There is a wolf that shows near Fizzlecutter (gnome toupee merchant) in the W.Freeport newbie zone at sunset/sunrise that drops the Mist pelt, looks just like Mist wolf but it's just 'a wolf'. I guess if you really need a pelt but want to stay clear of kamikaze druids you should go there. It is uncommon to see it and uncommon to get he pelt though.
But what the frig is it for. Does it have a purpose or am I just wasting a slot at the bank?

these things drop cayote masks now is this for a new quest i sold my to a npc only for 6 gold but i think there going to make a new quest it said magic item when i looked at it and it wasnt a part of equipment

Silvermist Wolves are highly protected by the druids at the druid ring. They will argo just about anyone who is sitting down. My 28 High Elf Cleric(i also have a 42 Druid) was sitting at the druid ring, one of these nice wolves came up and tried to attack me but missed, I made no attempt to attack him since I knew they were protected. However, after this wolf tried to attack me, the druids killed me without me attacking the wolf.
Just watch where you sit :)

I was passing throught EK when three of these wolfs jump they conned green to me and im lv 9 monk so i kill them then i find a friend of mine lv 17 and a silvermist wolf killed him and he said it conned red to him

I was wandering arounf East Karana when a silvermist wolf aggro'd to my LV21 Druid. The /con was threateningly.
This was strange as most wolves are amiable to me.
In any event, I "spared" the wolf by taking it to the zone and zoning. Immediately upon zoning, I zoned back and the wolf conned amiable!

Thats because if anything attacks you it will turn to threatening meaning it will aggro, for example carrion beetles in FoB. Carrion beetles normally con dubious to my monk, but when i hit one it turns threatiningly and the others come to help. I still have no clue why it attacked you in the first lace tho.

I have had these jump me (lvl 15 Gnome magician), and as long as I did not hit back, I had little trouble. When I hit back, I immediately was slain by a druid standing by. Next time, I ran to the guards instead.

These con blue to anyone at level 14. I don't know why they show as lvl 8 - 10. Personally, I'd put their max level at 13. They can hit hard too, like a grizzly. Don't run as fast as sow but if you don't have sow, watchout.

Talk about aggroing. I was minding my own buisness, hadn't even seen any creature in the zone, sat down inside a building. I ran upstairs to grab a coffee and when I came back all I see is this wolf that just finished killing me DAMM!
