If they were not NO-DROP there wouldnt be any point in doing the quest and the items gained would end up being worth only the amount of the gems that you have to fork out for.
